Chapter 53 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

The Stone Monkey heard that Su Qing was not in a hurry to leave.

He immediately became happy and said:

"It's good you're not leaving, it's good you're not leaving. Hehe, everyone doesn't want Big Sister to go!"

The Old Monkey also breathed a sigh of relief at this, its monkey face full of smiles.

If Su Qing left, these carefree days would likely come to an end.

Since Su Qing arrived, the monkey troop no longer worried about jackals, wolves, tigers, and leopards.

Nor did they need to worry about demon attacks...

The Old Monkey knew Su Qing's importance better than anyone.

Other monkeys simply didn't want their Great King to leave... while it understood the implications of Su Qing's departure even more clearly.

Seeing the monkey troop so happy, Su Qing smiled helplessly.

Su Qing asked the monkey troop to quiet down first, saying:

"Whether I leave today or not, the position of Monkey King must be filled by someone."

"However, this position cannot be held by just anyone. It requires someone with great perseverance, great courage, and great strength."

As she spoke, Su Qing pointed towards the waterfall behind them, under the puzzled gazes of the many monkeys.

The monkeys followed Su Qing's finger, looking at the noisy waterfall.

The waterfall's flow was fierce and quite spectacular.

"Behind that waterfall is the Water Curtain Cave. Whoever dares to leap in like me, and emerges unharmed, will be the new king."

Su Qing's words stunned many monkeys, and then the troop became noisy.

The monkey troop naturally knew there was a Water Curtain Cave behind the waterfall, and also knew it was where Su Qing lived...

But no monkey had ever dared to jump in like Su Qing.

Although the monkeys in the troop weren't exceptionally smart, they did know one thing.

What Su Qing could do, they might not be able to do.

Su Qing could emerge from it unharmed because Su Qing was powerful, a Heavenly Immortal.

What about them?

Just a group of monkeys who had gained sentience...

How could they easily jump in after her?

Not to mention it was Su Qing's residence, just the water flow itself didn't look easy to deal with.

One jump, and they'd probably have to search for monkeys in the sea.

Therefore, when Su Qing stated this requirement.

Most of the monkeys dared not act rashly.

Even the monkeys who had been eager to try calmed down.

The Old Monkey, however, was quite calm, saying: "My little monkeys, is there anyone brave enough to try?"

The Old Monkey was not interested in the position of Monkey King.

Furthermore, it was already old; even if the waterfall's current wasn't particularly strong and wouldn't take a life, it would still be extremely dangerous for it.

So, it merely helped Su Qing encourage the other monkeys.

The Macaque came forward, looking at the waterfall with some hesitation.

Wanting to jump, yet not daring to...

It didn't want Big Sister to be disappointed, but it was a bit timid.

Seeing this, Su Qing's gaze fell upon the Stone Monkey.

She had long guessed that the monkey troop wouldn't dare.

Had she not anticipated it, she wouldn't have used this method.

Moreover, even if a monkey truly dared to jump.

She would have a way...

She was a cultivator after all; dealing with a group of monkeys, wasn't that simple?

Although doing so was a bit shameless... if she didn't, she would have to use a more troublesome method.

Why make things difficult for herself?

As for face, she'd worry about it when she needed it.

The Stone Monkey saw Su Qing's gaze fall upon him, and with a flicker in his eyes, he probably understood Su Qing's intention.

Big Sister wanted him to try!

The Stone Monkey wasn't afraid of the waterfall.

He knew that even if he couldn't get in, he certainly wouldn't be harmed.

After all, Big Sister was so kind, how could she let the monkey troop go to their deaths?

"Big Sister, Big Sister, I'm willing to try!"

The Stone Monkey chuckled and said.

Su Qing heard this and nodded slightly.

"Go on, give it a try."

"Alright, alright!" The Stone Monkey walked to the edge of the cliff.

Looking at the turbulent waterfall, he took a breath, closed his eyes, squatted down, and with a leap.

He jumped directly into the waterfall...

The Stone Monkey only felt the turbulent current striking his body, and a moment later, he landed steadily.

He opened his eyes and saw that indeed there was no water or waves inside.

And beneath his feet was an iron plate bridge.

Turning around, he saw the water curtain behind him, which concealed the bridge entrance, hiding this place.

"How amazing, truly worthy of Big Sister's residence."

The Stone Monkey couldn't help but be surprised, finding the place extremely interesting.

"But I didn't expect to enter so easily. It seems Big Sister wants to find a courageous monkey? If so, won't I become the new Monkey King?"

Thinking of this, the Stone Monkey couldn't help but chuckle.

Although he didn't have a great desire to be king, if it truly happened like this, he couldn't help but find it amusing.

The thought of the monkeys calling him Great King made the Stone Monkey find it even more interesting.

Thinking of this, he didn't go further inside.

Further in was Big Sister's residence; without Big Sister's permission, how could he casually enter?

The Stone Monkey turned, again closed his eyes, squatted down, and jumped out of the Water Curtain Cave, landing before Su Qing.

"Big Sister, Big Sister! I'm back!"

The Stone Monkey said cheerfully:

"Can I be the new Monkey King?"

Su Qing looked at the Stone Monkey, a slight curve on her lips, and said:

"Very good, very good. Since you successfully entered and emerged unharmed, the position of Monkey King shall be yours!"

After speaking, Su Qing turned to look at the monkey troop and asked:

"Do any of you have objections?"

Most of the monkey troop had no objections, merely admiring the Stone Monkey's courage and strength...

The Macaque, however, was slightly disheartened; it had originally wanted to try... but in the end, it had been timid.

Seeing the Macaque like this, the Old Monkey just shook its head, deciding to comfort the lass after everything was over.

As for the Stone Monkey becoming the new king, it naturally had no objections.

Su Qing had already made her decision, so it naturally deferred to Su Qing.

Seeing that all the monkeys had no objections, Su Qing announced the Stone Monkey as the Monkey King of the troop.

Upon hearing Su Qing's words, the monkey troop immediately bowed to the Stone Monkey, hailing him as "Great King, Live a Thousand Years!"

Seeing this, the Stone Monkey couldn't help but straighten his back, feigning importance and saying, "Rise."

However, the playful expression on his face showed no hint of majesty.

"Since you've become the Monkey King, then think of a title for yourself," Su Qing thought for a moment and said.

The Stone Monkey heard this, pondered for a while, and said: "Let's hide the character 'Stone' and call myself the Handsome Monkey King!"

"Why?"

Su Qing heard this familiar title and smiled slightly. Was this perhaps the inertia of history?

"It sounds good," the Stone Monkey said blankly.

The Stone Monkey's words amused Su Qing.

Indeed.

Given the Stone Monkey's nature, there wouldn't be any special reason.

The two words 'sounds good' were enough.

Just like when she first wanted to learn swordsmanship, it was merely for aesthetic appeal.

Although... she still hadn't learned to use a sword, and had been raised into a useless snake by her own spirit sword.

"Good monkey! Now that you've become the Monkey King, be a good one," Su Qing patted the Stone Monkey's head and said: "If I leave someday, these monkeys will still depend on you for protection!"

Hearing this, the Stone Monkey became slightly serious and said: "Big Sister, don't worry! Since I've become the Handsome Monkey King, I will certainly not disappoint Big Sister!"
