Just a moment ago, as the flower demons were about to be submerged in venom, he had noticed that the divine seal he had recently given to Jian Huaishuang for emergencies had been activated.
Evil God Points were burning madly.
Chen Zhou sensed that Jian Huaishuang seemed to have encountered some tough characters on his end. With a wave of his hand, he directly allocated another 100,000 Evil God Points to him.
Jian Huaishuang was a Saint and was perfectly attuned to the divine seal.
With the support of this huge sum, never mind two snakes; even if two more dragons appeared, they would have their skins flayed off, so Chen Zhou was quite at ease.
Simultaneously, he also activated the divine seals of Faith Conferment for the three flower demons.
The explosion of the sea of flowers just now had burned a full 60,000 Evil God Points.
Although they were fighting for their dignity, the flower demons had shallow combat experience after all. Even if they had risen to the fifth-stage, there was a high probability they wouldn't be able to defeat Thousand-Tangle's battle-hardened subordinates.
What was the best solution?
Naturally, it was to crush them with absolute, overwhelming power.
Raw power trumps all technique.
Since they were his people, how could he let them engage in a life-and-death struggle against cruel demons right under his nose? If he couldn't provide protection to his believers, then what was the point of being an evil god for them to worship?
Chen Zhou faintly felt that his understanding of the divine path had deepened at this moment.
The divine path is born from wishes.
When all living beings entrust their faith to him and view him as their sole salvation and reliance, he must naturally provide his believers with the most solid protection.
As Chen Zhou extinguished the divine seal, the vast sea of alluring red flowers gradually receded, transforming back into specks of red light that merged into the flower demons' bodies.
The flower demons cheered and skipped about, unable to believe they had become so strong and won so easily.
Meanwhile, the eyes of the gathered demons grew even redder with greed.
They couldn't see the traces of divine power; they simply assumed all of this was thanks to those few pills from earlier.
Being able to directly elevate three useless flower-growing trash to the level of insta-killing fifth-stage demon cultivators, ignoring bottlenecks, and seemingly without any side effects—what kind of miraculous medicine was that?
This was simply a supreme treasure that could defy heaven to change fate!
Most of the great demons present knew that Thousand-Tangle's subordinates were top-tier poisonous plants, one in ten thousand. Yet, against the newly advanced flower demons, they hadn't even managed to stir up a ripple.
For a moment, countless greedy gazes circled around Chen Zhou.
However, hindered by the strength Chen Zhou had just displayed and those three demon envoy heads he had tossed out casually, no one dared to act rashly.
Even the Thousand-Tangle demon king had suffered a loss in silence; who else would dare to invite trouble? This was a massive slaughtering god who would start a fight at the slightest provocation, showing no respect even for the three envoys of the Toad Saint—killing them and bringing their heads as gifts. Now, he didn't even take the Thousand-Tangle demon king seriously.
No one wanted to follow in the footsteps of the three envoys.
The only two present who didn't seem to care were Poison-Wing and the Toad Saint.
The former's mind was elsewhere, his eyes flickering as he plotted something. The latter lay on the main seat, his attitude ambiguous, his thoughts unreadable.
The flower demons excitedly retreated behind Chen Zhou, chirping as they sought praise.
Piao looked at them and nodded seriously in approval. "Well done. When facing enemies, you should eat them like that."
"Mother said that children who aren't picky eaters are good children."
Chen Zhou also nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the three little ones. "Do you understand now? What are you fighting for?"
The flower demons' eyes were bright as they shouted in unison, "We fight for our lord!"
Chen Zhou was momentarily stunned.
He had originally wanted to teach them to fight for their dignity and for themselves, but he hadn't expected it to circle back to him in the end. He felt it was a bit strange, but looking at those three pairs of clear, fanatical eyes, he felt there was nothing wrong with it either.
"Lord, we didn't embarrass you, did we?" one of the boldest flower demons mustered the courage to ask. "Lord, we will cultivate hard. In the future, we will bloom an even more magnificent sea of flowers for you and for the City of the Wrongfully Dead!"
"We will plant flowers along every path you walk!"
Chen Zhou looked at their sincere eyes, and his heart stirred slightly. He smiled and nodded, not taking it too seriously; after all, a love for planting flowers was the nature of vegetation spirits. Let them plant; it would look quite nice, certainly better than a ground full of bones.
"Fine, I look forward to seeing it."
The flower demons were overjoyed, firmly etching this promise to their deity into their hearts. One day, they would surely make the entire Gloomlight Province bloom with a blood-red sea of flowers, letting everyone bathe in the lord's divine grace!
Just then, the system's notification sounded in Chen Zhou's ear.
【Three of your True Believers have undergone faith sublimation, transforming into Fanatic Believers.】
【You have gained Evil God Points: +1500.】
Chen Zhou was surprised; he hadn't expected this accidental success. He opened the panel and saw that he now had six Fanatic Believers: Ugly Hag, Plague Rat, and Hong Ling were joined by three new names below: Rongrong, Luoluo, and Yiyi.
Chen Zhou felt a bit ashamed. These believers were already fanatical enough to die for him, yet this was the first time he had learned the flower demons actually had names. He had always just called them 'little flower demons.' As their deity, he was far too remiss...
As the farce of a duel ended, the atmosphere in the hall became even more bizarre. Thousand-Tangle had lost both face and substance; she now wanted nothing more than to swallow Chen Zhou alive, but she was wary of his strength and dared not act.
"Hehehe..."
A low, raspy laugh drifted from the main seat. The Thousand-Eyed Toad Saint finally moved. His thousand-plus eyes shifted slightly, all falling upon Chen Zhou. Faint death qi flowed slowly through the hall along with his laughter.
"Splendid, truly splendid."
The Toad Saint's voice betrayed no emotion, carrying instead a hint of praise. "The Bone Temple Master has fine methods and fine pills."
"To be able to enlighten vegetation spirits to such an extent, it seems your attainment in divine souls and vitality has reached the pinnacle."
"I just wonder, from where did you learn such a method of defying heaven to change fate? Or perhaps... is this also a part of your temple's Mahayana Buddhism?"
The Toad Saint's words were clearly a probe. He didn't care that Thousand-Tangle had lost a few subordinates, nor did he care about the flower demons' lives. What he cared about was the nature of that power—that power which could instantly boost strength and carried a dense aura of death qi.
Chen Zhou was not polite at all, leaning back grandly in his bone chair as he met the Toad Saint's hundreds of scrutinizing gazes and the wary, greedy eyes of the surrounding demons.
"Mere trivial tricks," Chen Zhou said casually, as if what had just happened was an insignificant trifle.
"As for Buddhism... the Buddha saves those who are fated. If the Toad Saint is interested, why not join my Bone Temple as a guardian vajra? This venerable one would naturally teach you everything without reservation."
As soon as these words came out, all the demons were shocked. Asking the dignified Thousand-Eyed Toad Saint to be his doorkeeping guardian? This was far too arrogant!
