Chapter 190 | I Accidentally Became the Training Target

Fang Xuan felt... an itch somewhere.

Was Senior Sister sneaking a taste again?

If she was, she was on her own; he truly didn't have the time to feed her right now.

He had no lead on the laws of time, and Senior Sister was constantly interrupting him, trying to seduce him...

That had to be it. He would have to give her a severe punishment later.

He opened his eyes.

"Senior—"

Wait... no one was there?

The bed was empty; he was the only one in the room.

Fang Xuan paused, momentarily stunned.

He pushed the door open and walked out of the house.

In the courtyard, Ning Xian was slumped over the stone table.

Hearing the door open, she turned her head groggily.

When she saw it was Fang Xuan, her eyes brightened slightly.

"Junior Brother..."

Her voice was soft and delicate.

Fang Xuan cleared his throat... He had actually misunderstood her.

She wasn't sneaking a taste; she had been sleeping.

He walked over and sat down beside her.

"Senior Sister, why are you sleeping out here?"

Ning Xian blinked, not yet fully awake.

"Waiting for you..." she said, her voice still airy. "I waited for so long..."

Fang Xuan looked at her.

It was a well-known fact that Senior Sister was always dazed when she first woke up, and she became exceptionally clingy.

It was quite cute.

He reached out and gently ruffled her hair.

Ning Xian narrowed her eyes slightly, a look of pure enjoyment on her face.

Then she suddenly remembered something and pulled a stern little face.

"You... you aren't allowed to just rub Senior Sister's head whenever you want..."

But her voice remained soft, carrying no threat whatsoever.

Fang Xuan couldn't help but chuckle.

"Alright, alright. I won't."

He withdrew his hand and looked at her.

"Senior Sister, how long have I been cultivating?"

Ning Xian thought for a moment.

"Thirty-nine hours and fifteen minutes."

Fang Xuan was taken aback. She remembered that precisely?

Ning Xian continued, "You didn't open your eyes to look at me once, and you didn't say a single word to me."

She looked at him, a hint of grievance in her eyes.

Then she suddenly asked, "How is your comprehension of the laws of time going?"

Fang Xuan sighed.

"It's very difficult."

"Then why not switch to a different law?" Ning Xian suggested. "Practice something else first and take your time with the laws of time."

Fang Xuan looked at her with a touch of helplessness.

"Senior Sister, have you forgotten? You've lost your cultivation realm."

With her current state, if he injected even a little more of the laws of lust into her, she would probably turn into someone who only knew how to... cough.

"Oh..." she responded, appearing to only just remember that fact.

Fang Xuan could only smile helplessly again.

He wondered when Senior Sister's ditziness would improve.

Then again, being in a mortal frame did make one prone to mental fog...

He asked, "Are you hungry?"

Ning Xian looked up at him.

Her eyes were misty and hazy.

"Very, very hungry," she said.

Fang Xuan stood up. "Then I'll go cook."

"Not that kind of hungry."

Ning Xian grabbed his sleeve, her voice soft and pleading.

Fang Xuan looked down at her.

She sat on the stone stool, looking up at him with eyes full of mist.

He was all too familiar with that look.

Here she goes again... Senior Sister was trying to seduce him again.

He could only take a deep breath.

"Senior Sister, I still need to cultivate..."

"You've already been cultivating for thirty-two hours," Ning Xian interrupted, her voice sounding pained. "And you just said the laws of time are hard. Just switch to another law..."

Fang Xuan: "..."

Seeing him remain silent, Ning Xian stood up from the stone stool and walked over to him.

She reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist.

She buried her face in his chest.

"Junior Brother..." her muffled voice drifted up. "I missed you..."

Fang Xuan looked down at her.

Who could possibly resist this?

What happened to his cold and aloof Senior Sister?

Perhaps becoming a mortal had made her emotions more intense and harder to suppress.

She was acting like a child.

Wait...?

No... something was wrong.

Even if she was dazed from sleep, she wouldn't normally act this spoiled... and since when did she become so silly?

Wait a minute.

How did Senior Sister... get shorter?!

He looked down carefully.

Ning Xian was still nestled in his arms, acting as clingy as ever.

But Fang Xuan could clearly feel that she was shorter than before.

Not just by a little, but by several centimeters.

He gently pushed her back, holding her by the shoulders to look her up and down.

Ning Xian looked back at him, bewildered.

"What's wrong?"

Fang Xuan didn't speak; he just stared at her.

This face... it seemed a bit more youthful? Her eyes were larger, her chin more pointed?

This wasn't right.

Was time still flowing backward...?

Two years ago, Senior Sister should have had the body of a twenty-five-year-old. Looking at her now... was she twenty? Eighteen? Or...!

No way...

He quickly reached out to check her spirit bone foundation.

Ning Xian let him touch her; after all, it wasn't the first time.

After checking, Fang Xuan fell into a long silence.

Her foundation indicated she was... roughly nineteen years old.

At least it was still acceptable... he had almost made a terrible mistake.

...

Ning Xian looked up at him, her face full of confusion.

"Junior Brother, what is it?"

Fang Xuan took a deep breath.

"Senior Sister, do you feel any changes in yourself?"

Ning Xian thought for a bit.

"Not really... it's just... I feel like I slept for a very long time, and you were there when I woke up..."

As she spoke, she suddenly let out a yawn.

Fang Xuan watched her.

They had to get out of here fast!

"Senior Sister, I'm going back to my cultivation. I need to master the laws of time as soon as possible."

Ning Xian froze, and then her eyes began to redden again.

"You... you're going back to cultivate again?"

Seeing her on the verge of tears, Fang Xuan could only pretend not to notice.

He would treat whatever this 'childish' Senior Sister said as nonsense.

"I've already waited for thirty-two hours..." Ning Xian's voice began to tremble. "You're ignoring me... I finally got to see you, and now you're going back to cultivate again..."

She lowered her head, tears welling up in her eyes.

Fang Xuan remained silent.

"Alright, let's go have some food-food."

Ning Xian looked up at him again.

Her eyes were swimming with moisture, and tiny tears clung to her eyelashes.

"I don't want food-food. You didn't do anything today, so you have to compensate me with three strands of the laws of lust. Otherwise, I'll punish you severely."
