Chapter 131 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

After a brief chat with Leng Xiang, Leng Xiang went back to tidy up the house.

This trip to the Moon Palace was for a long stay, and she couldn't exactly move the entire courtyard with her.

So, naturally, she needed to properly organize the things she needed and take them along.

While Leng Xiang was tidying the house, Su Qing went to find Ao Ying.

This time, going to take up her post at the Moon Palace, she wouldn't be back for at least ten or twenty years.

Naturally, she had to tell Ao Ying.

Of course, in Su Qing's ideal scenario, she would naturally trick Ao Ying into coming to the Moon Palace with her.

It would save Ao Ying from staying on Flower-Fruit Mountain and becoming a lonely old dragon...

Although there were many other animals on Flower-Fruit Mountain, Ao Ying didn't like playing with anyone other than herself... especially those incredibly noisy monkeys.

However, the specific situation depended on Ao Ying's choice; Su Qing couldn't force her.

Besides, Su Qing wasn't sure if leaving the waters would affect Ao Ying's recovery...

Although Ao Ying had been resting for quite a while, her origin had been injured after all...

Even after so much time had passed, Ao Ying still hadn't been able to fully recover.

While lost in thought, Su Qing arrived at the edge of the pond where Ao Ying lived.

She called out toward the water twice. Hearing the movement, Ao Ying immediately emerged from the pond.

Seeing it was Su Qing who had come, she was a bit surprised.

At the same time, she was somewhat confused, as usually she was the one who went to find Su Qing. It was rare for Su Qing to come looking for her.

Ao Ying couldn't help but ask, "Big Sister Xiao Qing, why have you come?"

"Naturally, I have something to say to you."

Su Qing found a spot to sit down and said:

"Let's sit down and talk slowly."

Ao Ying was filled with doubt, but she nodded and sat down beside her.

Looking at Su Qing's expression, Ao Ying felt that there was likely something quite important to tell her.

"Sister, what exactly is it?" Ao Ying couldn't help but ask.

Su Qing didn't beat around the bush. She simply informed Ao Ying about Taishang Laojun's visit today and told her that she was going to take up a post at the Moon Palace.

"In other words, Sister is going to be an official at the Moon Palace? Isn't that great? How many people want to go to the Moon Palace but can't? I've heard that the immortals in the Moon Palace are all very kind!"

After hearing Su Qing's words, Ao Ying couldn't help but speak up.

"To be more precise, if we pack quickly today, we'll go up today."

Su Qing gave a helpless smile, spread her hands, and said:

"It's just that once I go to the Moon Palace, I probably won't be able to return to Flower-Fruit Mountain for decades. So I was wondering if you would like to come along to the Moon Palace as well."

"After all, if we all go and leave you here alone on Flower-Fruit Mountain, it wouldn't be right."

"Besides, if I don't see you for a long time, I'll miss you."

Su Qing didn't bother being indirect anymore and directly stated her wish for Ao Ying to accompany her to the Moon Palace.

Ao Ying thought for a moment after hearing this, then slightly shook her head and said, "The Moon Palace... I don't have a way to stay there long-term for the time being."

"Is it because of your recovery?" Su Qing wasn't too surprised to hear this answer and simply asked.

Ao Ying nodded slightly and said, "But Sister doesn't need to worry. Although I can't stay at the Moon Palace long-term with you, I can visit you often."

Su Qing was slightly stunned upon hearing this and asked, "You can enter the Moon Palace frequently?"

"Yes, I was a dragon princess once, after all, and I know Lady Chang'e... so naturally, there's no problem."

Ao Ying said with a beaming smile:

"Besides, I have a legitimate reason to go to the Moon Palace. With just that legitimate reason, the guard sisters won't make things difficult for me."

"A legitimate reason?" Su Qing was slightly taken aback.

Although she didn't know what that so-called legitimate reason was.

The fact that she could freely go to the Moon Palace was indeed beyond her expectations.

"Of course it's a legitimate reason! Since Sister is at the Moon Palace, using visiting a relative as a reason is naturally a legitimate one!"

Ao Ying explained with a beaming smile:

"After all, in name, I am also Sister's fiancée! My royal father personally betrothed me to Sister!"

Hearing this, Su Qing suddenly realized and couldn't help but laugh, saying:

"In that case, I'm relieved. It's just a bit of a pity; I was planning to trick you into coming to the Moon Palace with me."

"Pfft, it's okay. Once my injuries are healed, even if Sister doesn't trick me, I'll follow Sister everywhere. And even if it's to do some special things, there's no problem at all," Ao Ying said mysteriously.

"Special things? What are they?"

"I can't tell you yet! Since they're special, they must be kept secret."

"So mysterious!" Su Qing curled her lip helplessly but didn't press further.

After chatting briefly with Ao Ying, Su Qing bid her farewell and returned to her courtyard.

As soon as Su Qing reached the courtyard, she saw an old man and a monkey wearing a set of magnificent armor standing there, seemingly waiting for her.

There was no need to say who the monkey was, and as for the old man... without even thinking, she knew it was Taibai Jinxing.

"Greetings, Senior Taibai Jinxing."

Seeing Taibai Jinxing, Su Qing gave a polite salute.

No matter what, he was a senior, and the necessary politeness could not be omitted.

She wasn't that monkey, after all...

Seeing Su Qing salute, Wukong reluctantly followed suit and imitated her.

His thought process was quite simple: since his Big Sister had saluted, he had to give some face.

Su Qing was speechless and didn't bother with him, simply asking, "Senior Taibai Jinxing, why have you come here to find me?"

Taibai Jinxing glanced at Su Qing, his mouth twitching slightly as many things became clear to him.

He sighed softly and said, "It's not that this old man wanted to see you, but this Monkey King wanted to tell you that he is going to take up a post in the Heavenly Palace."

Hearing this, Su Qing understood.

She was wondering why this old man would run all the way here! So that was it.

After listening to the monkey ramble for a bit, Su Qing simply told him to be a good official... as for anything more, Su Qing didn't say and didn't feel like saying.

After all, some things were useless to say too much about.

Some things she couldn't change on her own...

Once everything was said, Taibai Jinxing spoke, "Then this old man will take the Monkey King to the Heavenly Court to take up his post. Immortal Su, please also be sure to go to the Moon Palace quickly."

Su Qing nodded and said, "Thank you for your trouble, Senior."

Well, it seemed almost all the heavenly gods knew about her appointment to the Moon Palace.

"It's just my responsibility." Taibai Jinxing smiled, then performed a Daoist hand seal toward Su Qing before taking the monkey up to heaven.

After Su Qing saw off Wukong and Taibai Jinxing, the courtyard became quiet once more.

It was truly a picture of peaceful years.

After a moment of tranquility, Gongsun Zhixue, who was hidden in the tree, emerged.

She asked once more, "By the way, when you go to the Moon Palace, you'll bring me along, right?"

"Hmm? What kind of question is that? Didn't we already say I'd bring you when I was chatting with Taishang Laojun earlier?" Su Qing said helplessly. "What? Are you that afraid of being left behind?"

"I'm just double-checking, aren't I?" Gongsun Zhixue curled her lip and said, "And... who's afraid of being left behind? I'm just afraid you'll be bored without me by your side."

Hearing this, Su Qing couldn't help but burst into laughter. This little thing was still so stubborn. Su Qing couldn't help but say:

"Don't worry, I'm really bringing you this time! Since we're going to live in the Moon Palace for a long time, how could I forget you? If I forgot you, wouldn't you be rolling around on the ground in a tantrum?"

"Who would do such a thing!" Gongsun Zhixue said, somewhat indignantly.

At this moment, Leng Xiang had just finished packing. Hearing Gongsun Zhixue's words, she couldn't help but reply:

"You would."

"..." Gongsun Zhixue looked depressed. "So you're ganging up to bully me alone!"

"But... you aren't a person; you're a tree demon," the honest Leng Xiang replied.

Gongsun Zhixue was choked by these words and looked utterly depressed... then she simply didn't bother to reply.

Su Qing watched from the side, amused. She hadn't realized before that Leng Xiang could be so sharp-tongued... she could actually shut down the stubborn little thing like that.

However, Su Qing couldn't help but feel she had set a bad example. Why was everyone bullying a little tree!

That wouldn't do!

"How is the packing going?" Su Qing asked.

"Master, it is almost finished. We can set off at any time," Leng Xiang replied with a slight nod.

Thinking about it, Su Qing said, "Right, Leng Xiang, where are those little ones? Where did they run off to?"

Leng Xiang nodded slightly and said, "They're probably fooling around with the little monkeys in the woods! I'll go call them back right now."

Leng Xiang gave a slight bow and then went straight out the door to find the little ones.

Because she often had to go out and catch these little ones, she was quite familiar with their daily movement patterns.

Whenever Su Qing needed them caught, she could basically find them in a very short time and bring them back.

After resolving the matter of the little ones.

Su Qing naturally had to resolve the matter of the sapling.

She still had to discuss with the sapling about pulling its roots out of the Ancestral Vein!

Su Qing placed her hand on the sapling and transmitted her thoughts.

This time, the sapling didn't seem as prideful and ignored Su Qing like last time, but directly responded to Su Qing's request...

First, it transmitted a feeling of grievance, and then it obediently retracted all its roots, looking like it was ready to be moved.

Seeing this, Su Qing couldn't help but smile. She felt that the reason this little sapling was so obedient was probably because Taishang Laojun had said something to it when he came.

"Taishang Laojun really did me a big favor this time."

Su Qing couldn't help but find it funny.

She didn't know what Taishang Laojun had said to this little tree to make it so obedient.

But regardless, being obedient was a good thing.

Su Qing withdrew her hand and said to Gongsun Zhixue, "Prepare to move. Retract your roots a bit! That way, I can move your main body as well."

"Hmph, how troublesome. I know!"

Gongsun Zhixue curled her lip upon hearing this.

But she very obediently retracted all her roots.

She didn't want to injure her roots while moving.

For a tree demon, the roots were the most important existence.

As for leaves or branches, breaking them was just a bit of pain, but breaking the roots concerned survival.

Soon, both Gongsun Zhixue and the Bodhi Tree had finished retracting their roots.

And after a while, Leng Xiang returned with the little ones.

As for why they were being caught this time, Leng Xiang had already informed them on the way.

Upon learning they were moving, they were all incredibly excited.

After returning to the courtyard, they immediately surrounded Su Qing.

"Are we going to the moon? Great, great! I used to see Sister Xiao Qing looking at the moon all the time. This time we can finally go up there!"

"Yes, yes! Although I'm a bit sad to part with the monkeys, going to the moon is just wonderful!"

The little ones chattered incessantly, making Su Qing feel they were quite noisy.

Su Qing was helpless and could only say, "Alright, alright, shut up for now! We're setting off."

Although these little ones were quite excited, they were still obedient and quickly shut their mouths, landing on Su Qing's shoulders.

It had been a while since she let them stand on her shoulders. Suddenly stepping up, they felt quite heavy.

For a moment, Su Qing was also slightly speechless.

These guys... they had cultivated, after all. Their size hadn't grown lately, but their weight certainly hadn't decreased.

Su Qing was helpless and didn't want to say more. She simply cast a spell to dig up the two trees, along with the nearby soil.

Then she put them both into her Sleeve Universe.

Although both trees were living things, staying inside for a short time wasn't much of a problem.

Having done all this, Su Qing thought for a moment if there was anything she had forgotten.

Finding nothing forgotten, she cast the Somersault Cloud and leapt toward the Moon Palace.

Su Qing knew the direction of the Moon Palace, and with the extreme speed of the Somersault Cloud, the Moon Palace soon came into view.

This Moon Palace was truly ethereal and magnificent; the stars across the sky were merely backdrops.

Su Qing closed the distance and landed before the palace gates.

Just as she landed, two female generals clad in silver armor stopped Su Qing.

"Who goes there? What business do you have at the Moon Palace?" The female generals' tone was quite kind.

After being stopped, Su Qing simply took out her official appointment papers and handed them to the two.

No matter what, the procedure had to be followed.

"So it is Immortal Su. We were truly rude just now," the female general said, immediately dropping her guard upon seeing the papers.

Hearing this, Su Qing shook her head slightly and said, "It's no matter; that was just your responsibility."

The female general smiled and said, "Thank you for your understanding, Immortal! Please follow me; Lady Chang'e has been waiting for you for a long time."
