Chapter 87 | I Accidentally Became the Training Target

(T/N: This chapter may contain explicit scenes; reader discretion advised)

Out of the main hall, the sunlight was just right.

Fang Xuan steadied himself, and immediately saw Ning Xian still waiting under a nearby green pine.

Her cool eyes were looking towards him.

Fang Xuan walked over quickly, naturally took Ning Xian's slightly cool hand, and turned to walk down the mountain.

“How was it?” Ning Xian let him hold her hand, turning her head with some nervousness to ask.

Fang Xuan didn't hide anything, simply explaining Lu Qingsong's arrangements as they walked: “Lu Qingsong wants Wu Hao and me to participate in the Southern Wilderness Dao Conference, located in some Tianlan Kingdom. While there, he also wants me to find an opportunity to kill Wu Hao.”

“Wu Hao...” Ning Xian repeated the name softly, a hint of thought flashing across her cool brows.

“Is that the one who entered the Transformation Realm three hundred and forty-two years ago? His grandson?”

“Uh... probably...” Fang Xuan wasn't sure how to respond. 'How does senior sister know so much?'

Ning Xian suddenly spoke again, her voice softer than usual: “Can I... can I come with you?”

After speaking, she seemed to feel that her request was superfluous, and might even become a burden.

She pursed her lips, her eyes slightly lowered.

Though her strength was recovering much faster than expected, with her spirit bone reshaped and sword intent recongealed,

The time was still short. Against veteran Transformation Realm cultivators like Wu Yi or Lu Qingsong, her chances of victory remained slim, less than thirty percent.

She couldn't protect him, yet she always wanted to guide him, to keep him close...

.......

Fang Xuan stopped, turning to look at her.

'Senior sister is getting disheartened again; I need to comfort her a little.'

“Yes, alright...” he gently responded.

Just two simple words eased the uneasy strings of Ning Xian's heart.

A warmth also quietly spread through her.

She looked up at Fang Xuan, seeing the smile in his eyes, devoid of any reluctance or disdain.

'He's so... obedient.'

This realization sparked another, bolder, even somewhat mischievous thought.

'Since Junior Brother is so obedient... can she...?'

'Perhaps, coax him a little?'

'For instance... wouldn't it be normal for a senior sister and junior brother to cultivate together daily for the sake of advancing their cultivation?'

'Or perhaps...'

'Junior Brother, your constitution is special now, and your yang poison seems to be showing signs of acting up again. Let Senior Sister help you regulate it... This is just treatment; don't overthink it...'

Her mind raced with these thoughts that would have been unthinkable before, and she felt her face begin to flush slightly.

'Good... very good... excellent...'

She decided to try coaxing him first.

.......

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to speak with a serious and proper expression: “J-Junior Brother, your hand... it’s so hot.”

“Are you unable to suppress the yang qi in your body again?”

“Hm?” Fang Xuan tilted his head, a little puzzled.

“Senior Sister, your hand is too cold.”

“No... it’s not,” Ning Xian instinctively retorted, but couldn't find a stronger reason. She could only turn her head slightly, avoiding his probing gaze, her earlobes tinged crimson.

Fang Xuan chuckled inwardly, but kept his face straight, cooperating by turning his head to pretend to look at the roadside scenery, not letting her catch him smiling.

“It’s just that Senior Sister’s hand is too cold,” he insisted deliberately.

“It’s not!” Ning Xian grew a little anxious at his twisting of facts.

She turned to him, her cool eyes meeting his, trying to add conviction with her gaze.

Unfortunately, her flushed face and dodging eyes held no deterrent power.

“It is,” Fang Xuan continued to tease.

“It’s not!” Ning Xian retorted with righteous indignation. 'How could it be her hand that was cold?'

“Senior Sister is always cold, even her words.”

Hearing Fang Xuan's words, Ning Xian quickly spoke up again: “N-no, I... I just don’t talk much.”

Her eagerness to explain diminished her usual cool detachment, adding a touch of vivid frustration.

In Fang Xuan’s eyes, she was simply...

'My wife, Senior Sister, is adorably breaking the rules...'

He couldn't resist, lowering his head to gently press a kiss on her forehead.

“!” Ning Xian froze slightly again, the warm sensation on her forehead rapidly spreading throughout her body.

She widened her eyes, looking at Fang Xuan’s smiling face so close to hers, knowing he was teasing her again.

'Junior Brother’s temper is getting increasingly mischievous; he always teases her. It seems... she'll have to properly discipline him!'

An inexplicable impulse drove her. Before Fang Xuan could pull away, she suddenly reached out, pulling him back with her.

Fang Xuan was caught off guard, his back gently resting against a tree trunk by the mountain path.

Ning Xian closed in, rising slightly on her tiptoes.

Then she tilted up her small face, which she tried hard to keep stern, and, under Fang Xuan's gaze, kissed him somewhat awkwardly.

Their cool lips met, carrying her unique cold fragrance.

Fang Xuan was a little stunned.

'Senior Sister has been so forward lately... it’s incredibly stimulating...'

.......

System: 【Detected master Ning Xian implemented intimate training against training target Fang Xuan! training value +66!】

【training task guidance! Suggested reference: Stop spiritual energy suppression, cause yang poison to go out of control, then tell master Ning Xian you want to be alone, and try to break free and escape!】

【Complete additional reward: Basic reward—spirit bun, upgraded to brown sugar bun】

Fang Xuan: “...?”

'Make him push away his fragrant and soft Senior Sister, pretend his yang poison is acting up, and then run away? Can doing that truly... lead to Senior Sister harshly training him?'

Fang Xuan gritted his teeth. He had to do it.

'If he couldn't bear to let go of Senior Sister’s embrace, he wouldn't gain any training value.'

First, he removed the spiritual energy's suppression of the yang qi, and even actively stimulated it a bit more.

However, the effect... seemed a little excessive.

Almost the instant his spiritual energy loosened, he felt the temperature on his face surge, and his breathing became uncontrollably rapid.

.......

Ning Xian was immersed in the awkward forceful kiss when she suddenly felt the potent surge of his yang poison.

She pulled back slightly.

“Junior Brother, you...” Ning Xian’s heart tightened. Ignoring her shyness, she quickly reached out to take his pulse point.

“Let me help you...”

“No need,” Fang Xuan caught her outstretched hand.

“Senior Sister... just let me be alone...”

As he spoke, he tried to push Ning Xian away and walk to the side.

Ning Xian was both anxious and angry at his reaction.

'Why is junior brother so disobedient when his yang poison flares up?'

'If he runs off like this, and loses control of his mind, and his spiritual energy rampages, what if it damages his foundation?'

Even worse... what if he encounters some ill-intentioned female cultivators along the way, like those seductive women from the Joyous Union Sect...

Her mind instantly conjured images of...

Fang Xuan being taken by another woman, and her being unable to do anything, only able to watch as he was taken advantage of.

'Being a powerless senior sister!'

'Absolutely... not.'

'Junior Brother is so good; he can only be hers. No one else should dare touch him.'

At this thought, her heart felt tightly gripped by an inexplicable coldness...

.......

“You’re not allowed to leave,” Ning Xian’s voice suddenly turned cold, and she firmly grasped Fang Xuan’s wrist, preventing him from breaking free.

Fang Xuan stopped struggling and looked at her: “There’s no need to trouble Senior Sister, I can manage myself...”

He continued to act, forcefully pulling his hand back.

“I said, you’re not allowed to leave,” Ning Xian said, enunciating each word.

She looked at Fang Xuan's stubborn and distressed expression, and her momentary hesitation was instantly overwhelmed by the strong thought that 'she must control him'.

'Sometimes, junior brother is truly too disobedient.'

'It seems she can only properly train him.'

'She will make him understand when to be obedient, and whose words to listen to.'

.......

Ning Xian gripped his hand harder, pulling Fang Xuan back without allowing resistance.

Then, with her other hand, she quickly touched several of his acupoints, temporarily sealing the flow of some of his spiritual energy, mainly to prevent him from running off.
