“So... strong...” Scott muttered blankly, staring at the scene. It took him a long while to squeeze the words out.
Beside him, Titus and the rest of the Limit warriors were also wearing expressions of utter disbelief.
Just now... Young Master Leon's figure had suddenly vanished. Had he used teleportation?
But... was teleportation really an ability a priest could master? Even for mages, only those with exceptional talent who specialized in spatial magic could pull it off at the Gold rank!
Most means and abilities of teleportation had to rely on magic scrolls to work!
Yet Leon hadn't even pulled out a magic scroll just now. With a mere lift of his priest's scepter, he had teleported right behind Evelyn No. 2.
While others had to painstakingly construct spatial magic models or rely on magic scrolls,
Leon could teleport effortlessly with a casual wave of his hand.
If other mages who specialized in spatial magic saw this, their magical hearts would surely shatter!
“Young Master Leon, you aren't hurt, are you?” Titus finally snapped out of his shock and quickly stepped forward to greet Leon.
“Do I look like I'm hurt?” Leon raised an eyebrow, somewhat speechless at Titus's formulaic greeting.
Titus chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his head.
It wasn't that he just wanted to give a hollow greeting, but... from the start of the battle to the finish, barely any time had passed.
He had absolutely no sense of participation.
Before he could even lead his men into action, Leon had already wiped out everyone on his own.
This made Titus, as a guard, feel incredibly awkward. It felt as though he had been slacking off the entire time, never once fulfilling his duties...
He felt the distinct anxiety of getting paid without doing any work.
So, he had subconsciously blurted out the question of whether Leon was injured.
Only after Leon's retort did Titus realize:
The enemies had been instantly killed before they could even make a move. How could Leon possibly get hurt?
Seeing Titus's embarrassment, Ratahn walked over with the Falcon warriors, patted his shoulder, and sighed with the voice of experience:
“Brother Titus, once you go out to battle with the young master a few more times, you'll quickly get used to this.”
Titus: “...”
“Scott.”
“Young Master, I'm here!” Hearing Leon's call, Scott rushed over to him. “Young Master Leon, what are your orders?”
Glancing at Scott, whose face had suddenly filled with a sycophantic grin, Leon knew exactly what was on his mind. He tossed Evelyn No. 2's head, which was still held by the hand of sacred flame, over to Scott and said:
“She possesses a wealth of alchemical knowledge. Repair her, export her alchemical technology, and learn it.”
“Yes, sir!” Scott caught Evelyn No. 2's mechanical head with absolute delight, a grin stretching from ear to ear.
Seeing him like this, Leon added:
“Also, focus purely on learning the technology. Don't go doing anything weird to No. 2's head.”
Scott's face instantly stiffened. “Young Master Leon, I am a gentleman of pure character...”
Admittedly, he did have a bit of a fetish for things like delicate faces, sleeping beauties, and mechanical creations.
But she only had a head left... Even he wasn't that degenerate...
Having dealt with Evelyn No. 2, Leon turned to Alicia and asked,
“Did you sense any waves of killing intent or hostility from her earlier?”
“No,” Alicia shook her head, a look of confusion on her face. “In... my perception... she didn't have... any other emotions. Only... calmness. And... the other... Evelyns... I could... sense them all. Only... No. 2... was an exception.”
Hearing this, Leon was also somewhat puzzled.
The Alicia-brand emotion detector had actually failed?
Zero stars! Could it be upgraded?
Leon looked at Alicia, wondering if having her read some books on "reading facial expressions" might upgrade her emotion detector's capabilities.
On second thought, probably not. Alicia fell asleep the moment she opened a book, behaving exactly like a completely degenerate college student who was useless, slept, forgot, and did nothing but eat.
“You... are... talking smack... about me!” Alicia suddenly flashed in front of Leon, staring at him with puffed-up cheeks.
Well then. It seemed her perception capabilities hadn't degraded after all.
Leon pinched Alicia's cheeks, pulled a lollipop out of his pocket, and stuffed it into her mouth. “No, I was praising you.”
“Oh, oh...” Sucking on the lollipop, Alicia instantly stopped caring about Leon badmouthing her in his mind.
“So it's not that Alicia's perception has weakened, but rather that No. 2 is special...” Leon murmured thoughtfully.
A moment later, he led the group back to the Creator's Sanctuary.
“You're back already?” Seeing them return, No. 5 jumped up from the ground and tried to rush over to Leon to say something, but she was blocked by the Limit warriors. Left with no choice, she stood where she was and spoke rapidly, “I just linked with Big Sister No. 1! She told me that Big Sister No. 2 usually manufactures many alchemical weapon modules and can equip them onto herself. If you encounter her...”
“We already know,” Scott interrupted before No. 5 could even finish.
He held up Evelyn No. 2's head and added, “Though, it would have been much better if you had warned us before we fought her.”
“Eh?!” No. 5 froze at the sight of No. 2's mechanical head.
Leon's group had returned so quickly after leaving that No. 5 had assumed they had forgotten something. But instead...
“You made a head that looks exactly like Big Sister No. 2's?” No. 5 asked in astonishment.
Leon: “...” He took back what he had thought earlier. Evelyn No. 5's level of silliness had already surpassed Alicia's, reaching a solid 1.1 Alicias!
“Alicia, go explain it to her,” Leon sighed and instructed.
“I will... tell her... everything!” Alicia nodded solemnly. It seemed she also found the prospect of explaining the situation to No. 5 and getting her to believe it to be a daunting task.
Having sent No. 5 and Alicia off, Leon walked over to the somewhat dazed No. 1. “Evelyn No. 2 has been dealt with. Now, it's time to fulfill your end of the deal. Tell me where the Deep Diver and Evelyn Parker's alchemical manuscripts are.”
Evelyn No. 1 looked at Evelyn No. 2's deactivated head and nodded rapidly like a chicken pecking at rice. “Traitor! Traitor!” She pulled out a pen and paper and quickly began to write.
A moment later, Leon took the note, a flash of surprise crossing his eyes. “It's here? I actually didn't sense it when I came in?”
After uttering a word of praise, Leon ordered Scott to follow No. 1 and gather Evelyn Parker's alchemical manuscripts, while he himself returned to the room where he had first met No. 2.
Holding the silver alchemical core, Leon slowly spoke: “Evelyn No. 0, return to your initial form!”
As soon as his voice fell, two wire-like metal cords suddenly extended from the alchemical core. The metal cords connected to the room constructed of blackstone and moonrock, accompanied by the roar of an engine and the sound of spinning gears.
The entire black-and-white room rose from the ground, looking like an iceberg rising from beneath the sea's surface.
With a thunderous rumble, the room rose higher and higher, finally transforming into a small alchemical submarine over fifty meters long, twenty meters wide, and eight meters high.
From within the alchemical submarine, a crisp female voice rang out: “I am the intelligent entity loaded onto the Deep Diver, Evelyn No. 0. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
