Chapter 139 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

With the sparrows no longer in mortal danger, Su Qing's mind was also at ease.

That day, Su Qing slept very well…

And very soundly.

The next day.

Su Qing arrived at the Lunar Palace once again.

As soon as she entered the palace, she happened to see Chang'e slumped over her desk, looking utterly dejected, as if her energy had been completely drained.

Seeing this scene, Su Qing couldn't help but feel helpless.

She knew that when Sister Chang'e looked like this, she had either been lectured by the Lunar Deity or was overwhelmed by official business.

But considering the current time…

Su Qing felt that Chang'e was likely dejected because of official business.

With Chang'e's temperament, it was naturally impossible for her to settle down and manage official affairs.

So most of the time, she threw the Moon Palace's official business to her subordinates or handed it over to the rabbit to handle.

But even if she threw most of the work to the rabbit, there were still many things she needed to handle herself.

Part was matters of the Heavenly Court, and the other part was things the rabbit couldn't handle alone or couldn't make decisions on.

And these official duties were precisely the source of her recent troubles.

As for why she usually looked so idle… as if she were playing all day and didn't need to do anything at all…

Well…

Who told her that one day in heaven is a year in the Moon Palace!

Turning in assignments once a year, if Chang'e were to panic, it would mostly be because her summer vacation was coming to an end.

And now… it was this vacation that was about to end.

After figuring out the situation, Su Qing didn't intend to disturb her and prepared to turn and leave, planning to find Chang'e after she finished her work…

Only… Chang'e didn't think so.

She saw Su Qing coming and immediately propped herself up from the table, saying:

"I was just hoping for someone to come, and here you are! I was just thinking about whether to take a break and go find you, and you arrived right on time! It seems my luck is quite good."

Seeing this, Su Qing's lips couldn't help but twitch slightly.

She felt that her own speed of gathering her emotions and switching her mood was fast enough.

But looking at it now, compared to Chang'e, she was still far behind.

Chang'e, who had an 'utterly dejected' expression just a moment ago, had now regained her vigor.

"So, Sister Chang'e, exactly how much official business have you accumulated?" Su Qing asked with a look of confusion.

"Not much, not much! That bit of business can be finished in just a few days; it's just a bit annoying. There's still plenty of time, and I can finish it slowly later. So don't worry about it!"

Chang'e waved her hand, looking completely unconcerned.

Hearing this, Su Qing naturally didn't believe her at all…

After all, she had stayed in the Moon Palace for so many years, and this wasn't the first time she had heard Chang'e say such things.

However, Su Qing didn't intend to meddle in these matters… Chang'e was a senior and an elder, and there was no benefit in her meddling.

Besides, the one who would be rushing to finish the assignments wasn't her.

She simply walked over to Chang'e's side with a helpless expression and sat down, then watched as she quickly cleared the official files from the table and set out fruits and snacks.

Then, Chang'e rested her chin on her hand and stared at Su Qing with a look of curiosity, saying:

"Since you're here, I'll accompany you to rest for a while. It just so happens that I'm also exhausted!"

"But I'm a bit curious, why did you suddenly think of coming to find me today? Is there something you need my help with?"

Hearing this, Su Qing shook her head slightly: "I didn't come to find you, Sister Chang'e, because I need your help with anything. I just have something good to share with you."

Chang'e looked at Su Qing thoughtfully, then couldn't help but ask curiously:

"Oh? What good thing do you have? Hurry up and take it out for me to see?"

Although she didn't think Su Qing could have anything particularly interesting, it was her sister's kind intention after all, so she naturally couldn't refuse to look…

Hearing this, Su Qing didn't hesitate and reached into her universe sleeve to take out a jar of wine. This wine was naturally the wine meant for yesterday's Peaches of Immortality Banquet.

When she first got the wine yesterday, she already had the intention of sharing it with Chang'e.

Coming to find her today was specifically to share this wine with her.

When Chang'e saw the wine jar, she was first slightly confused, but after untying the sealing paper and sniffing it, she couldn't help but say in surprise:

"Isn't this the wine for the Peaches of Immortality Banquet? The Peaches of Immortality Banquet is still a long way off! How did you get this wine?"

Speaking of the Peaches of Immortality Banquet, Chang'e couldn't help but resentfully complain about the Lunar Deity.

Complaining that she didn't trust her and wouldn't let her drink at the Peaches of Immortality Banquet… and even kept her by her side, not allowing her to run around.

It had caused her to miss out on the fine wine at several Peaches of Immortality Banquets, which was simply infuriating.

Su Qing couldn't help but find it funny upon hearing this; her initial guess had indeed been correct.

"Who told you to always lose control of yourself every time you get drunk, Sister Chang'e?" Su Qing said tactfully.

Chang'e curled her lip and poured herself some wine, saying:

"Stinky girl, if you want to say I'm a mean drunk, just say it directly. Why be so tactful! Do you think I don't know what you're thinking?"

"Besides, my alcohol tolerance is very good. How could I possibly get drunk on such a small amount of wine?"

"I was just happy and wanted to play with you!"

Su Qing was too lazy to argue back against Chang'e's stubborn statement…

After all, everyone who gets drunk is unwilling to admit they get drunk easily.

As if noticing the hidden meaning in Su Qing's expression, Chang'e said dissatisfiedly:

"Forget it, forget it. Since you don't believe me, then don't! In a bit, I'll purposely get drunk and act like a mean drunk, pinning you down and bullying you!"

Hearing this, Su Qing smiled and said, "Fine, fine, fine, Sister Chang'e, you can't get drunk. Don't explain anymore, just drink your wine!"

Chang'e gave Su Qing a look; could this answer be any more perfunctory?

"For the sake of the wine you brought me, I'm too lazy to argue with you."

Su Qing nodded and drank a cup of wine herself… not intending to continue this topic with Chang'e.

Although the peaches at the Peaches of Immortality Banquet tasted average, the wine at the banquet was indeed excellent, far better than the osmanthus wine brewed in the Moon Palace.

The two of them chatted and drank like this for a short while, but after only three or four cups.

Chang'e began to get a bit drunk again. Her hair was messy at her temples, her cheeks were flushed, and she began to talk nonsense once more.

"Sister Chang'e really can't drink, yet she loves to drink so much…" Su Qing couldn't help but smile seeing Chang'e like this.

"You girl, what are you laughing at?"

Chang'e reached out and pinched Su Qing's face, then rolled over and said:

"By the way, do you really not have anything else to ask me? If you have something, say it quickly. When I'm truly drunk, you won't have the chance to say it."

"I really just came to find you for a drink, Sister Chang'e…" Su Qing said calmly.

Chang'e looked at her for a long time: "Is that so~ then I can drink with peace of mind!"

Su Qing smiled helplessly upon hearing this. So you asked me that just so you could drink with peace of mind!

However, she didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Letting Chang'e have a good drink once was fine…

Of course, the premise was that this lady shouldn't start shouting after getting drunk and then annoy the Lunar Deity… otherwise, she would be taken back again.

"As long as you are happy!"

"Happy, naturally I'm happy! But you girl are truly simple enough." Chang'e grabbed Su Qing and said with a chuckle.

But just as she was about to laugh loudly, she quickly stopped herself.

She was afraid of disturbing the Lunar Deity, which would prevent her from continuing to have fun.

She took a sip, then said seriously: "But if you were to make a request of me while I'm drunk… I probably wouldn't refuse you."

"I am a gentleman! How could I make random requests while you are drunk, Sister?"

"You're a gentleman my foot. You're just a little girl, and you're calling yourself a gentleman? At most, you're a little woman."

Chang'e curled her lip and said dissatisfiedly:

"Others would want this opportunity but can't get it! You girl actually don't cherish it. Ridiculous, ridiculous! But, I quite like you like this."

"Many people like me." Su Qing smiled and said, "I'm afraid you won't have a chance, Sister."

"Stinky girl, give you an inch and you'll take a mile, won't you?" Chang'e rolled her eyes and said disdainfully, "Careful not to arouse my competitive spirit. You narcissistic little girl."

Hearing this, Su Qing tilted her head and smiled: "Fine, fine, Sister, hurry up and drink your wine!"

After Chang'e rubbed her head vigorously, she began to drink happily again.

Before long, more than half of that jar of wine was gone.

Chang'e, who had extremely poor alcohol tolerance, was now unable to get up again… leaning against Su Qing's side, she fell into a deep sleep.

And looking at Su Qing… she was only slightly tipsy at this time.

The wine of the Peaches of Immortality Banquet was naturally good wine… but as for being intoxicating, it actually wasn't that intoxicating.

Besides, the two of them hadn't drunk much…

Chang'e becoming like this was purely because she couldn't drink.

"As expected, don't overindulge in good wine, act according to your capacity… Sister Chang'e truly doesn't understand this principle at all."

Su Qing looked helplessly at Chang'e, who was completely asleep in her arms, and couldn't help but say:

"However, the sleeping Sister Chang'e is quite cute… Sigh, she really is a mute bride; how beautiful she is when silent, and how ridiculous when she speaks."

Shaking her head, Su Qing placed Chang'e to the side and covered her with a thin blanket.

Afterward, Su Qing did not stay there any longer, but left the Lunar Palace and went straight to where the Lunar Deity resided.

Just as she reached the door, the originally tightly closed door suddenly opened.

From inside came the steady and kind voice of the Lunar Deity, saying: "Come in! I knew you would come."

Hearing this, Su Qing was not surprised.

She simply bowed slightly in salute, then walked straight in.

"That girl Chang'e has troubled you. She is quite annoying sometimes." The Lunar Deity looked at Su Qing and said with a slight nod.

Although the Lunar Deity had the face of a mature woman in her thirties, she acted like an eighty or ninety-year-old lady.

While being very steady, she also gave people a very kind feeling…

Of course, if one were to truly talk about age, the Lunar Deity obviously couldn't be only ninety years old.

"It's nothing… my interactions with Sister Chang'e have been quite pleasant." Su Qing shook her head and said.

"I know how annoying that girl can be. Besides, if she ever gets handsy with you in the future, just tell me, and I will educate her." The Lunar Deity chuckled and said.

Hearing this, Su Qing touched her nose and nodded slightly.

However, in her heart, she had no intention of complaining to the Lunar Deity in the future.

"Enough, let this matter end here. Tell me, what is it you came to see me for?" The Lunar Deity shook her head and, regardless of what Su Qing was thinking, went straight to the point.

Seeing the Lunar Deity being so direct, Su Qing didn't beat around the bush either and asked the Lunar Deity about the osmanthus tree.

The Lunar Deity thought for a moment after hearing this and said, "You want to ask why that osmanthus tree made an agreement with you and said those words to you, right?"

Hearing this, Su Qing also nodded slightly.

As for the Lunar Deity knowing about this, Su Qing was not surprised… Honestly, was there anything in this Moon Palace that the Lunar Deity didn't know?

Even Chang'e stealing wine to drink was merely permitted by the Lunar Deity.

As long as she didn't cause any trouble, the Lunar Deity would turn a blind eye.

Seeing Su Qing nod, the Lunar Deity leaned back slightly and closed her eyes as if thinking for a moment.

Then she said: "She just wants to continue on… she likely doesn't approve of the Heavenly Court's plans, or rather, she doesn't feel that what the Heavenly Court is doing can preserve her life, so she wants to find another way."

"So that's how it is…" Su Qing nodded thoughtfully and asked, "But is finding me useful?"

"Only you are not a person of the Heavenly Court and possess that kind of providence. Besides you, who else could she find? In short, don't overthink it…" The Lunar Deity shook her head and said, "The osmanthus tree has no ill intentions; you don't need to worry."

"As for other things… regarding the osmanthus tree's origins and existence, what Taishang Laojun told you is already everything. Although I know some messy details, they would likely be meaningless to you, so I won't tell you."

Hearing this, Su Qing didn't continue to ask. The Lunar Deity's meaning was already very clear.

And she hadn't held too much hope when she came here this time.

Now that a few of her doubts had been cleared, she was already satisfied.

"Thank you for clearing my doubts, Senior."

"I didn't clear any doubts for you; there's no need to thank me. As long as you practice well, that is enough…"

Su Qing nodded slightly, always feeling that she seemed to have said these words to someone else before…

"Alright, if there is nothing else, you may go! It seems someone is looking for you." As the Lunar Deity spoke, she opened her eyes and said.

Hearing this, Su Qing couldn't help but be a bit confused…

Who was looking for her?

Was it Taishang Laojun? Or Li Shan Lao Mu?

Or perhaps her Master?

As Su Qing thought about it, she bowed and left the Lunar Deity's hall.

After she went out, she didn't wait for whoever it was to find her, but went straight home.

After all, whoever was looking for her would likely go straight to her home to find her.

Only Su Qing hadn't reached her courtyard yet, but was halfway there, when she heard a Buddhist sound.

"Amitabha, little friend, please stay your steps."

Su Qing paused when she heard the voice and turned to look, only to see it was Moonlight Bodhisattva.

"Greetings, Senior."

She had naturally seen Moonlight Bodhisattva before; after all, having lived in the Moon Palace for so long, how could she not have seen this Bodhisattva?
