Chapter 137 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

After Ao Ying left, Su Qing's life returned to normal.

Days passed one by one...

Before she knew it, another few years had passed for Su Qing.

One day, Su Qing was sitting idly in the courtyard.

Staring at the Bodhi Tree that had grown a few inches taller overnight, she said to herself:

"After living in this Moon Palace for so many years, this little thing has finally grown quite a bit. Taishang Laojun did not lie to me... moving to the Moon Palace was actually a good thing for this Bodhi Tree."

"When has this old man ever lied to you, little one?"

In a daze, Su Qing seemed to hear Taishang Laojun's voice coming from behind her.

She hurriedly turned her head and saw Taishang Laojun, dressed neatly and holding a horsetail wisk, standing at the door, looking at her with a smile.

Seeing this, Su Qing quickly stood up and said, "Senior Laojun, why have you come?"

"What? Am I not allowed to come?" Taishang Laojun laughed heartily, stroked his white beard, and asked in return.

"No, it's not that, it's just that Senior Laojun's visit was so sudden that I wasn't prepared at all." Su Qing shook her head slightly and gave a helpless smile.

Of course, these were just polite words; she was mainly startled by Taishang Laojun's sudden appearance.

Taishang Laojun shook his head with a smile and said, "It's fine, it's fine. Whether you are prepared or not doesn't matter..."

Su Qing invited Taishang Laojun to the table and then poured two cups of wine.

"I apologize for my behavior just now, Senior."

"It's nothing. My visit was simply sudden."

"I wonder what business brings Senior on this sudden visit?" Su Qing knew she couldn't just engage in idle chatter with Taishang Laojun.

So, she asked about the main topic directly.

After all, if Taishang Laojun had nothing to do, he probably wouldn't be bored enough to run over to her place.

Hearing this, Taishang Laojun first took a sip of wine and then slowly said:

"Do you know of a grand feast in the Heavenly Palace called the Peaches of Immortality Banquet?"

Su Qing nodded slightly...

Who doesn't know about the Peaches of Immortality Banquet?

Firstly, it was because the Peaches of Immortality Banquet was quite famous, with various legends recording it more or less.

Secondly, it was because the Peaches of Immortality Banquet was the starting point of the Havoc in Heaven... It was precisely because Wukong disrupted the Peaches of Immortality Banquet that so many things happened afterward.

Seeing this, Taishang Laojun said, "Since you know of the Peaches of Immortality Banquet, you should naturally know what the Peaches of Immortality are."

Hearing this, Su Qing nodded and said, "I naturally know that."

"One year from now will be the day of the Peaches of Immortality Banquet."

"If nothing unexpected happens, you should be able to go to the Peaches of Immortality Banquet along with Lady Chang'e and the Lunar Deity."

"However, I have calculated that there will be trouble at the Peaches of Immortality Banquet, and it most likely will not proceed smoothly."

As Taishang Laojun spoke, he couldn't help but shake his head with a smile.

Su Qing found this interesting...

Su Qing naturally knew that the Peaches of Immortality Banquet could not be held smoothly.

After all, the monkey had already taken up his post in the Peach Garden of the Heavenly Palace. It was only a matter of time before he caused trouble according to the established trajectory.

Su Qing was just a bit puzzled about what Taishang Laojun meant by suddenly mentioning this.

Was he telling her not to follow them to the Peaches of Immortality Banquet? Or was there some other meaning?

After a moment of thought, Su Qing simply asked directly:

"Then, what does Senior Laojun mean?"

The senior was right in front of her; if she had a question, she would just ask.

Guessing blindly by herself was just making things hard for herself without reaching any useful conclusion.

Hearing Su Qing's question, Taishang Laojun couldn't help but smile and said:

"Since the Peaches of Immortality Banquet most likely won't proceed smoothly, and you were originally supposed to attend... I have conveniently brought these things over for you."

As Taishang Laojun spoke, he reached into his sleeve and pulled out several peaches, placing them on the stone table in front of Su Qing.

The peaches looked fresh and beautiful, emitting a faint, exotic fragrance and were full of spiritual energy.

One look and it was clear these were no ordinary peaches.

And although Su Qing had never seen a Peach of Immortality, she could roughly guess based on what Taishang Laojun had just said.

The plate of peaches in front of her were the Peaches of Immortality from the Peaches of Immortality Banquet.

For a moment, Su Qing was somewhat dazed.

Taishang Laojun stroked his beard and said with a smile, "Looking at you, you must have recognized what these are?"

Su Qing came back to her senses... she nodded slightly and said, "I naturally recognize them... it's just that this junior is a bit puzzled."

"What is there to be puzzled about?"

"Logically speaking, even if I accompanied Sister Chang'e and the Lunar Deity to the Peaches of Immortality Banquet, I shouldn't be able to eat so many Peaches of Immortality. Why are there so many here?"

Hearing this, Taishang Laojun nodded slightly and said with a smile:

"Here, there is not only what you deserve, but also what your Master sent you, what the Old Mother of Mount Li and I sent you, and what the Lunar Deity sent you."

Hearing this, Su Qing was even more stunned...

Taishang Laojun casually cast a spell to mask their voices and then said:

"Since you know of the Peaches of Immortality, you should also know their effects..."

"Although the Peaches of Immortality have the power to extend life, they are more of a great help to one's cultivation. Extending life is just a secondary benefit."

"For your Master, the Old Mother, the Lunar Deity, and me, even if we eat more Peaches of Immortality now, our lifespan will not increase, and our cultivation will not improve in the slightest."

"Eating those Peaches of Immortality at the banquet is nothing more than satisfying a bit of appetite."

"So, we old folks discussed it and decided to give them to you. After all, rather than us old folks wasting them, it's better to give them to a youngster like you, where they can be of greater use."

Speaking of this, Taishang Laojun also stroked his beard, seemingly worried that Su Qing wouldn't accept this kindness, and continued:

"Besides, aren't you also worried about the lifespan of those Little Sparrows? Although their names are no longer in the Book of Life and Death, aging is still unavoidable."

"When the time comes, you can share one of the Peaches of Immortality with those little ones, and the worry about their lifespan will be resolved, won't it?"

After a long time, Su Qing nodded slightly.

Then she stood up and bowed to Taishang Laojun with her hands clasped, saying, "Thank you, Senior Laojun... Senior's great kindness is something this junior will never forget."

Taishang Laojun's words had indeed moved Su Qing...

Firstly, the Peaches of Immortality would indeed be of great benefit to her, and secondly, as Taishang Laojun said, these peaches could completely solve the lifespan issue of those close to her.

Hearing this, Taishang Laojun shook his head slightly and said:

"It's no great kindness. You can just treat it as us old folks being tired of eating them and not wanting them anymore, so we just threw them to you."

Hearing this, the corner of Su Qing's mouth twitched slightly. Being tired of eating them and not wanting them anymore, really...

If those words were said to anyone else, no one would believe them, right?

However, even if the senior said he didn't care, Su Qing would still remember this kindness.

After all, this thing was indeed very important to her.

"Alright, alright, sit down!" Seeing Su Qing's serious expression, Taishang Laojun just said amusingly, "They're just a few Peaches of Immortality, they really aren't anything special."
