The lizard's corpse quickly vanished. With the obstruction gone, Cheng Shuili finally saw a piece of lizard skin lying on the ground.
Is this... a loot drop?
Cheng Shuili carefully bypassed the terrifyingly useful desiccant, bent down, and picked up the lizard skin.
【Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizard Skin】
【Description: This is a very good material! It is recommended to store it carefully! We also suggest you follow our advice!】
A material.
Cheng Shuili tucked the item directly into the Abyss Ring. If there was any place better for storage, she hadn't found it.
After dealing with the spoils, Cheng Shuili shifted her gaze to the punctured can.
The scattered desiccant seemed to have finally absorbed enough moisture and vanished into thin air like foam. Once the item obtained this time disappeared, the can returned to its original state.
To be honest, Cheng Shuili still felt a bit uneasy about it.
The items dropped by this can couldn't be called useless, but they were certainly not useful! Plus, they were dangerous!
That was very far from ideal.
Cheng Shuili hesitated for a moment, but still couldn't bear to part with the can that had come from the special equipment box. She bent down to pick it up and shoved it back into the Abyss Ring.
This thing was not suitable for daily use at all; it was meant for gambling when backed into a corner. What if it happened to drop something useful?
Right?
Better to keep it.
Cheng Shuili reassured herself, and she and Su Rui returned to the vehicle one after the other.
Su Rui had originally wanted to ask where the thing that had sucked the lizard dry came from, but she understood the moment she saw the punctured can on the ground.
She couldn't help but marvel; was it any wonder Cheng Shuili was ranked number one?
Whether it was her observational skills during combat, her techniques for defeating enemies, or even her thought process, Cheng Shuili was someone most people could never hope to match!
Cheng Shuili didn't realize she had unintentionally shown off again. She had just received a notification from 001 saying that Xinxue had tagged her in the group chat, and she was now opening the message to check it.
【Xinxue Chuji】: @Angry Crow Takes Flight, Boss! Latest news! Several people on the regional channel are saying they encountered lizard monsters. I feel like it's a bit strange.
It was indeed strange.
Cheng Shuili narrowed her eyes. If she wasn't mistaken, the lizard monsters these people were talking about were the Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizards she had just encountered.
She didn't rush to reach a conclusion but first opened the regional channel to take a look.
"There's a giant lizard!!! Wuwuwu! It's so scary! Good thing I parked my car nearby. I saw it was a monster and ran into the vehicle. Now the giant lizard is ramming my car! It's so terrifying!"
"No, isn't it just a monster? We've been surviving for almost a month, right? A pathetic lizard scares you like this? Honestly, if you're like this, you're a dead end. It's only a matter of time."
"That's too harsh."
"Is it the Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizard? I encountered one too. I didn't know what it was called at first, but after killing it, it dropped a skin, and the skin is called this. It's just average, right? Isn't it just a monster from a wooden supply crate? Why is there a need to come out and shout about it?"
"It's this one, it's this one! I encountered it too, but mine crawled out of a bronze chest. To be honest, it was really terrifying. Its tongue came straight for my throat. If I didn't have a habit of wearing a collar, I would be dead by now."
"??? What are you talking about, upstairs?"
"No? What kind of collar can stop this thing? I encountered it too, and it even punctured my shield, damn it! You can stop it with a pathetic collar?"
Cheng Shuili was also a bit curious, but unfortunately, this person didn't post again.
"This skin is listed as a material. I wonder what it can be used for."
"So everyone encountered it? It's just that some were from bronze supply crates and some were from wooden supply crates?"
Actually, there were silver chests too.
Cheng Shuili added silently.
No.
Cheng Shuili's thoughts paused. She had never seen a scene where all players encountered the same monster, but she had seen the system send items to all players!
The Extreme Heat water, the Famine designated player duel cards, and now... was it using this method to distribute the Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizard skin to players?
She was almost certain in an instant that this item was definitely useful! And there was a high probability it was something needed for the next disaster!
It's just... didn't these things usually come out on Sundays?
Why did it change to Friday this time? Could it be... that there are new changes coming this Sunday?
That was the most likely possibility.
But the more important thing now is...
Cheng Shuili opened a private chat with Xinxue Chuji.
【Angry Crow Takes Flight】: Look for anyone selling Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizard skin on the trading channel. If the price is right, collect some.
She was afraid Xinxue would misunderstand her meaning again, so she specifically added a sentence.
【Angry Crow Takes Flight】: Try to find cheap ones, don't collect too many.
【Xinxue Chuji】: Got it, Boss!
Should be understood now, right?
Cheng Shuili looked at the four characters Xinxue replied with and remained silent for a moment, then opened the regional channel again to see what they were talking about.
"So... the current situation is that everyone encountered a lizard monster?"
"That's right, I encountered one too."
"Aren't the monsters from bronze supply crates stronger than those from wooden ones? Is there a difference in their drops? Who has a bronze one? Can you post the drops for us to see?"
"I have a bronze one, 【Venomous Throat-Slitting Lizard Skin】, take a look."
"I have a wooden one, how come it's exactly the same as mine?"
More than that.
Cheng Shuili clicked to take a look; this was also identical to the one from her silver chest.
"This isn't fair at all. The monsters we bronze players fought were clearly stronger than yours, so why are the drops the same? Wuwu!"
Wuwu.
Cheng Shuili thought expressionlessly that she, the silver chest owner, hadn't even complained yet; what were the bronze ones complaining about?
However... what could this thing actually be used for?
Protective purposes?
Cheng Shuili suddenly had a very strong premonition: could the next disaster be acid rain?
Counting it up, the cooldown for the 【Gift of the Great God of Prophecy】 should be over.
Cheng Shuili pulled out the item that looked like a magical girl transformation device, shouted "Full Body Transformation~" in a chuunibyou fashion, and under Su Rui's gaze—which clearly thought she was an idiot—finally learned what the next disaster would be.
Acid rain.
It really was acid rain.
Cheng Shuili felt as if this was expected. She didn't rush to inform others of the news, but instead took out an Energy Stone and went to the workstation to try and improve the 【Basic Vehicle Rainproof Tarp Blueprint】 again.
But unfortunately, it failed again.
Cheng Shuili frowned, her expression clearly showing her annoyance. But there was nothing she could do; her luck was truly nothing to write home about.
She gritted her teeth and thought indignantly that she would have to make Su Rui try tomorrow.
Cheng Shuili opened the group chat and sent the message out.
Xinxue, the 24-hour surfer, was always the first to receive it.
【Xinxue Chuji】: Acid rain? Could the lizard skin we were given be made into some kind of rainproof item? Boss, do you have the blueprint?
Cheng Shuili: "..."
Asking about the one thing she didn't have.
Unhappy as she was, Cheng Shuili still answered the question.
