Chapter 90 | Miss Destiny's Speedrun Manual

His Majesty the King spoke, “Everyone, the reason I held this aristocratic gathering today, besides celebrating that the Pentagram Alliance of the east abandoned their invasion out of fear of our nation's power, is for this!”

Just hearing the first half of his sentence made Freya grumble inwardly, “Wait, bro, the Pentagram Alliance calling off their attack has absolutely nothing to do with you, does it? Wasn't that General Jerome's doing?”

“And fear our nation's power? The Kingdom of Tarapaca has gone completely to the dogs, do you seriously not know that?”

While Freya was complaining to herself, the King continued, “Namely, these potions! Just recently, the royal family successfully crafted our very first Rank Seven potion—a demigod-level potion!”

The moment he said this, many nobles crowded around, wanting to see with their own eyes what this so-called demigod potion actually looked like. Euphy, who had quietly made her way over to Freya at some point, patted her on the shoulder and said, “Come on, let's head over and take a look too.”

Although there was a large crowd, everyone present was a respectable noble. There was no pushing or shoving. Moreover, upon seeing two beautiful ladies like Freya and Euphy approaching, many of them gentlemanly stepped aside to make way.

Thus, without much effort, Freya and Euphy arrived in front of the display case. Freya immediately cast her gaze toward the potion placed all by itself at the very top of the cabinet.

This potion did not look like liquid at all. Instead, it resembled a bottle filled with glowing stardust sand. Just by looking at it, Freya felt as if she could hear a rustling sound in her ears, like sand slipping through an hourglass.

Euphemia said, “This... should be the Rank Seven potion for the 【Arbiter】, one of the three class advancements of the Law Pathway. After all, His Majesty the King is an Arbiter. If he was preparing a Rank Seven potion, he would definitely prioritize preparing one for himself.”

Freya nodded. She recalled what she knew about the Law Pathway. Its three class advancements were the Punisher, the Arbiter, and the Listener. Captain Nolan was a Punisher, and the most classic ability of this pathway was to distort and deflect an enemy's attacks.

Luna also had an extraordinary item with a similar effect, and he had used it in a simulation to make Euphy pummel a pink-haired teammate.

As for the Listener, Mobile Squad Captain Jessica belonged to this class. Its signature ability was Wish, making the upper and lower limits of this class extremely high.

Only with the Arbiter—Freya had yet to encounter a single Law extraordinary of this class.

While Freya was lost in thought, a noble stepped forward and asked, “May I take a look at these potions?”

The King nodded. “Of course. That is the entire purpose of this gathering.”

The noble then opened the glass door of the display case, took out a Rank Four potion, and began to inspect it.

Seeing this, Freya also took a step forward. Deliberately pitching her voice a bit higher to sound cute, she said, “Um... may I take a look too?”

However, the King did not agree immediately this time. Instead, he looked at Freya with a slight frown, his expression filled with confusion and contemplation. “And you are...?”

It was no exaggeration to say that the King recognized every single noble present, yet Freya was the only one he did not know. The answer was obvious: Freya was not a noble.

While anyone was technically allowed to look at these potions, that privilege was strictly limited to nobles. A wild girl who had popped out of some unknown corner was clearly not covered by this rule.

Euphy also realized things were going south. She should have been the one to go up, inspect them, and then hand them to Freya. Although this was theoretically not allowed either, as long as Freya returned to reality the moment she got the potions, there wouldn't be any consequences. Euphy simply hadn't expected Freya to be so bold and decisive, directly stepping forward to ask for them.

Normally, any person would feel at least some fear when facing the king of a country, not to mention that the King was a Law Pathway extraordinary who possessed the extraordinary ability of Coercion. Freya was currently just an ordinary person, meaning she was feeling the full brunt of this Coercion. How did she have the courage?

As for the truth, although Freya had no memories of her past life, she still retained her past life's common sense. She didn't have a single shred of awe or reverence for things like kings. Moreover, this was a simulation. She wasn't even afraid of dying, so what was there to fear?

Just as Euphy was about to step in and smooth things over, to her surprise, the King's brow suddenly relaxed, and he actually nodded. “Why not?”

Hearing this, Freya looked at the Rank Seven potion. She originally wanted to ask, “Can I look at this one?” but after a second thought, she decided to start from Rank One to gather the lower-rank ones first.

So, Freya reached out and took the bottom-most potion, which was the Rank One Law potion. After holding it and examining it for a moment, she couldn't help but glance back at the King. She found him watching her with an expressionless face, leaving her with no idea what the old man was thinking.

Under his gaze, Freya held the Rank One potion in her left hand, making a motion as if she was done looking and wanted to put it back, while her right hand reached inside at the same time to grab the Rank Two potion.

Switching them to take a look—that was a fairly normal thing to do, right? But at the exact moment before the first potion was put back and the second was picked up, with both potions in her hands, Freya immediately exited the simulation.

“Save to Save Slot 4 and rename to 【Law Freya】.”

In the next second, when Freya snapped out of it, she was already back in the room the butler had assigned to her in Euphemia's house.

Freya waved her hand to summon Save Slot 4. Watching another "herself" appear out of thin air before her, the not-yet-Law-Pathway Law Freya placed the two potions in her hands onto the nearby cabinet. After that, her main body recalled her back into the system.

Although Freya really wanted to have Law Freya drink the potions to experience the new extraordinary abilities, she couldn't do it just yet.

This was because she still had to enter the simulation several more times. To bring items out, she would have to overwrite this save slot every single time. If she drank the potions now, wouldn't she just turn back into an ordinary person once the slot was overwritten later?

But right after that, Freya suddenly had a thought. “Wait, that's not right. Since they're both ordinary people anyway, I can just overwrite the main body. Besides, after overwriting, I'll be fully dressed with my hair done and makeup applied, which saves so much trouble. Isn't that even better?”
