Chapter 49 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

In the following days.

Su Qing and Leng Xiang led a group of monkeys to build houses.

Because the intention was to teach them how to fish, not just give them fish.

Therefore, Su Qing and Leng Xiang couldn't truly rest for a while.

The monkeys were mischievous; some things they forgot as soon as they were taught, others they simply refused to learn... progress wasn't fast.

Fortunately, the macaque was quite honest, and the old monkey was intelligent.

In just a few days, they had learned most of it.

They could take over Su Qing and Leng Xiang's supervisory duties.

With the two of them, Su Qing could withdraw... and return to Water Curtain Cave to relax.

During these days of building houses.

Occasionally, a few demons would fly overhead.

They were likely scouting for information... Su Qing, naturally, wasn't polite to them.

She had Leng Xiang take down every one she saw.

This also served to show her stance.

Making those demon kings understand not to disturb her peaceful cultivation for no reason.

The effect was quite good; after that, the demon kings no longer sent scouts and behaved much better.

A few more days passed.

The houses were all built.

Su Qing casually instructed the macaque to manage the monkey group, then returned to Water Curtain Cave to relax.

She didn't appear much more before the monkey group.

She wanted to subtly transfer the identity of the Monkey King to the macaque.

Although she had agreed to protect the monkey group, she had no interest in being the Monkey King.

Anyone could be the Monkey King, the macaque could, the Stone Monkey was fine too, as long as this troublesome matter wasn't left to her.

As for how the Stone Monkey would become the Monkey King after its birth...

That was another matter entirely.

"Speaking of which... I suppose I'm a variable that has disrupted fate, aren't I? Because of me, many things are no longer as they were."

Su Qing thought:

"It's just that with what I've done, I'm afraid the Stone Monkey's 'game difficulty' has increased significantly. But... if everything truly is predetermined, then many things probably aren't something I can change just by wanting to, right?"

Regarding predestination...

Su Qing still hoped that everything in this world wasn't unchangeable, predetermined fate.

If that were truly the case...

This world would be a bit too... tragic.

"Forget it, forget it... why bother thinking so much. Anyway, I don't plan to stay long on Flower-Fruit Mountain... I'll leave once everything is over."

Su Qing shook her head slightly; even if she thought more, some things she couldn't change.

She simply stopped thinking about it...

And peacefully enjoyed a quiet life.

"However... I still need to meet the Stone Monkey eventually. I'll need its help in the future..."

The sparrows' lifespan issue is no small trouble.

Perhaps one day in the future, she could reach the realm of a Divine Immortal... and easily obtain the Peaches of Immortality and Ginseng Fruits.

But by the time she reaches the Divine Immortal realm, those lazy little things might not even have their ashes left.

They don't like to cultivate, and their talent isn't enough; even if their lifespans were fully exhausted... they probably wouldn't reach the Divine Immortal realm.

And the Human Immortal realm, at its peak, only grants five hundred years of life.

Sparrow demons, who inherently have short lifespans, might not even last three hundred years.

Therefore... in this regard, she needs the Monkey King's help.

Some things truly require his involvement.

It's just... that this will inevitably entangle her with Sun Wukong in more karma.

But for the sake of the sparrows, it's worth it.

They have accompanied her for so many years... and will accompany her for even longer in the future; she doesn't want to watch them disappear.

She really couldn't bear to see old friends depart one by one.

Even though she always convinced herself not to think about it, it wasn't that easy.

Anyway, she was already entangled in karma...

So, getting entangled in a bit more wouldn't be a big deal.

As long as she doesn't end up getting trapped in the pilgrimage team in the end...

She certainly didn't want to become another Sun Wukong.

However... with her abilities, at most she'd be trapped as one of the trials on the pilgrimage, right?

Su Qing thought more and more, couldn't help but feel a headache, sighed slightly, and reached out to rub her temples.

"What is my little master worrying about now?"

Leng Xiang saw Su Qing sigh and couldn't help but ask worriedly:

"Tell Leng Xiang... Leng Xiang will help my little master share her worries!"

"It's nothing... it's nothing, just let me hug you, and I'll be fine."

Su Qing didn't want Leng Xiang to worry about this matter too, so she concealed it.

Saying this, without waiting for Leng Xiang's reply, she buried her face in Leng Xiang's chest.

Soft and gentle, with the sweet scent of plum blossoms.

It also made her relax a little.

Leng Xiang was slightly stunned upon hearing this... how did her question lead to her getting 'roped in'?

But she didn't refuse, allowing Su Qing to hold her.

If this could make her little master feel more at ease, then what if she held her forever?

Even... if she gave her all, what then?

Her entire being belonged to her little master; whatever her little master wanted to do, she would do... she wouldn't resist, wouldn't refute.

Just seeing Su Qing looking troubled about something...

Leng Xiang felt especially pained...

She didn't even know what her little master was troubled about.

She truly felt a bit incompetent.

Leng Xiang didn't know what Su Qing was troubled by, so naturally, she didn't know how to comfort her.

She simply stroked Su Qing's back like comforting a child, with one hand gently embracing her head.

"If my little master feels tired or troubled, then just take a nap! Perhaps when you wake up, you won't be troubled anymore! Leng Xiang will stay here with my little master... and won't go anywhere."
