In his mind, the concept that bestowed Feats appeared once again.
As Lynn's Charisma attribute increased, his connection with the world grew closer, and he now seemed to be able to faintly capture the information stream being transmitted outward by this concept.
A vast amount of chaotic and disorganized information, originating from this concept, radiated directly into Lynn's mind.
For example, this was what he heard right now:
“How does this guy form a new Feat every few days?”
“Does he have Feats for all of his attributes? Is he a dragon?”
“But why is his soul human? Should we report this?”
Lynn could capture information like this, as well as the impatient emotions it conveyed.
Lynn didn't know whether everyone could capture the information transmitted by this concept, or if there was something unique about himself.
Given that other people in this world also formed Feats, he could ask other class-holders about it later.
However, judging from the information transmitted by this entity, it seemed to be merely a subordinate within some sort of system.
The gods? Or was it related to the planes?
Lynn kept this matter in mind.
He tried thinking of some trivial things in his mind related to this concept.
In this way, Lynn wanted to test whether the other party could react to his thoughts, thereby determining if this entity could be communicated with.
Unfortunately, the concept seemed completely unable to perceive the information Lynn sent out.
Having failed in his attempt, Lynn had no choice but to give up on the idea of communication and instead check the new Feats brought by the concept this time.
The optional Intelligence Feats were as follows:
【Evocation Archer】: Your School of Evocation magic can ignore partial cover by turning, and your casting range is extended.
【War Caster】: You have already stepped onto the path of a battle mage. Your seasoned combat experience allows you to chant spells faster when fighting enemies in close quarters, reducing chanting time by ten to thirty percent.
【Undead Slayer】: Your spells are exceptionally effective against undead creatures, granting them a faint Holy Light effect.
Among them, the effect of 【Evocation Archer】 somewhat overlapped with the passive skill 「Evocation Control」, so he dismissed it immediately.
Out of the remaining two Feats, Lynn ultimately chose 【War Caster】.
The Holy Light enchantment of 【Undead Slayer】 was great, but it could only be used against the undead, making its applications too situational.
After selecting his Feat, Lynn exited the 《Monster Identification Manual》 and looked once more at the two girls lying dazed on the stone table.
With a sigh, Lynn carried the two of them back to their respective rooms.
However, the rapid increase in his Intelligence left him feeling a bit mentally drained, and he was in desperate need of catch-up sleep.
Thus, Lynn also returned to his own room and fell fast asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.
...
The next day, Lupa only slowly woke up when the sunlight began to stream through the window.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she felt her cheek was a bit wet.
Turning her head to look, she saw that a large portion of her pillow had been soaked by her drool, making it feel sticky.
Lupa sat up slowly.
Looking around, she found herself in her own room.
Hadn't she been eating fungus cake with Lynn? How did she end up back in her room?
Lupa's memory still lingered on her saying that Lynn's face was very red.
What happened after that?
And then... and then...
A strange sensation suddenly surged up from her tailbone, sending a shiver through Lupa's entire body.
Perhaps it was just her imagination, but the base of her tail still seemed to retain the touch of Lynn's palm, as if it was still being caressed.
Her tail had been touched...
Lupa's face gradually flushed red.
But just then, a knock sounded at the door, followed by Aurora's voice.
“Are you awake, little Lupa? It's time for breakfast.”
The room rates at the Moonflower Inn included breakfast, but it was only served during a limited window, and latecomers would miss out.
However, for familiar guests like Lynn and Lupa, Aurora would usually come to remind them in person.
“Coming.”
Lupa hurriedly got out of bed, took off the clothes she had worn all day—which already smelled slightly of sweat—and changed into a clean set.
Pushing open the door, she saw the elf standing there, smiling at her.
“Sister Aurora, where's Lynn?” Lupa asked casually.
The elf didn't answer at first, her smile taking on a slightly mischievous tone.
Then she spoke, “Lynn? He got up early and is about to head out.”
“Huh?”
Although Lupa had grown somewhat accustomed to Lynn's tireless, hardworking nature, he had just taken on a new commission the day before yesterday, spent the entire night busy, and even encountered a Tier 2 monster. On top of that, he had eaten the mentally stimulating Moon Fungus Cake last night.
Yet, only a few hours had passed, and Lynn was already heading out again. Lupa couldn't help but feel a little worried.
Although Lynn was very powerful, would it be too dangerous for a Mage to go adventuring alone?
Why didn't he call me?
She hurried back into her room, quickly put on her plate mail, grabbed her tower shield [Bastion] and rushed out.
“Aren't you going to eat breakfast, Lupa?” Aurora asked from behind.
“No... I'll just grab some dry rations and eat on the way!”
Lupa grabbed a few slices of coarse bread spread with cheese from the kitchen. Since she didn't know where Lynn was, she headed straight for the inn's main entrance.
Sure enough, at the inn's entrance, she ran into Lynn, who was just about to leave.
“Lynn—?”
After greeting him, Lupa realized that Lynn wasn't even wearing his leather armor, so he didn't look like he was going out for an adventure.
“Hmm?”
Lynn, on the other hand, was rather puzzled to see Lupa fully armed.
“Lupa, are you heading out for a commission?”
Generally speaking, putting on plate mail was no easy task. Even though Lupa's plate mail wasn't a tin-can-like full suit of plate armor, it would still take her two or three minutes to put on.
Therefore, on normal days, Lynn rarely saw Lupa wearing plate mail unless she was practicing her skills.
Lupa shook her head blankly, then quickly asked, “Are you going out?”
Lynn nodded, then lifted the iron-banded wooden box in his hand, which Aurora had temporarily lent him.
Inside the wooden box were three pieces of Moon Fungus Cake wrapped in waxed paper. Lynn was planning to head to the Mages' Association to deliver them to Gray.
He also had a portion for Minari.
Lynn intended to ask Minari to brew a potion that would allow him to enter the interior of the volcano.
Once he condensed his class, he could begin challenging the volcano.
