“Violet?”
“Ain! I really... I really missed you so much!”
Violet put on a tearful face, her tone overflowing with grievance.
“The days without you have been so painful! Every single second is sheer torture!”
“Ain, don't abandon me! Please! Don't leave me all alone!”
“What am I supposed to do without you? I won't be able to go on living! Waaah...”
Violet leaned in slightly, her pretty face almost pressing against Ain's cheek. She rested both hands naturally on his shoulders in an intimate posture, and an ambiguous atmosphere instantly spread between them.
Lillian stared intently at this scene, her eyes terrifyingly hollow, as if her soul had already left her body.
Unconsciously, the girl tightened her fingers, and the wrap in her hand instantly snapped under the immense pressure, its filling scattering all over the floor.
She stood frozen in place, letting the crushed remnants slip through her fingers.
Who on earth is this?
Aren't those all my lines?!
“Y-You're getting too close, Violet!”
“No! You can't leave me! I won't let you go! Didn't we agree to be together? How could you abandon me all by myself? Waaah!”
Violet clung to Ain tightly, refusing to let go.
While Lillian remained frozen in place, Vanessa's eyes narrowed slightly, the killing intent surging in her gaze like a bursting black tide, spreading wildly in all directions with her at the center.
“Hey, look at that person over there...”
“The look in her eyes is so terrifying.”
“Maybe we should head to the second floor instead?”
“Let's go, quickly.”
Vanessa's murderous aura had already driven away quite a few students. At this moment, her eyes were filled with rage.
“It's bad enough that you abducted Lillian, and it's bad enough that you're trying to latch onto my Erylin...”
“But you've actually made a lifelong promise to another girl, only to ruthlessly abandon her now?”
“Heh, Ain, you're quite something, aren't you?”
Vanessa looked at Ain with a fake, chilly smile.
She really wanted to run a blade through this guy right now for playing with girls' feelings everywhere!
Meanwhile, Emil was completely speechless.
This was too crazy.
Ain, this is way too crazy!
You've basically done everything I wouldn't dare to do in my entire life!
“Oh... so you two had already made a promise to spend your lives together?”
Ain's heart skipped a beat. He suddenly noticed that the way Erylin was looking at him was also filled with a dangerous warning.
“Violet, I'm warning you. If you don't explain yourself clearly today, I'll have Professor Grimm cancel all your material applications for this semester—no, next semester too!”
“That's exactly it, Ain! That's exactly it!”
Violet looked as if she were about to burst into tears.
“Didn't you say we would submit the potion's academic report together? I don't know how to do it! That was something you made! How am I supposed to know the principles behind it?!”
“The professor said that if I can't produce it, he's going to fail me in this semester's class! And he'll cancel my material applications!”
“Help me, Ain! You have to help me! Quickly make a bottle of it for me!”
“I really... have no one left but you...”
Lillian's face was covered in dark lines.
Is this person doing this on purpose?
Why is she saying all my lines?!
Ain nodded repeatedly and said, “Fine, fine, fine, I'll help you. Let's first...”
“Wait, that's not right. Didn't Professor Grimm tell me before that we only needed to submit an academic paper?”
“Even though I haven't written it yet, why did you just say you need me to help you make a bottle of the potion?”
“Oh, so the professor told you that...”
Her face, which had been lively and animated just a second ago, seemed to have been paused.
All her expressions instantly froze and dissolved. Violet blinked guiltily, her gaze slowly drifting to the left, no longer daring to look Ain in the eye.
“Don't tell me you wanted me to make a bottle for you so you could use it to apply for research funding from Professor Grimm?”
“Ehehe.”
Violet stuck out her tongue in a cute manner.
I've been caught.
“Well, you guys seem busy, so I'll just...”
“Since you're already here, why don't you stay and have a meal with us, hm?”
Ain looked at Violet with a "friendly" smile.
You want to leave after causing trouble?
No way in hell is it going to be that easy!
Facing the equally oppressive gazes of the three girls, Violet froze in place, her eyes scanning them.
One of those gazes was like a physical blade, sharp with scrutiny, hostility, and danger, stabbing deeply into her.
The surrounding air seemed to solidify, and the smell of gunpowder was so thick it was suffocating. Violet swallowed hard, her heart instantly flooded with immense regret.
Lord Ain, I was wrong.
I'll never scheme against you again.
I don't want to get dragged into this kind of trouble...
A long while later.
Various dishes had been laid out on the table before them.
Looking at the three massive meat drumsticks on Lillian's plate, Vanessa's tense nerves finally relaxed. She quietly breathed a long sigh of relief, and the sense of crisis in her heart vanished into thin air.
Thank goodness.
Thank goodness.
The girl secretly rejoiced in her heart.
It seems this girl Lillian hasn't forgotten our friendship after all.
Vanessa remembered very clearly that in the past, every time they had lunch, Lillian would make sure to order three extra drumsticks to share with her and Erylin.
Back then, when she asked Lillian why she did that, the girl had replied:
“We're best friends! These are super delicious!”
Lillian's innocence and cuteness had deeply touched Vanessa.
“Let me feed you.”
Hearing that Lillian wanted to feed her personally, Vanessa's heart was instantly filled with a massive wave of happiness.
Lillian used to do this too!
See that, Ain?!
You can't steal Lillian's heart away!
Lillian still has a place for me in her heart!
Best sisters forever!
Vanessa closed her eyes, leaning forward with a look of pure bliss, and slowly opened her mouth.
But even after more than ten seconds, she still hadn't tasted the drumstick.
Huh?
Why hasn't Lillian... fed me yet?
When Vanessa opened her eyes, she was completely stunned by the scene before her.
“How is it? Delicious, right?”
“This is actually pretty good. Which stall is it from?”
“The one on the right in the first row!”
Lillian fed the drumstick to Ain.
Vanessa froze.
“Lillian, what about me?”
Vanessa offered an awkward smile, pointing at the other two drumsticks on the plate, trying to appeal to the last shred of kindness in the other girl's heart.
“These? These are for Ain.”
Lillian held a drumstick with her chopsticks, smiling gently. But to Vanessa, the girl had already fallen and turned into a demon from the abyss.
Are you kidding me...
Are you kidding me, you jerk!
Ain, I'm going to kill you!
Die, die, die, die, die!
Just drop dead, you bastard!
Give me back my cute Lillian!
Vanessa's rage was about to break through the sky. With a sharp crack, the fork in her right hand was snapped clean in half by her sheer grip.
Yet Ain still felt everything was perfectly normal.
“By the way, didn't you say you had some surprise for me?”
“Oh right! I almost forgot... Ta-da!”
Lillian pulled three tickets out of her pocket.
“Passes to the south! Erylin and I had a really hard time snatching the last one!”
Saying this, Lillian suddenly recalled the scene when Erylin had visited her in the hospital room before her loss of control.
At that time, Erylin had clearly told her that she had secured the two tickets. Yet right at that moment, Lillian had completely lost control.
It was precisely because of this that Lillian had apologized to Erylin.
Because she wouldn't have been able to accompany Erylin during this summer vacation.
At that time, she couldn't fulfill their promise.
But things were different now.
At this thought, the smile on Lillian's face grew even brighter.
“Let's go to the south together for summer vacation! And we can stay at Erylin's house!”
Erylin also looked at Ain with a smile.
“You're very welcome.”
So this was the surprise?
Wait!
Ain suddenly thought of something.
In the first vision Lola had shown him, Erylin seemed to have mentioned her mother.
So that room... was in Erylin's house?
So I ended up sleeping with Erylin and Lillian in her own home?
“Cough, cough, cough!”
Emil choked.
He almost spat out all the food in his mouth.
This was easily the most hellish scene he had ever witnessed in his life.
This Ain guy was going to... visit Erylin's house with his girlfriend?
Can these words... even form a sentence?
Am I actually awake today?
This can't be real, this can't be real!
At this moment, Vanessa was also questioning her life choices.
Three tickets, but none of them were for her.
Didn't we promise to be best sisters for life?!
Why am I the one being left out!
Ain, ahhh!
“Why? Why isn't there one for me?!”
Vanessa questioned Lillian.
“Eh? Vanessa, didn't you say before that you already had plans for the summer? Didn't you also say, 'You two go ahead and have fun, don't worry about me'?”
“I did say that... but!”
Vanessa tapped her head in frustration.
But you guys didn't say you were bringing Ain along!
“I don't care! Either bring me along, or this guy doesn't go!”
Vanessa glared intensely at Ain.
This guy is probably planning to make a move on both Erylin and Lillian at the same time!
Just then, Violet, who had been silent for a long time, spoke up weakly, “Um, speaking of summer vacation...”
“Ain, I was actually planning to tell you in a few days. The professor and Lady Margaret want us to go to the south during this vacation to procure some special magic potion fruits and complete some special experiments there.”
Lillian stuffed another drumstick into Ain's mouth, giving him no chance to speak. As if declaring her sovereignty, the girl replied with a smile, “It's fine. We'll just complete those tasks along the way when we go play.”
“But those experiments require two people.”
“Can't Ain and I just do them?”
“You don't even know potionology, do you...”
“Can't Ain just teach me?”
“No way! This is related to my evaluation for next semester! I absolutely have to do them with Ain!”
Violet's attitude suddenly grew firm, though she was feeling rather guilty inside.
She actually just wanted to ride on his coattails; she couldn't understand those experiments at all.
Lillian narrowed her eyes with a smile. She had completely unexpected that Ain was actually maintaining such an intimate relationship with a woman like this on the side.
I must be his number one!
Just as Ain was about to take the drumstick out of his mouth, a large hand patted his shoulder gently.
“Ain, weren't we the very first ones who agreed to go to the south together for summer vacation? And don't we still have a mission? As a man, keeping your word is the most basic responsibility. It's not good to only seek pleasure!”
At this moment, Emil only wanted to drag Ain down with him.
You brother-betraying bastard, there's no way I'm letting you live the good life!
Just obediently come with me to spend this dull and boring three-month vacation!
Lillian's face was dark now as she looked at Ain with a "gentle" expression.
“Hey, Ain, Erylin and I are the most important ones in your heart, right?”
“Heh, do you dare to go to Erylin's house?”
“Ain, once we finish those experiments, our experimental funding for next semester will be secured!”
“Remember your responsibility as a man, Ain!”
Ain only wanted to flee this battlefield as quickly as possible.
Suddenly, a faint fragrance drifted into Ain's nose. Only then did he realize that someone had stood behind him at some point.
“Yo, Ain, you're here too?”
“Boss!”
Ain looked at Sevis with tears in his eyes.
Great, someone is finally here to save me!
As expected, Boss is the most reliable one when I need him most!
Hurry up and take me away from this hellhole, Boss!
Sevis's lips curled up slightly, carrying a meaningful smile as he quietly gazed at Ain.
“Ain, for summer vacation, why don't you come over to my place?”
“...Eh?”
Ain froze.
Boss...
You're not here to add fuel to the fire, right?
