"Old Turtle, there's no need for this."
"You were kind to me, why act like this?"
Su Qing looked at the old turtle, her tone still calm.
Although it seemed now that the old turtle's strength was far inferior to hers, he had shown her kindness, so she couldn't be disrespectful.
"Immortal Lady?"
The old turtle naturally no longer recognized Su Qing, after all, the current Su Qing was not the green snake from back then.
However, although he didn't recognize her, hearing her tone and voice couldn't help but stir some memories; he seemed to have heard it somewhere in a trance.
He just couldn't recall who the person in front of him was for a moment.
"I suppose Old Turtle no longer recognizes me." Su Qing smiled slightly.
Her transformation was so great, it wasn't strange that the other party didn't recognize her.
Su Qing simply said, "Old Turtle, do you still remember the green snake who asked you how to get to the Old Mother's Hall?"
The old turtle thought for a moment, nodded slightly, and said, "Of course I remember... Could it be that snake demon has taken you as her master, Immortal Lady?"
Speaking of that green snake, the old turtle naturally remembered her deeply.
After all, a demon like her, unwilling to be a local worshipped deity and instead seeking the so-called true fruit of cultivation, might not be encountered even once in several centuries.
How could he not remember her deeply?
It was just that the old turtle didn't immediately connect the woman in front of him with that green snake.
He only thought she was the green snake's master...
After all, even if she had taken the Old Mother as her master, it would be impossible to cultivate to such a realm so quickly, unless she was some peerless genius.
Hearing this, Su Qing shook her head slightly and smiled, "I am not her master; I am that green snake."
The old turtle was stunned for a moment upon hearing this.
He looked at Su Qing, then recalled the appearance of the green snake from back then, feeling it was somewhat unbelievable.
After a long while, he let out a long breath, having no choice but to accept the reality before him.
This was the green snake's appearance after cultivating into human form.
He said, "I truly can't believe it, after decades apart, you have already become a Heavenly Immortal."
"I'm still far from being a Heavenly Immortal... I've only just entered the Divine Immortal realm." Su Qing shook her head slightly, sighing, "Old Turtle, you flatter me."
The old turtle just smiled bitterly and shook his head upon hearing this.
This 'auntie' probably didn't know how many demons spent their entire lives and still couldn't reach the Divine Immortal realm.
Let alone transforming into human form so perfectly.
That Transformation Tribulation... if it were truly that easy to pass.
Then those powerful demons in the world wouldn't look so grotesque.
The old turtle shook his head and asked, "Immortal Lady, do you have something in particular coming here?"
Su Qing answered truthfully, "I had intended to go thank the Old Mother for her guidance, but on the way, I suddenly remembered another benefactor who showed me the way. So I came to see you! To thank you for guiding me back then."
"It's not worthy of such gratitude. It was just a few words." The old turtle merely shook his head upon hearing this.
It was just pointing the way, how could that be considered a favor!
Su Qing smiled slightly; if she felt it was, then it was.
She didn't care what others thought.
Su Qing chatted with the old turtle for a while and also gave him something.
It wasn't anything valuable.
It was just some fruit wine Leng Xiang had brewed at the beginning of the year.
The fruit wine tasted good, and the alcohol content wasn't high, so Su Qing would occasionally have a couple of sips when she had nothing to do.
After all, her alcohol tolerance wasn't good, so she didn't dare to drink too much.
Afraid of making a fool of herself.
"By the way, Immortal Lady, are you going to the Old Mother's Hall later?"
The old turtle, having received the fruit wine, was in a very good mood and naturally became much more talkative, so he actively started chatting with Su Qing about some things.
"Yes! Is something wrong with the Old Mother's Hall?"
The old turtle said, "Hmm, it's said that the Old Mother recently took on a new disciple. And it's a white snake... I wonder what she's thinking. She didn't take you as a disciple back then, but now she's made an exception for that white snake. If the Old Mother knew about your talent, she might regret it, wouldn't she?"
Su Qing was slightly taken aback upon hearing this.
Speaking of white snakes, she did think of something.
She asked, "What is the name of that white snake?"
"I only remember her surname is Bai." The old turtle shook his head slightly.
After all, he was just a worshipped deity of a small village; he knew some rumors but not the details.
Su Qing: "..."
Su Qing actually pretty much knew in her heart who that white snake was...
She just didn't know if it was the one she knew.
Was it the Bai Suzhen she had met? Or the genuine Bai Suzhen?
"Never mind, I'll know when I go and see."
Su Qing shook her head slightly, thinking.
After chatting briefly with the old turtle for a few more sentences, Su Qing also decided to continue on her way.
The old turtle did not try to keep her, merely respectfully saw Su Qing off.
Su Qing exited the peach blossom forest, and the sparrows all flew down from the branches onto Su Qing's shoulders.
Leng Xiang, meanwhile, dropped the peach blossom in her hand and came to Su Qing's side.
Su Qing looked at the spot where Leng Xiang had been standing; many peach blossoms had been scattered about by her.
She must have been bored waiting.
Su Qing gave a helpless smile and said, “Let’s go. To the Old Mother's Hall.”
Leng Xiang nodded slightly and followed Su Qing toward the Old Mother's Hall.
Su Qing lowered her cloud and landed in the forest.
There, she saw a girl sitting cross-legged, seemingly waiting for someone.
The girl wore Daoist robes and held a horsetail whisk, her face pure and adorable.
Su Qing looked at the girl and found her familiar.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she remembered who the girl was.
This was the Daoist girl who had led her to see Li Shan Lao Mu Old Mother of Mount Li back then.
However, Su Qing hadn't expected that after several decades, the girl hadn't changed at all.
She looked exactly the same.
It seemed this girl was likely far from ordinary.
Upon seeing Su Qing, the girl waved and called out:
“Big Green Snake?! So the Old Mother asked me to wait here for you! I never thought that after so long, you’d already cultivated a human form! I almost didn't recognize you!”
Su Qing offered a few humble words in response before asking, “The Old Mother knew I was coming?”
“The Old Mother told me to wait here, so she probably guessed you’d come!” The girl thought for a moment. “But that’s not important! What matters is that the Old Mother told me to wait for you and bring you to see her.”
Su Qing nodded. “Then I shall trouble you.”
“No trouble at all. I’m the Daoist girl by the Old Mother’s side; I do many things for her every day. Leading the way is nothing!”
The girl smiled and said:
“On the other hand, Big Green Snake, could you tell me about your experiences on the way? I’m quite curious how you cultivated a human form so quickly!”
Su Qing nodded; she had nothing to hide about her past.
Along the way, she briefly described her journey to seek the Dao.
The girl listened, sighing with amazement the whole time...
Soon, the group arrived at a side hall.
There were no pilgrims outside this hall, making it exceptionally quiet.
After leading them there, the girl stopped. “The Old Mother wants to see you alone, so go in by yourself! As for that sword and those fat sparrows, I’ll watch over them for you.”
“Alright,” Su Qing agreed.
Just as she was about to push the door open, the girl asked, “Can I pet these sparrows? They look so chubby and cute.”
Su Qing smiled. “Just ask the sparrows themselves.”
The girl nodded, looking a bit confused.
Su Qing pushed the door open and entered. Inside the side hall lay a large white snake as thick as a water bucket, and standing beside it was a woman in green.
The woman in green was as beautiful as a celestial, with skin like congealed fat.
“You’ve arrived?” the woman asked with a faint smile. “Your cultivation has progressed quite well.”
