Law Freya was merely reciting Trig's achievements from ten years in the future, but to Trig, her words struck a deep chord, perfectly aligning with his own thoughts.
Trig himself was someone who refused to accept the status quo and possessed a highly iron-fisted approach—otherwise, he wouldn't have planned something as drastic as a coup d'état. Thus, once he actually took power, the policies he implemented would undoubtedly be extremely aggressive as well.
Law Freya's proposal to integrate the Church of the Earth was identical to his own thoughts, but Trig hadn't even considered the later plans yet. After all, the coup d'état hadn't even succeeded yet, so what was the point of thinking so far ahead?
But now that Law Freya had laid it out, Trig found it entirely feasible! He even felt as if a master had cleared away the fog and pointed out his future path.
Not to mention, Law Freya's statement, “Even if we must bleed to the last drop, I will never yield a single inch of our land to outsiders!” deeply moved Trig. It was no exaggeration to say that after this simple conversation, his evaluation of Law Freya had undergone a complete transformation.
Trig couldn't help but think of the current King and his pathetic, spineless demeanor. Looking at the young girl before him, he suddenly felt that if she had been the one sitting on the throne from the very beginning, he probably wouldn't have launched a coup d'état at all.
After all, from start to finish, Trig didn't have much of a desire for power. He simply wanted to make this country a better place, nothing more. Therefore, he didn't truly care who sat on the throne.
However, even though Trig now held a highly favorable opinion of Law Freya, it was still impossible for him to just hand over the throne so easily based on her words alone.
He had spent so much time planning, and success was just around the corner, only for a stranger to sweep in and reap the rewards with a few words. How could any normal person accept that willingly?
Well, Trig actually was willing, but precisely because of this, the timing of Law Freya's appearance was far too convenient, and every single word she said struck a chord with him. This, instead, aroused Trig's suspicion.
The most obvious question was: where on earth did Law Freya obtain this information? And was her purpose truly to make the country a better place, just as she claimed?
Although Law Freya mentioned they could sign a contract, if there was anyone in this world who trusted contracts the least, it would definitely be a Punisher of the Law Pathway. If an extraordinary was truly determined to violate a contract, they would always find a way—it was merely a question of how high the price would be.
Trig asked, “I am curious. How on earth did you learn of my plans?”
Normally, one's first reaction to such a situation would be to suspect a mole within their own ranks. But Trig racked his brains and couldn't think of anyone who seemed suspicious; he trusted everyone around him completely.
That left only some kind of unreasonable extraordinary ability. Although he didn't know what kind of ability it was, an Arbiter certainly didn't possess the power to gather information out of thin air. Thus, Trig could deduce that there must be someone else standing behind Law Freya.
Could these people be supporting and assisting Law Freya in ascending the throne? If so, would they appear after she took power, using her position as monarch to seek benefits and extract rewards?
Law Freya thought for a moment, then said, “This information originates from an extraordinary organization called the Wheel of Destiny. A great existence within the organization told me.”
At a time like this, Law Freya certainly couldn't say, “I won't tell you where I got the information.” After all, honesty was paramount right now. If she kept secrets, Trig would inevitably grow suspicious, greatly reducing the chances of a successful partnership.
And she definitely couldn't say she saw it through a future simulation. After careful consideration, the extraordinary organization she had made up on the spot to fool Victor seemed like an excellent choice.
Law Freya said, “But rest assured, you don't have to worry about this organization doing anything detrimental to the Kingdom of Tarapaca. To Him, a tiny nation and a petty monarch are completely beneath His notice—nothing of consequence.”
Trig frowned slightly and murmured, “The Wheel of Destiny? Can you share a bit more information?”
He had never heard of this organization. But from what Law Freya described, the leader of this group was highly likely a being at the demigod level or above. Furthermore, the name "Wheel of Destiny" made it hard not to associate it with the Destiny Pathway.
If so, it actually seemed quite logical. It wouldn't be difficult at all for a high-rank entity of the Destiny Pathway to uncover Trig's meticulously prepared plans, after which He passed the information to the white-haired girl before him.
Law Freya said, “I don't know the exact details either. One day, while asleep, some others and I were suddenly pulled into a mysterious place. He told us we could address Him as 【Destiny】. Since then, we gather in that place for meetings every once in a while.”
“The members of the organization exchange information and help one another. As for 【Destiny】, He rarely participates in the discussions, merely watching in silence from the sidelines. However, if any member encounters a difficulty, they can consult 【Destiny】, and He will provide the answer. This time, I asked Him how to make the Kingdom of Tarapaca stronger.”
“As for anything beyond that, I cannot disclose it. Please forgive me.”
In truth, it wasn't that she couldn't disclose it; she was just starting to run out of lies. The more she made up, the easier it would be to expose herself, so this much was enough.
Pausing for a moment, Law Freya added, “There is another member in the Wheel of Destiny—none other than the Saintess of the Church of the Earth. She is also willing to help me make this country stronger and improve the lives of ordinary people.”
In short, after saying all this, the core message Law Freya wanted to convey was: “I have backing!”
Trig clearly realized this as well. Although he had long suspected she had someone behind her, the backing Law Freya described still far exceeded his expectations.
This meant that if he wanted to make a move against Law Freya now, he would have to take the Wheel of Destiny into account. Leaving aside the other members, what if that big boss called Destiny took offense and came to avenge Law Freya?
A powerful entity who was at least a demigod, and possibly even higher, was not someone Trig could afford to provoke right now.
So, given that cooperation offered numerous benefits—a smoother transition of power, no opposition from the commoners and most nobles, and the assistance of the Church's Saintess—whereas opposing her meant risking hostility with a mysterious organization and incurring the wrath of a demigod of the Destiny Pathway... the choice was glaringly obvious.
Finally, Trig stared blankly at Law Freya, looking straight into her eyes. He did not see even a shred of greed in her gaze. Within those beautiful, sapphire-like blue eyes, Trig felt as if he were looking at an incomparably pure soul.
After a brief moment, Trig said, “A pleasure cooperating with you.”
