Chapter 24 | Mind-Controlled by the Villainess? I’ll Turn the Tables and Make Her Mine!

"So you dreamed of me?" Ansu looked at Freya in surprise.

Freya shook her head gently. "I couldn't see your specific image in my dream; it was just a vague, indescribable divine perception..."

"You couldn't even see my face, yet you claim it's me?" Ansu frowned. "I still think you have the wrong person."

"No! I could never be mistaken!" Freya grabbed Ansu's hands and placed them gently against her chest. "Please listen to the voice of my heart, Lord Chosen One! I wouldn't joke about something like this, as it concerns the fate of the entire world..."

"Um..." Ansu was indeed feeling it.

It was large and soft...

So much so that he was too far away to hear any heartbeat at all...

Freya continued to recall her experiences during this time.

"Ever since the divine revelations became more frequent, I've been living in Benalu City."

"I've been trying this entire time to find the Chosen One among the vast crowds, even using various methods, but I never found a single clue..."

"But to my surprise!" Freya's emotions grew excited. "It seems the gods are truly protecting me. Just when I thought I would never find the Lord Chosen One, a mysterious note was suddenly delivered to me!"

"This..." Ansu was speechless. It was because of that note that so much trouble had followed.

"Talin County, Blackstone Town, Elvin Village... that is where I was born." Freya's voice lowered, appearing reluctant to speak of it. "Regarding my identity, it is quite sensitive. At first, I thought someone was trying to use my identity to threaten me from the shadows..."

After saying this, Freya let out a soft sigh. "Because of that note, I haven't been able to eat or sleep properly every day... I was afraid my identity would be exposed and implicate those around me, and I was afraid of being expelled from the Church, unable to continue such a sacred mission..."

"But to my surprise!" Freya's expression became excited again. "In the days after receiving that note, the dream revelations suddenly became even more vivid! I felt as if I could sense a mysterious divine will! The Lord Chosen One was drawing closer and closer to me..."

After finishing, Freya stared at Ansu with a burning gaze, clearly convinced that the person in front of her was the one.

"Wait, wait!" Ansu felt there was something wrong with her logic. "The Chosen One getting closer to you, what does that have to do with me?"

"Even if I was the one who wrote that note! I'm saying if, just if..."

"That doesn't prove I'm the Chosen One, does it? Is there any necessary connection between the two?"

Ansu looked at the fanatical Freya in confusion, thinking she had simply projected her obsession onto him, forcing a connection between the sender of the note and the Chosen One.

"No!" Freya shook her head decisively. "You, Ansu Morris, are the Chosen One! From the first moment I saw you in the lecture hall, I knew you were my Lord Chosen One!"

She wore an exceptionally devout gaze. "Lord Chosen One, I have finally found you. This time, I will never let you out of my sight!"

Ansu looked at Freya helplessly, thinking to himself that she was practically using a cheat code.

Even the powerful cult and Celia couldn't find the Chosen One, yet she could confirm it with a single glance?

He didn't know what to say for a moment; this stubborn, obsessive Holy Maiden had clearly made up her mind about him, and no amount of excuses seemed to work...

"Wait, let me think..." Ansu rubbed his forehead, his brain working rapidly. In this situation, he needed to confirm if Freya was the only one who knew his identity. This was vital!

"Lord Chosen One..." Freya murmured to herself. "Why are you unwilling to admit it? Are you facing some difficulty... or have you not yet awakened to the sacred mission bestowed upon you by the gods?"

"Freya!" Ansu glanced around warily. "Are you sure it's safe here?"

"Lord Chosen One, it is indeed safe. Are you worried that someone is watching us?" Freya looked at the nervous Ansu in confusion.

Ansu nodded.

Freya suddenly closed her eyes, and Ansu immediately felt her fair skin seem to emit a soft, holy glow, as if her entire being was radiating a mysterious and sacred power.

"Lord Chosen One, don't underestimate me!"

After a moment, she slowly opened her eyes and smiled. "I wasn't chosen as the Holy Maiden by the archbishops and believers just because of that divine perception; my strength is also quite formidable!"

"Within a one-kilometer radius of the chapel, there are no abnormal transcendent powers, let alone the aura of black magic. Don't worry, everything here is entirely under my control!"

Ansu felt slightly more at ease; after all, the talent of 【Heart of Radiant Radiance - Freya】 was indeed top-tier.

But it still couldn't compare to 【World Ending Witch - Celia】.

Ansu felt that Freya coming to find him today would definitely be impossible to hide from Celia, so he immediately prepared an emergency plan in his mind.

He certainly couldn't admit it.

Exposing himself now would definitely not end well, but Ansu did want to establish a connection with Freya. To investigate the matter of the destined death, the more clues, the better.

"Freya," Ansu asked seriously, "who else knows that you came to find me? Does Archbishop Paul know?"

Freya shook her head quickly. "None of them know. I decided on this suddenly after seeing you..."

"Oh..." Ansu breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

Seeing that Ansu seemed to value this, Freya continued to explain.

"The archbishops in the Church know that I have been staying in Benalu City to search for the Chosen One, but they do not know that I have found you now."

"Only Archbishop Paul knows about the note. He is a trustworthy person; he was the one who brought me to the Church in the beginning..."

"That's good, that's good..." Ansu smiled and decided to be partially honest with Freya. "I can tell you now that I did indeed write that note to you."

Freya immediately looked delighted. Was the Lord Chosen One finally willing to trust her?

"However!" Ansu's tone shifted. "I do not admit that I am the Chosen One you speak of. As for that, believe it or not."

Freya was stunned for a moment, constantly turning Ansu's words over in her mind.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt there was a hidden meaning...

Not admitting it didn't mean he wasn't.

Lord Ansu is definitely the Chosen One! There was no doubt about it, yet he was unwilling to admit it. This must mean he has his difficulties...

Freya didn't want to make things difficult for the Lord Chosen One; if he was unwilling to admit it, he must have his reasons.

"It's alright, as long as I believe it." Freya revealed a soft smile and said sensibly, "Since Lord Ansu doesn't want to be exposed, I will definitely keep it a secret for you!"

"Very good." Ansu gave a meaningful smile. He hadn't expected the little Holy Maiden to be so cooperative, even coming up with her own explanations.

Maintaining this understanding where only she and he knew was for the best...

"My current identity is somewhat special." Ansu spoke to her mysteriously. "I don't want to attract too much attention, so I hope you can watch your mouth and not cause extra trouble for me."
