“Miss Li, you look a bit unwell. Are you sure you're alright?” Movella clapped for the outdoor opera performance while watching Li Yue, who was clutching her lower abdomen with trembling arms. Movella glanced at Li Yue's outfit—a famous high-end brand from the Southern Continent.
The young lady seemed to have covered her lower neck and arms. The lace-trimmed sleeves added an air of nobility. Her underarms and the sides of her chest were exposed, but her fair skin blended seamlessly with the pure white fabric.
Overall, it was a beautiful look, though it seemed intentionally designed to hide something.
It was autumn, but the weather hadn't turned fully cold yet. Only the plants showed signs of withering. The Monthly Orchids in the garden hadn't faded; it was another season to appreciate them. As autumn approached, the deep blue Monthly Orchids slowly turned a withered white, but they hadn't wilted completely, offering a unique, elegant charm.
“I... I'm fine... I just drank some cold water before bed last night, so my stomach is a bit upset today.” Li Yue smiled faintly. She glanced at Clo, who was wearing a blissful grin, and secretly stepped on Clo's foot with her heel, clearly acting out of spite.
Movella clapped her hands, and a standing waiter quickly approached. “Bring this lady a hot drink brewed with brown sugar. Hurry back.”
“Thank you for your kindness.” Li Yue bowed slightly. Her impression of this lady had changed quite a bit. Although the woman's faith made her somewhat uncomfortable, she now accepted that people held all sorts of beliefs. After all, human ignorance wasn't the fault of humans themselves, but the responsibility of the gods who had built a giant cage for humanity.
Night Dew slowly squeezed through the crowd. The onlookers had left a small empty circle around Movella and Li Yue, seemingly intentional in avoiding the academy's highest authority and the lady who looked like a noble from the Royal Court.
She leaned in and whispered something to Movella. Movella's expression changed slightly. She stood up and gave an apologetic smile.
“I'm very sorry, but I have some official business to attend to. Consider it an emergency. Please forgive my rudeness as I take my leave.” Movella slightly lifted her deep purple dress.
Her dress color matched Li Yue's today, but hers was a long gown while Li Yue's was shorter. The back of Li Yue's skirt was long, but the front generously revealed her fair legs. Their designers clearly had different visions, but both styles were striking.
Clo waved them off and pressed closer to Li Yue. Clo was beaming, evidently in a fantastic mood. She had finally vented all the frustrations built up over the past few days. Only Li Yue suffered after the ordeal, forced to use long garments and dark stockings to cover her skin.
Otherwise, those pink hickeys would have been far too obvious. Even Li Yue, who usually didn't care much, would have felt embarrassed.
Li Yue took a small sip of the brown sugar ginger tea. A small slice of dried date and a few goji berries floated on top. It felt warm. Though she didn't strictly need it, she felt a bit more comfortable after drinking. Perhaps she had caught a slight chill from being naked all night.
“Hehe~” Clo rubbed against Li Yue, her face very close. She looked like she was basking in the joy of a bountiful harvest.
“Still laughing... it's all your fault... I'm such a mess today.” Li Yue took another sip of the tea. She felt a bit of warmth spreading through her body, even starting to sweat a little. Her underarms felt clammy. Without sleeves to absorb it, the sweat seemed to trickle down directly over the sides of her breasts, feeling slightly itchy.
“Quick, give me a tissue...” Li Yue glared at Clo in bashful annoyance and took the handkerchief the other girl offered with a giggle. With one hand holding the back of her neck and the other using the handkerchief, she carefully wiped away the sweat. Her face was slightly flushed, likely from the heat...
“A Yue, you're so... so lewd...” Clo watched Li Yue's movements out of the corner of her eye, paying no attention to the stage. Even though they had already seen everything, the presence of clothing somehow added a different kind of beauty.
“I can't wash this handkerchief anymore... hehehe...” Clo tried to press down the corners of her mouth, only to find she couldn't stop herself from grinning.
“Clo... are you thinking about lewd things...” Li Yue looked at Clo with a hint of disdain. She sighed softly. At the thought of what she had to do in the coming hours, her slightly improved mood sank again.
“Sister Li Yue!” A somewhat youthful voice rang out. It sounded like a teenage girl, catching both of their attention—especially Li Yue's, whose face was gradually cooling.
