After sorting out his attire and luggage, Li Xiuman naturally had no interest in continuing to grind levels.
In the White Bone Dungeon, he had researched teleportation magic like a madman, and his brain was still buzzing.
Now, he just wanted to return to his little house and lie down for a good night's sleep.
“Time to head back.”
He made his way back from the thirtieth floor.
This infiltration had yielded a massive harvest: a large pile of molten refined iron, a small pile of Red-Faced Square Gold, one intact body of an Ore Beast Wolf, one Golem Core, one dungeon core, five Nine-Angled Fire Crystals (with two of them already used), a small pile of Octagonal Fire Spirits, a mass of death energy, and the entire set of armor from the adventurer party.
Though he had almost been cleared as a dungeon boss, the harvest was indeed so rich that he couldn't hold back his grin.
Though, as a skeleton, he didn't have a face, let alone corners of his mouth.
It took him over a week to make his way back from the thirtieth floor to the first floor.
He exited the dungeon.
The sun, which he hadn't seen in who knew how long, floated in the sky. If he were a believer, he probably should have praised the greatness of the Goddess of Light.
Li Xiuman also wanted to clasp his hands together and sing praises to the Goddess of Light.
After all, if not for the holy light of the Goddess of Light this time, he would have truly been a goner.
But then again, a skeleton praising the Goddess of Light would probably just disgust the deity. Thus, he gave up on the idea for now.
He walked toward his little cottage.
Pushing open the door, he entered.
“Welcome back, Master!”
“Thank you for your hard work, Master!”
“Did you run into any trouble this time, Master?”
“Do you need me to attend to your bath, Master?!”
A whole nest of vampires.
His head throbbed.
He had to find a way to get rid of them.
Li Xiuman rubbed his temples—or where they would be—and walked into the house.
Taking off his tattered clothes, Li Xiuman walked toward the bathroom, carrying Jetis by the collar and tossing her out when she tried to sneak in.
Soaking in the warm bath, Li Xiuman let out a long sigh of relief.
The bones of his body had restored to their healthy gray color, and the signs of decay had vanished.
The Rib Sword in his chest was constantly swallowing the remaining death energy within his body.
“Let's see how my White Bone Dungeon is doing.”
Li Xiuman took out the dungeon core. As he soaked comfortably, he observed the scenes within the dungeon.
The adventurer party led by the Lv. 34 Swordsman had already cleared down to the twenty-fourth floor. They were frantically searching the entire floor for the entrance to the next level or the boss room.
Having searched for a whole week, their complexions were looking rather grim.
They could never have imagined that the boss of the White Bone Dungeon had already run away, taking the boss room with him.
Thus, theoretically, as long as Li Xiuman didn't go back, the White Bone Dungeon could never be cleared.
After watching the impotently raging party for a while, Li Xiuman put away the dungeon core.
Thud!
A noise echoed from outside the door.
It seemed like the vampires were causing a racket again.
It seemed he really had to find a way to settle these vampires elsewhere, or his little house would never know peace.
Currently, there were only a few vampires in the house. The rest had entered the dungeon in batches to train themselves, as planned.
He stood up, dried the moisture on his bones, put on his clothes, and left the bathroom.
“All of you, go explore the dungeon. Whoever raises their level the fastest will receive a name from me.”
He dismissed them easily.
He really was a little demon who played with hearts.
Speaking of demons, he wondered how things were on Lucia's end.
In the dungeon, he had ruthlessly bullied those succubi. They probably wouldn't let the matter slide easily.
May the Goddess of Light protect him and grant those demons a horrible death.
He climbed the stairs to the loft.
Ring-a-ling.
The white feather hanging on the window swayed in the wind, its bell chiming pleasantly.
Li Xiuman approached and opened the mailbox beneath the window. Sure enough, a letter lay inside.
He opened it.
Dear Xiuman,
Heading all the way north, the weather seems to be getting colder and colder.
While crossing a snow-capped mountain along the way, I encountered a snowy-white giant wolf at the summit.
I fought with it and sustained some minor injuries.
Of course, I was the one who won in the end!
It was an excellent opponent, and fighting it helped improve my Swordsmanship a lot.
I also left one of its canine teeth at the bottom of the envelope as a gift for you.
By the way, I heard that on the mountains further north, there is a substance called Congealed Ice that can heal those on the verge of death.
I wonder if it can help restore your flesh.
I'll go check it out along the way.
Written by Ilu Mantield on the snow mountain.
After reading, Li Xiuman felt the envelope and indeed detected something hard inside.
It was a pristine white fang about as long as his palm.
[Wolf God's Fang: The tooth of a Lv. 77 snow wolf worshipped as a deity by the inhabitants of the snow mountains. Incredibly sharp, it contains the power of the snow mountains.]
Though he lacked flesh, Li Xiuman could still feel the cold sensation through his bones.
It was as if he were holding a block of solid ice rather than a tooth.
“...Holy... crap.”
As Li Xiuman read the item description, the image of Ilu battling the giant wolf involuntarily sprang to mind.
That girl had actually pulled out a deity's tooth.
Wait a minute.
She said she won... She couldn't have climbed a snow mountain and slain their god, right?
Just how powerful had Ilu grown after obtaining the legendary Glacial Seal Sword?
“...I shouldn't think too deeply about it.”
Li Xiuman shook his head, carefully stowed the fang away, and put it into his storage space.
[Ding! Requirements met. Storage Lv. 2 has leveled up to Storage Lv. 3.]
It really was precious, immediately leveling up his Storage.
“How should I write my reply?”
Li Xiuman's experience in the dungeon was too bizarre. It was better not to mention it and make Ilu worry.
My beautiful Lady Ilu,
I have received your letter, and I thank you very much for your gift.
Hearing about your battle with the giant wolf is truly admirable.
I believe that in the future epics of the Sword Saint Ilu Mantield, this battle of growth will surely be recorded.
Thank you for also keeping my physical restoration in mind.
I probably won't be long before I leave White Bear City to follow in your adventurous footsteps.
I hope to also leave my tracks on the very snow mountain where you fought the giant wolf.
Xiuman Pound Li.
He lifted the writing paper, blew on it, folded it, and placed it inside the envelope.
However, Li Xiuman felt a bit too embarrassed to send it.
No matter what, Ilu had sent him a gift, so shouldn't he return the favor?
But that wolf fang was simply too valuable; he had nothing of equal worth to offer in return.
If he didn't include a gift, wouldn't he just be living off a woman?
...Actually, that seemed to be exactly the case.
No, he absolutely had to find a matching gift to send along.
Li Xiuman put the envelope back in the drawer and began to ponder what gift would be suitable.
