Chapter 42 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

The next day.

Everything proceeded as usual.

Su Qing recalled the incantations and true words her master had imparted, and began cultivating the Somersault Cloud...

The Somersault Cloud was considered a powerful divine ability and spell.

Its cultivation was no simpler than the Seventy-Two Transformations, perhaps even more difficult.

Even Su Qing couldn't master it in a short time.

Fortunately, Su Qing was never in a hurry.

She calmly cultivated at a steady pace.

Su Qing diligently cultivated.

Leng Xiang, meanwhile, continued to handle all the household chores.

As well as planting the vegetable patch outside the door.

Occasionally, she would even add a few handmade pieces of furniture to the house.

Unbeknownst to them, the once somewhat desolate courtyard had now become vastly different from before.

As for the little chubby sparrows.

They were still idle.

Most of their days were spent either staring blankly from the ginkgo tree branches.

Or going out for a stroll to see if anyone had come by.

In the days that followed.

Su Qing's life was exceptionally calm.

It was nothing more than cultivation, eating and drinking, and playing with the sparrows and Leng Xiang.

However, after leaving the Cave of the Slanted Moon and Three Stars, she still felt something was missing.

Su Qing had no solution for this...

She could only spend time gradually getting used to it.

Using cultivation to disperse the sense of loss she felt after the departure.

In a blink of an eye.

The ginkgo tree in the courtyard had already turned yellow.

With a gust of wind, the leaves would slowly fall, covering the ground, and soon there would be a thin layer of leaf cushion.

Now... autumn had arrived.

It had been a long time since Su Qing bid farewell to her master.

After all this time...

Accompanied by the sparrows and Leng Xiang.

She had grown accustomed to cultivating life away from the Cave of the Slanted Moon and Three Stars.

The Somersault Cloud had also achieved minor success.

Now, she only needed to recite the incantation and, with a thought, could summon the Somersault Cloud, carrying her rapidly for thousands of miles.

Of course, this Somersault Cloud naturally didn't require somersaults.

The Somersault Cloud's execution was through the application of incantations and true words, not the act of somersaulting.

As for the monkey's fondness for somersaulting, that was the monkey's own business.

Su Qing wasn't a monkey...

Flipping somersaults for no reason, that image wouldn't be too pretty.

Even if she transformed into her true form to flip, it would still be strange.

Today, the autumn wind rustled.

Making it feel a bit chilly.

Su Qing had cultivated for half a day, and now sat in the courtyard, gazing at the rustling ginkgo tree.

Many thoughts filled her mind...

"The Somersault Cloud is indeed powerful... just minor success allows one to traverse thousands of miles. I only knew the monkey's Somersault Cloud was fast, but never imagined it was so formidable."

"If he had just used the Somersault Cloud to take Tang Sanzang to retrieve the scriptures, there wouldn't have been the eighty-one tribulations."

But without those eighty-one tribulations, would the people of Spirit Mountain have given them the true scriptures?

Probably not, right?

Although she couldn't remember many things anymore.

She still remembered that one person on the journey to the west, just one tribulation short, couldn't obtain the true scriptures.

Thinking of this, Su Qing felt a bit helpless...

What exactly was the journey to the west for?

"Forget it, the journey to the west has little to do with me. After all, I'm not that Monkey King!"

"I'm just an unknown little green snake."

"It's better to cultivate diligently, seek immortality..."

"And then become a witness to history!"

Su Qing shook her head slightly, preparing to cultivate the Somersault Cloud again after lunch.

Now that the Somersault Cloud had achieved minor success.

Achieving great success still required time accumulation, just like the Seventy-Two Transformations.

It required the accumulation of time.

Fortunately, what Su Qing lacked least now was probably time.

While she was pondering, Leng Xiang walked out of the kitchen.

"What is my young master troubled about now?"

Su Qing smiled slightly, half-jokingly, and said: "I'm thinking about how to tease you."

Leng Xiang blinked.

"If my young master likes it, Leng Xiang is fine with anything."

That sounded a bit strange.

But Su Qing was too lazy to delve into it, only asking what they were eating today.

Leng Xiang honestly replied...

Daily life continued as usual.

Su Qing's cultivation never stopped either...

As for the little sparrows, they had long since become lax in their cultivation.

They only knew how to play every day.

Even with Su Qing's urging, it was to no avail.

The sparrows weren't highly talented; their current cultivation was entirely due to the help of a few brothers in the kitchen.

Now that they had left the cultivation atmosphere of the Cave of the Slanted Moon and Three Stars, and given their inherent laziness, they were naturally even less willing to cultivate.

And Su Qing wasn't the strict type... she couldn't harshly force them to cultivate.

After her repeated urgings had no effect on their unwillingness to cultivate.

She stopped mentioning it to them.

Allowing them to play freely...

These fellows originally had the minds of children; forcing them would be counterproductive.

It was better to let them be happy.

Anyway, with herself and Leng Xiang around, no one would be able to harm these little ones.

Just like that, days passed extremely quickly.

Unconsciously.

Several more years passed.

Su Qing, in her cultivation, never liked to keep track of years, only feeling that a long time had passed...

But couldn't remember how many years.

She only knew that the ginkgo tree in the courtyard had grown another section... and its leaves were even more lush.

It seemed that the several lightning tribulations that had struck off its branches had no effect on it.

It continued to grow slowly...

Perhaps.

In not too many years, this ginkgo tree in the courtyard might also become a spirit monster?

Unfortunately, Su Qing didn't know if she would live to see that day.

Perhaps before that day arrived, she would have already left this place.

Over these past few years, the wasteland outside the courtyard had now been transformed into a large vegetable patch by the planting fanatic, cultivation master, Leng Xiang.

Leng Xiang had said she could plant well back then...

In this, Leng Xiang truly hadn't lied at all.

Her talent in planting vegetables... could be said to be on par with her talent in cultivating good-for-nothings.

Anyway, after she started planting vegetables.

Su Qing had never worried about not having enough vegetables to eat...

Of course, she hadn't before either.

Over these years, although Su Qing's life was calm, she never stopped cultivating.

Now, after so many years, Su Qing's Somersault Cloud had largely achieved some success, barely qualifying as great success.

She planned to visit Flower-Fruit Mountain in a few more days.

She wanted to see both the Heaven and Earth Spirit Stone and how wonderful the legendary Flower-Fruit Mountain truly was.

"Leng Xiang, in a few days... let's go out for a stroll!"

Su Qing called Leng Xiang and said:

"We've been here for so long... I'm starting to feel restless from the quiet."

"Where does my young master wish to go? To a nearby town?"

"Somewhere farther... if it were just to town, I wouldn't have mentioned it to you."

"Wherever my young master goes, Leng Xiang will follow, all according to my young master's wishes." Leng Xiang nodded slightly and said: "But young master, will we come back later?"

Su Qing nodded slightly: "Of course we'll come back. This is our home where we've lived for so long. Besides, you've planted vegetables for so long, we can't let them go to waste, can we?"
