My conference hall!!!
Qingwei had just felt a sense of relief, stepping out of the conference hall to admire the sunset.
Ever since the battle ended, he had been stationed at the Central Continent Alliance for days on end, mediating disputes among various cultivators and handling mundane sect affairs daily. He was bored to death.
In this life, he only sought peace and quiet. He had finally thought that everything was resolved today, and that he could finally enjoy a few days of retirement, playing chess, sipping tea, fishing, and walking birds.
Who would have thought!
His eye twitched as he gazed at the warm sunlight on the horizon. A gentle breeze brushed past the layered sea of clouds on Sword Peak. The rare moment of relaxation that had welled up in his heart was utterly shattered in the next second by the violent shuddering of the grand, majestic conference hall behind him.
A thunderous roar shattered the heavens and earth. Scorching crimson flames, carrying violent spiritual energy, erupted wildly from the doors, windows, and gaps between the pillars of the conference hall, dyeing half the sky red.
Raging waves of fire surged and billowed in layers. A scorching heatwave swept across the entire Sword Peak. The originally quiet and elegant peak now looked exactly like the sacred flame atop Mount Olympus.
Qingwei was completely dumbfounded. His transcendent, otherworldly composure instantly shattered into pieces.
His heart bled furiously, his brow twitching. He was filled with absolute heartache and madness. This conference hall was his personal property now! His property!
Don't use my house as firewood when you start a fire! Seriously, what the hell!
Qingwei could no longer care about his dignity as a Sword Venerable. With a pale face and gritted teeth, he gripped Flowing Light at his waist, his figure flashing as he plunged headfirst into the rolling sea of fire without hesitation.
The scorching heat rushed at him, warping and distorting the air. The surrounding wooden beams crackled and burst, sending sparks flying in all directions as stone fragments and wood splinters whirled about amidst the violent spiritual energy.
Thick smoke billowed, obscuring his vision. Only clusters of enchanting, blazing flames rampaged through the hall, wildly churning and spitting tongues of fire.
In the center of the hall, Su Li's aura was overwhelming; she had already entered her third stage...
Her half-beast form was fierce and stunning, her posture upright and sharp. Her nine tails were unleashed, dancing wildly in the wind... or rather, in the fire.
Along with her half-beast state, her body was wrapped in a layer of golden-red true phoenix fire. The flames leaped wildly, highlighting her slender yet powerful figure, making her look noble and blazing.
Du Yi, who was next to her, looked incredibly wretched at this moment, already starting to retreat step by step.
His spiritual energy was in complete disarray, his robes slightly curled and wrinkled from the high temperature. His neatly tied hair had completely come undone, fluttering wildly, and his face was covered in anxiety and distress.
The ink shield he conjured trembled violently, on the verge of collapse. Under the high-temperature baking of the true phoenix fire, it was rapidly evaporating and drying up.
Catching sight of Qingwei bursting through the flames from the corner of his eye, a glint of hope instantly lit up in Du Yi's near-collapsing eyes. His voice was hoarse, carrying an extreme, panicked urgency:
“Sword Venerable Qingwei! This woman is crazy! Help me, quick! Any later and I'll really be burned to ashes by her!”
Before he could even finish his sentence, a crisp crack resounded!
The thick, solid ink shield was completely dried up and shattered by the true phoenix fire, dispersing into the air as specks of dark light.
Several exquisite, feather-like blades of fire shot through the air, so fast that one could not react in time.
The weasel-hair brush in Du Yi's hand was just a fraction of a second too slow, leaving him no time to block. The violent impact of the flames instantly hit him, blasting him backward.
He crashed heavily onto the scorching floor. A metallic taste welled up in his throat, and he couldn't help but cough violently. Struggling to prop himself up, he raised his head to look at Su Li standing in the fire, loudly protesting to Qingwei:
“Cough, cough! Sword Venerable Qingwei! Is this how your Central Continent Alliance treats its guests? Resorting to violence over a single disagreement and attacking a guest at will!”
Immediately following, the remaining scattered feather fire-blades continued to pursue him relentlessly, heading straight for Du Yi's vital points with scorching heat.
Qingwei snapped back to his senses. Not daring to delay, he flicked his wrist, suddenly slashing out two bright, sharp beams of sword light.
Clang!
The crisp ring of a sword echoed through the hall as the sharp sword light precisely shattered the incoming fire-blades, sending a shower of sparks fluttering down.
“Su Li! Have you not had enough! What on earth are you doing?!”
In the middle of the sea of fire, Su Li gritted her teeth so hard they clicked, her beautiful face filled with raging anger.
The layers of flame shrouding her body could not hide her turbulent emotions. If one could pierce through the firelight, perhaps they would see an extremely faint, barely perceptible blush on her fair cheeks.
“How dare this scoundrel insult me and try to claim relations with me! As if you're worthy?!”
With those words, she raised her hand to condense the flames, and a blazing longsword flowing with drifting fire patterns suddenly took shape.
The blade was enveloped in layers of brilliant phoenix fire, carrying a majestic power that seemed capable of splitting the world. With a point of her sword, she slashed down fiercely at Du Yi!
The chilling sword momentum caused the air to stagnate, and the scorching heat rushed at his face. Du Yi's face instantly turned deathly pale, his pupils shrinking as his hair stood on end. He was completely frozen in place with fear.
“Deflect!”
Qingwei hurriedly swung his sword to sweep away the surging flames, forcefully blocking this fatal blow. He felt both angry and helpless, his head about to split from the pain.
He turned his head to look at the wretched yet stubborn Du Yi, lowering his voice in exasperation: “What on earth did you say to her to make her this angry? Why did you have to run your mouth and provoke her?!”
As he spoke, his gaze swept over the ruined conference hall—broken beams, charred wood, scorched marks everywhere, burning furniture, and shattered jade. Every bit of destruction made his heart ache.
My house!
On the verge of tears, he could only try to break up the fight, his tone carrying a hint of humble compromise: “Little Su, let's talk this out. If you're really that angry, can you take it outside to fight? Don't tear down my house!”
Having just escaped death, Du Yi immediately shot him an extremely horrified look, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Take it outside to fight? Is that even human language?
He frantically threw looks of help at Qingwei, fully expecting the Sword Venerable to step in and save his life.
Qingwei was also extremely anxious, frantically winking at Du Yi until his eyelids were about to cramp, desperately gesturing for him to quickly back down, admit his mistake, and apologize to put an end to this absurd farce.
“The two of you are truly wonderful!”
Seeing them exchanging glances, Su Li was completely pushed to her limit. Her anger reached its peak, and she could no longer restrain the violent spiritual energy around her.
No longer holding back, she lowered her stance to gather power, and the enchanting crimson true phoenix fire around her suddenly began to transform and sublimate.
The raging flames circulated and refined rapidly, their color slowly transitioning from crimson to a holy, supreme, and noble brilliant golden flowing flame!
The girl's fair and delicate face was filled with deep shame, resentment, and rage. The tips of her ears were flushed red, and her beautiful eyes were stained with layers of hostility. Her chest heaved violently.
Forming hand seals, the vast and boundless spiritual energy around her gathered entirely into her palms. Terrifying power constantly brewed, compressed, and stacked, as golden flowing fire wrapped around her body, shining brilliantly and aweing all directions.
With her ultimate move fully charged, her gaze turned cold, her voice laced with rage:
“Die! Delusional Sun!”
The sun had fallen into the courtyard...
“Yawn...”
Du Qi, bleary-eyed, had just woken up on the couch. He slowly rubbed his eyes, supported his waist, and limped out of the door.
Squinting his sleepy eyes, he saw the raging flames atop Sword Peak from afar. His gaze went blank for a moment.
“What is that? Why is someone setting off fireworks in broad daylight?”
