Chapter 6 | A Socially Anxious Immortal Seeks Merit Online

Since taking form, the “lotus bed” had enjoyed Yuan Heng's exclusive favor.

Although she had adapted quite well, she still wanted a real house.

And so, Yuan Heng spent the recent period trying to build a house.

However, she knew nothing about formation bases or spirit-attracting techniques, relying solely on brute-forcing it with spiritual energy. Though the process was a bit chaotic, the end result was fortunately good: she successfully constructed a small palace.

Unadorned with gold or jade, without painted patterns, it used bamboo and wood as its frame, spiritual soil as its walls, immortal lotus leaves for its roof, and trailing vines for windows...

It was surprisingly elegant.

Sizing up the somewhat rustic palace before her, Yuan Heng rubbed her nose sheepishly. Well... her aesthetic sense was probably limited to this.

Darn it. Once her strength grew greater or her network of connections expanded, she would definitely make improvements.

If she couldn't make something satisfying herself, couldn't she just act as the client and hire someone else to refine it for her?

Just as Yuan Heng was admiring her masterpiece, she suddenly heard a resonant Dao sound... Neither loud nor soft, it echoed across every single corner of heaven and earth, penetrating deep into the souls of all living beings, including Yuan Heng's mind.

With words manifesting law, tens of thousands of auspicious rays rose into the sky.

“I am Hongjun. Through the Jade Register of Creation, I have comprehended the Three Thousand Great Daos, and now I have attained the Hunyuan Status, becoming a Supreme Saint.

“I shall establish my sanctuary at Purple Heaven Palace beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens of Chaos, and in three thousand years, I shall begin lecturing on the Supreme Hunyuan Great Dao.

“All living beings of the Primordial World, if destined, may come to listen.

“Today I proclaim this to the eight directions of the Primordial World and the ten thousand spirits of the heavens. Await the start of the lecture!”

As the words fell, heavenly flowers fluttered down from the nine heavens, and golden lotuses bloomed across the vast earth. Boundless purple mist poured forth from Purple Heaven Palace for tens of thousands of miles, causing the minds of all great powers to tremble as they bowed in unison.

Yuan Heng naturally didn't lag behind. A sharp light glinted in her eyes, her gaze filled with eager anticipation.

It was here!

It was finally here!

The Primordial World's very first crash course taught by a grand master had arrived.

Yuan Heng heard the message one second and was ready to depart the next.

“Lotus, let's go find Purple Heaven Palace!”

Yuan Heng happily twirled around with Lotus. This was her first time going out, and though she remembered that the Sea of Chaos was very dangerous, with Lotus around, she was certain she could cross it safely.

As for whether she was one of the “destined people” Hongjun mentioned?

Yuan Heng blinked her big eyes, her gaze full of piety as she bowed devoutly. “Heavenly Dao bless me, Dao Ancestor bless me, this disciple truly wants to make progress so badly.”

“Please ensure that this disciple successfully reaches Purple Heaven Palace!”

Heavenly Dao: “...”

Haven't I blessed you enough already?

There was a vast sea of living beings worshiping It; It didn't need to respond to every single thing, haha.

As for Hongjun, who felt the same resonance: “...”

Mm, the title of “Dao Ancestor” seemed quite suitable for him.

Not bad, not bad.

Yuan Heng didn't expect anyone to respond to her anyway. She cheerfully prepared to leave, but an inadvertent glance caught sight of her little garden—it couldn't be left unattended.

Mm... she should enlighten an attendant.

Yuan Heng's gaze swept over the numerous plants around her, and she spotted the spiritual flower that had carelessly bloomed at her before.

It seemed even more full of spirituality than before.

Recalling the scene from earlier, Yuan Heng couldn't help but chuckle softly, making her decision. “You'll do...”

Yuan Heng raised her fingertip, brewing Dao charm as she lightly tapped the plant's main stem. Life force surged into its roots, instantly condensing into a spirit soul of vegetation and transforming into human form.

The little one looked to be around six or seven years old, with pink hair, round almond eyes, and fluttering eyelashes—naive and pure.

She nervously clutched the hem of her skirt with her tiny hands, appearing somewhat constrained, yet her eyes shone bright as she bowed in greeting. “Greetings, Niangniang.”

Eh?

Had she already been promoted that far?

Was... was she a bit unworthy of such a title?

Yuan Heng looked at her, a gentle warmth flickering in her eyes. “Would you like to be my little attendant?”

“I would! This little attendant is willing!!”

A pie had fallen from the sky! How could she possibly refuse? What's more, she had been enlightened into existence by Niangniang in the first place.

For such a wonderful thing to happen, hesitating for even a single second would be disrespecting that whole pool of Three-Light Divine Water—it would be disrespecting the infinite Great Dao of Life emanating from Niangniang!

“Thank you for your grace, Niangniang!”

Yuan Heng nodded in satisfaction and helped her freshly minted little attendant to her feet. “Good. Today, I shall bestow a name upon you...”

“You shall be called Ling Nü. For now, you'll be in charge of tending to my little garden.”

“There's no need to call me Niangniang. For now... calling me Daojun will do.”

Yuan Heng suppressed the overly grand chuunibyou fantasy in her heart, thinking that having the girl call her Daojun felt more appropriate for the moment.

The child obeyed, nodding obediently as she replied, “Okay~ Ling Nü thanks Daojun for enlightenment. I will definitely take good care of Daojun's little garden~”

Yuan Heng didn't say anything, simply finding her attendant exceptionally adorable. She raised her hand and gently patted Ling Nü's small head. “Good girl~”

After giving a few brief instructions, she picked some spirit fruits to take with her and prepared to set off with Lotus. With Lotus and the Fangzhang Seal, Yuan Heng wasn't afraid of being unable to find her way back, so she left quite decisively.

Stepping onto Lotus, she traveled all the way to the outer edge of Fangzhang Island.

A misty, water-like innate barrier lay across Yuan Heng's sight. She reached out and touched it lightly, causing the wall—thin as a cicada's wing—to suddenly shimmer with faint spiritual light.

Hiss... her island's barrier seemed to be in a slightly bad state.

She remembered from the novel settings that Fangzhang Island had always been protected by an innate formation. Could it be that because she had taken form, it felt there was no longer a need for protection, and thus gradually weakened?

Mm... maybe once she reached Purple Heaven Palace, she could see if she could find a formation master among her classmates to help out??

Once she thought it through, Yuan Heng stopped dwelling on it. With a gentle wave of her hand, the barrier before her rippled outward like water to both sides.

She didn't feel the slightest sensation of spatiotemporal turbulence; in the blink of an eye, she found herself above the East Sea.

Mm... this was probably the special treatment for being the actual property owner.

Looking at the vast, boundless sea before her, Yuan Heng fell into deep thought. Which direction was she supposed to go?

She didn't know the way!

And so, Yuan Heng looked down at the White Lotus of World Cleansing. “Lotus, you were transformed from a seed of the Chaos Green Lotus. Do you know how to get to the Thirty-Three Heavens of Chaos?”

For Lotus, this was a piece of cake.

Upon hearing this, the White Lotus of World Cleansing bolted toward a known direction, not even noticing that its sweet-smelling master's hair had become a messy tangle from its abrupt movement.
