Splat!
Half a skull slid off as the bodies of two soldiers collapsed.
Under Liu Zhian's control, the purplish-white crescent wheels drifted like weightless frisbees.
They flashed within the white walls, turning and accelerating as they lunged toward any signs of life.
The commotion at the gate caused a stir in a building dozens of meters away, and over a dozen soldiers armed with rifles immediately rushed out.
The first soldier to emerge looked toward the gate, but all he saw were four streaks of purplish-white light flashing past.
Splat! Splat!
A rapid succession of slicing sounds echoed through the air. A look of sheer disbelief crossed his face as he reached up to touch his head.
The moment his hand made contact, a line of blood split his head wide open, and the upper half of his skull slid right off.
Behind him, the skulls of the dozen or so soldiers who had rushed out with him fell off at the exact same time.
Thud!
They had died without even catching a glimpse of their enemy. The gap in power was simply too vast.
Behind the villa, five soldiers holding handguns ran toward the gate.
Just as they were about to turn a corner, three purplish-white light wheels suddenly materialized in the air three meters ahead.
After rounding the corner, they completely ignored the laws of inertia, snapping around to charge straight at the five soldiers.
Splat!
Five heads tumbled to the ground. Having dealt with these guards, the light wheels continued to harvest the remaining security personnel at near-sonic speeds.
There were no screams, no gunshots. The moment anyone laid eyes on the light wheels, they died the very next second.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Three seconds later, the ten purplish-white light wheels returned to hover behind Liu Zhian, humming loudly as they spun at high speeds, vibrating the air.
“How utterly boring. I thought you guys would put up a better fight,” Liu Zhian said with a faint smile.
It was a complete massacre. It didn't matter that these soldiers were the elite of the elite in their respective units; they stood no chance.
On the second floor of the villa, Feng Chang, who had just fallen asleep, opened his eyes. He frowned deeply. What on earth are they doing out there?
Glancing at the beautiful woman sleeping beside him, he got out of bed, walked over to the window, and gently pulled the curtain aside to look outside.
At that sight, his eyes widened, his face went pale, and any lingering drowsiness vanished instantly.
Below him, over a dozen headless or half-brained soldier corpses littered the ground.
And standing by the gate was a young man with ten light wheels floating behind his back.
The moment he looked down, the young man suddenly raised his head to meet his gaze. With a faint smile, the youth raised his left hand and pointed straight at him.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
In the next instant, the ten purplish-white light wheels shot upward.
Crash! Crash! Crash!
The world-class bulletproof glass in front of Feng Chang shattered instantly like wet paper under the onslaught of the light wheels.
Slash!
Shattered glass swept across his face, spraying blood as it tore open a deep gash.
“Ah!” he shrieked in pain, quickly scrambling backward.
Splat!
But the sound of flesh being sliced behind him made his pupils contract. He instinctively turned to look.
His wife's neck, stomach, and thighs had been sliced through by three light wheels. She had died in her sleep.
Thud!
Just then, a sound came from the window. He whipped his head around.
The young man who had been outside just moments ago was now standing in front of the shattered bulletproof window, hands in his pockets.
He looked at Feng Chang with a playful smirk. “Feng Chang, the great Councilman Feng. I never expected a nobody like me to meet you like this. I wonder if you're satisfied with this housewarming gift of slaughtering your entire family?”
Feng Chang stared at the face of the man whose wanted poster he had personally signed.
A bitter laugh escaped his lips. “Liu Zhian of the Liu family... It was my mistake. Or perhaps we have enjoyed peace for too long. Your emergence made me fail to realize just how terrifying of a threat you pose to us.”
Before the arrival of supernaturals, their mindset was still stuck in the old ways.
They assumed their enemies would fight their subordinates first, or prioritize killing those who opposed them directly, rather than bypassing the entire process to strike directly at the masterminds.
In the past, anyone wanting to make a move on them would have to face a modern army and a massive force of elite security guards.
Even though his family had just been slaughtered, Feng Chang maintained a calm, composed expression. “Just tell me what your Liu family wants. Since you've come all this way, it would be far more profitable to keep me alive as your puppet than to kill me.”
For someone of his status, as long as he remained alive, there would always be a chance to turn things around.
Liu Zhian watched his performance, his smile unchanging. “It seems Councilman Feng is quite confident. But then again, I do like confident people.”
He took a step forward, closing the distance between them.
There's hope! I can live! Seeing the young man's attitude, Feng Chang completely ignored the injury on his face.
He managed to squeeze out a smile. “Of course. After all, my Feng family is—”
Before he could finish, the smiling Liu Zhian suddenly reached out, grabbed his head, and slammed it into the floor.
Bang!
Feng Chang hit the floor face-first with a heavy thud. Blood gushed from his nose, and three of his front teeth were knocked out.
“Ahhh!!!” The excruciating pain made him shriek.
“More than liking them, I prefer grinding confident people under my boot!” Liu Zhian's smile didn't waver.
He planted his left foot firmly onto Feng Chang's head, reached into his pocket with his other hand, pulled out his phone, and opened the front camera to start recording.
“Come on, Feng Chang, let's hear you beg. Who knows, if you make me happy, I might just spare your life!” Liu Zhian said, smiling at the camera.
Pinned beneath his boot, Feng Chang completely panicked. He had never faced such a situation in his entire life. The raw terror of facing death was something even a powerful ruler like him could not withstand.
“Spare me! I'm still useful! I can be the Liu family's dog! Please, I beg of you! Even if you want to become the Emperor, I can help you!” Feng Chang screamed, his eyes wide with sheer terror.
But Liu Zhian's smile suddenly vanished, his tone turning ice-cold. “Spare you? Do you have any idea why I came all the way to the Capital? It was specifically to kill you!”
With that, he lifted his foot off Feng Chang, grabbed the blood-soaked man, and aimed him toward the camera. “The five great families of the Capital, councilmen of the highest authority in the Nanming Kingdom...
Perhaps you could look down on ordinary people from your high pedestals, but to people like us, you are nothing but dogs. We can kill you whenever we please!”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He slammed Feng Chang's head repeatedly on camera.
“Ah!”
“Ugh...”
Splat! Splat!
Blood pooled rapidly across the floor. One of the most powerful men in the nation, ruling over hundreds of millions, was bludgeoned to death, stroke by stroke, in his own bedroom.
A minute later, blood splattered everywhere. Feng Chang's face was a mangled mess of flesh and bone, his forehead completely caved in.
Liu Zhian let go of the body and calmly stopped the recording. “The supernatural is not something you ordinary folks can meddle with, not even those in power.”
Slipping his phone back into his pocket, he walked toward the window.
Hum!
Purplish-white energy materialized beneath his feet, lifting his body into the air.
Under his control, the purplish-white energy elongated to two meters, shaping itself into a surfboard.
Whoosh!
In the next moment, the surfboard soared into the sky, heading toward Li Feilin's residence.
A top-tier elite like him would undoubtedly have a system in place to check in with the outside world at regular intervals to ensure everything was fine.
Every five or ten minutes, someone would surely contact the guards here to confirm their status.
