Time flowed, and chaos-eras passed in turn.
Wen Chu gradually turned into a thoroughly plump little orb. She grew much larger, yet she remained completely unaware, having been asleep the entire time.
Without anyone knowing when, the world had quietly become enveloped in a calamitous aura thick with slaughter and resentment. Even this secluded island where Wen Chu resided was not spared.
Fortunately, Wen Chu had already won the “heart” of a certain lotus beforehand. It quietly purified and protected her, keeping the deadly calamitous aura away from her origin and instead converting it all into rich spiritual qi for her to absorb completely.
After who knew how much longer, Wen Chu woke from her dormancy—or rather, she was awakened by the resounding voice of the Great Dao.
Listening to the lingering rumbles of heavenly thunder outside, Wen Chu couldn't help but wonder in her heart: Did someone outside just swear an oath to the Heavenly Dao?
What a massive commotion.
Immediately after, a faint, inexplicable sorrow surged within her heart.
Was it for the Primordial World itself? Or perhaps for the countless lives perishing throughout heaven and earth?
The feeling was so overwhelming that the enlarged orb of Wen Chu began emitting wails akin to a boiling kettle.
“Waaah... This is so sad! Why am I so sad?!”
“Wait, someone outside takes an oath, and here I am crying and wailing like a lunatic? What's wrong with me?!”
“Alright, Little Wen Chu, you have to be strong. You're the best... Mm, right, no more crying, no more crying...”
“Oww—but still, it hurts so much, waah...”
...
Wen Chu spent a long time comforting herself before finally calming down. Looking closely, she discovered that at some point, the flowers and grass around her had all wilted and turned droopy.
Wen Chu: ???
How could this happen? Not sure, let me take another look.
Wen Chu controlled her body, floating east and peeking west. She noticed that they seemed to slowly perk back up again.
They swayed their stems and branches toward Wen Chu, and one spirit flower even gently bowed its bud before blooming unabashedly right in front of her.
Wen Chu: (/≧▽≦)/~┴┴
Th-Th-They are so adorable!!!
Alright, her sadness was completely gone now.
Little Wen Chu bounced up and down, joy bursting forth within her.
She instinctively guided the dense spiritual qi around her toward them. “Grow big and strong~”
“Life truly is amazing.”
She had a friendly chat with the surrounding flora, but they couldn't speak, nor could they understand her words. They could only sway their branches and leaves by instinct.
She was all alone here. There were no intelligent creatures to talk or interact with her, and for some reason, not even a single small animal could be found nearby.
Lonely, lonely, lonely...
Wen Chu floated back to the petal of her gorgeously divine white lotus, rolling her considerably enlarged orb of a body into a comfortable shape to nestle securely on top.
“Little Lotus, can you talk to me~?”
The white lotus's petals trembled gently, indicating that it couldn't yet. It was not fully mature, and its petals had not completely bloomed. It was not yet a perfect lotus and could not use spiritual intent to communicate with its sweet-smelling master.
Unaware of this, Wen Chu waited for a long while. Seeing that it couldn't speak either, she sighed and asked again, “Lotus, what grade are you?”
When she first arrived, only its outermost petals had bloomed, so she hadn't seen it clearly.
This time, all of its petals had opened except for the three in the center.
“Let me count...”
Hearing her words, the white lotus gently quivered its petals once more so Wen Chu could see more clearly.
“...One, two, three... ten, eleven, twelve...”
“Omo omo! It really is you, the Twelve-Petaled White Lotus of World Cleansing!”
Doesn't that mean the place she was at right now was Fangzhang Island?!
She had hit the jackpot!
Her real estate was literally castle-tier!
Ehehehe~
Seeing that Wen Chu had finally called out its name, the White Lotus of World Cleansing shook its stem and leaves even more vigorously.
Wen Chu's large orb body floated up and circled around it. Realizing that despite being unable to speak, it possessed spiritual awareness, she began showering it with praise.
“Oh my, this is incredible! To think I could gain the favor of such a gorgeous lotus like you... it must be the good fortune I accumulated over eight lifetimes~”
“Look at these petals, so pure and flawless~”
“Look at these leaves, so lush and emerald green~”
“You can even purify karmic obstacles and remain immune to all spells—you're amazing!”
“Lotus, you're so beautiful, so strong, and yet you still fancy me... I'm deeply moved~”
At this moment, Wen Chu sounded like a smooth-talking charmer. “Don't worry, I will definitely cherish you and never leave you~”
How could the naive White Lotus of World Cleansing withstand such flirtatious sweet-talk? At that moment, it wanted nothing more than to pack up its entire origin and hand it over to Wen Chu.
Its petals shook so hard they formed a wavy pattern.
Yes, this was the sweet-smelling creature it chose! She truly cared about it!
She was simply head over heels for it!
Wen Chu could make a rough guess. Her Life Origin was stacked layer upon layer—a law from another world, the legacy of a Fiendgod, plus the gift of the very first strand of innate vitality from Great God Pangu's creation of the world—all combined to form a massive boing version of her.
Mm... Overflowing with vitality as she was, she should be very popular among living creatures, right?
Thinking up to this point, Wen Chu began pondering further. The Primordial World was fraught with dangers, and she was carrying a priceless treasure (Little Lotus). What was more, she was so plump and juicy...
Most crucial of all, when it came to cultivation, nine out of her ten apertures were open—which is to say, she didn't have a single clue.
Earlier, she had thought she could obtain some heritage from her origin, but it turned out to be just a single sentence: You are life itself, the source of all vitality in the world.
Wen Chu: “...”
Just her?
Guess I'll just try cultivating and see. Either way, it won't work right now—I'm not worthy yet.
Wen Chu reasonably suspected that this likely came from the mass of the origin of the Law of Life copied for her by the system.
But hello! This is the Primordial World!
She didn't even have a human form yet! She could only absorb spiritual qi and knew nothing else. She was incredibly weak, and stepping outside would be utterly embarrassing.
Therefore, enrolling in a class was of the utmost urgency!
Wen Chu pondered for a moment. If she relied on Little Lotus for protection in the future, it wasn't impossible for her to become one of the guests in the Purple Heaven Palace and take a masterclass to speedrun her progress.
Right now, Wen Chu could sense that there was still a tiny bit of distance between her and Little Lotus. They needed to get a little “closer.”
Sigh, the road ahead is long and arduous.
How was she going to protect herself in the future?
If she remembered correctly, after Hongjun gave his lectures, it would be an era where “Daluo Golden Immortals are as common as dogs, and Quasi-Saints roam everywhere.”
She couldn't stay inside forever either... Besides, being left behind meant getting beaten, and she was lagging behind by a huge margin.
Mm... It's settled!
She was definitely going to study at the famous Purple Heaven Palace Academy. Great God Pangu had certified her, so she wasn't afraid!
Once Wen Chu thought it through, her whole orb body relaxed considerably.
Next up, she needed to solve the problem of her “property deed.”
So the question was, how could she turn Fangzhang Island into her personal property?
She looked at the White Lotus of World Cleansing growing on Fangzhang Island. “Little Lotus, do you know how to refine this island?”
The White Lotus of World Cleansing paused in a remarkably human manner. Then, it submerged a stem to the bottom of the pool, rummaged around, and tossed out a heavy, lustrous square seal stained with a few spots of mud in its grooves.
Wen Chu: “...”
Wow, what an unpretentious entrance.
