Chapter 69 | I Broke the Survival Game with My BUG Physique

In the end, the lunch turned out to be spicy rabbit meat.

The two rabbits were fat and sturdy. Wan Yi served a portion of rice for herself, with half a rabbit for each person!

The bright red, oily sauce mixed with the rice offered a sensation of numbing heat first, followed by the spice.

It was delicious, as always!

Cheng Shuili was already used to it, and she had run out of compliments long ago.

If she were asked to praise Wan Yi's cooking now, Cheng Shuili would have to rack her brains just to squeeze out a single word.

This was the sense of powerlessness one feels in a long-term relationship.

But the other two were still full of wonder. Liang Shanbo hadn't eaten many meals like this, and Xinxue was eating proper rice for the first time!

【Liang Shanbo vs. Pig】: Sister Wan Yi! This spicy rabbit meat is absolutely divine!! I almost cried when I took the first bite! The rabbit meat is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, infused with the numbing spice of Sichuan peppercorns and the fragrance of chili; even the bones are flavorful! It’s a complete waste of talent for you not to open a restaurant!

When New Snow Clearing took her first bite, she also nearly shed tears.

After silently congratulating herself once more for following Crow, she opened their group chat.

【New Snow Clearing】: So delicious! So delicious! It really is just so, so, so delicious!

【New Snow Clearing】: I’m not cultured and can’t think of any adjectives, but I sure know how to beg for food! Sister Wan Yi! Please be sure to call me next time you cook. I’ll fly over with my own bowl and chopsticks!!!

Cheng Shuili smiled as she read the messages.

Well.

Two more fanboys.

Despite the praise, Wan Yi naturally couldn't provide meals for everyone.

The rice jar in Wan Yi's vehicle was hitting rock bottom, and she was currently worrying about it. Seeing these two messages of praise, she just smiled and didn't say anything else.

The situation was that while Crow had provided plenty of meat and seasonings, and the food truck could keep the fire going...

But!

The staple food was just completely gone!

Someone might ask, if there's no rice, why not eat noodles? Why don't noodles count as a staple?

Flour was even rarer than rice!

How many days ago was it that they last opened alkaline noodles?

Wan Yi fell silent, feeling regretful as she recalled where every grain of rice had gone, and finally, she helplessly opened a private window to Crow to inform her of this tragic news.

【Wan Yi】: Crow, our staple food is gone. There's only enough rice for us to cook two bowls of porridge tonight, and I haven't even seen flour, let alone had any.

【Wan Yi】: Crow, we can only live on meat and vegetables from now on!

Cheng Shuili was stunned for three seconds after reading the message. Once she confirmed what the person had sent, she shoveled the rice into her mouth in silence.

Actually... living on just meat and vegetables...

That isn't such a bad thing, right?

Still, not eating staple foods really isn't ideal.

Cheng Shuili had plenty of game coins. As if the system were worried she wouldn't have anywhere to spend them, it had even sent her a Trading Post teleportation card.

It was time to visit the Trading Post again.

Cheng Shuili set down her bowl and chopsticks and typed a reply to Wan Yi on the keyboard.

【Angry Crow Takes Flight】: I'll head to the Trading Post and buy some.

【Wan Yi】: Is that really okay?

【Angry Crow Takes Flight】: Mm.

Wan Yi stared at the message on the screen, her fingers hovering over the keyboard for a few seconds.

"Crow... really can solve anything."

Truly... she deserved to be number one on the leaderboard.

Wan Yi was not someone who gave in easily, as one could tell from the group chat.

Xinxue and Liang Shanbo called Crow 'Boss' with genuine submission, but only Wan Yi would occasionally use the title with a hint of sarcasm.

She had always been competitive. She took first place in school, and because she loved cooking, she became a chef right after graduation, working her way up from an apprentice!

She became a true master chef with a first-tier professional certificate!

She had achieved so much success that she possessed a sense of blind confidence.

In Wan Yi's eyes, there was nothing she couldn't do.

Until she entered this game.

The system detected her professional certification and provided her with a food truck at the start, and the supply crates she opened contained mostly ingredients.

This was a blessing, but also a curse.

She didn't have to worry about food, and her meals were better than most people's, but life consisted of more than just eating. For the first few days, she slept on the kitchen counter every night, until her vehicle was upgraded for the first time...

Life seemed to be getting better.

But then she realized that without a refrigerator, the things she opened would spoil quickly.

She had helplessly posted in the Regional Channel and found Crow.

Crow seemed omnipotent.

Just like today's situation—Wan Yi could only pin her hopes on luck, wishing to find something in a supply crate, but Crow had treated it so lightly, as if it weren't a big deal at all.

Just like that, all problems were solved.

"Is this what it means to be number one? Is this what Crow is?"

Wan Yi looked down at the empty rice jar in the pot, then glanced at the clean kitchen counter of the food truck, and suddenly felt an inexplicable emotion surging in her chest.

"If I were alone, without a refrigerator, without endless pork, and without seasonings... I would have to rely on processing food for others to exchange for meager materials to upgrade my vehicle, eating food that had no flavor at all..."

Wan Yi pursed her lips, her fingertips gently brushing against the phone screen as she stared blankly at the brief reply.

"Following her... it really feels like I don't have to be afraid of anything."

As this thought emerged, she suddenly felt her heart beating a little faster, as if she had finally found a harbor where she could safely dock.

"I've decided."

"I'll accept her as my boss. Being the second-in-command isn't bad either."

Thinking of this, Wan Yi couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips, and her fingers quickly tapped out a line on the keyboard:

【Wan Yi】: Boss, you're so kind!

After sending it, she felt it wasn't enough and quickly added:

【Wan Yi】: I will definitely cook well from now on!

Cheng Shuili looked at the screen and raised an eyebrow, thinking, "This person... why is she suddenly being so serious?"

But she had started calling her 'Boss' now, too.

Is this title contagious or something?

She shook her head, took the Trading Post teleportation card from the Abyss Ring, and chose to use it.

Consistent with the description on the card, Cheng Shuili hadn't driven very far before she saw the Trading Post.

Standing at the entrance was the familiar cat-head, wearing a black suit and a stiff expression, looking quite unapproachable.

Cheng Shuili had experience from last time; she was an old hand now.

She honestly placed all the weapons she was carrying into the shopping cart, ensured the door was locked, and then turned to walk toward the Trading Post.
