Chapter 120 | My Avatar Is Becoming a God

Watching "Bai Feifei's" eyes light up with eagerness, Assistant Lin fell silent instantly.

Why was she suddenly so ready to start a fight?

Did I say anything like that just now?

Is she really a woman? Could she be some kind of super-aggressor?

The other party was the Principal of Yaoguang Academy, Zheng Ziyun. He was of a very high generation, on the same level as the Principal of Qingping.

Because of his seniority and the fact that his former students were all over the city, he was highly respected. In the absence of their own Principal, Qingping Academy had to show him proper respect.

He had specifically requested that "Bai Feifei," the recently famous young talent, be among those to receive them.

That was why Assistant Lin had come to get her, but seeing "Bai Feifei's" current attitude, she decided it was better not to mention that part.

"Teacher Bai," she said, changing her tone, "they are here for an exchange program, not to look for trouble. Please, try to stay calm."

"Tomorrow, Yaoguang Academy's Elite Class will spar with our Elite Class. Please help the students prepare, and I hope you can keep your temper in check."

Xu Mo raised an eyebrow. He naturally didn't believe in any so-called exchange program.

Choosing this specific time to 'study'?

He guessed that among this group, there were plenty of people connected to pharmaceutical companies or certain families who were coming specifically to cause trouble.

Thinking of this, he cracked his wrists and deactivated the effect of the Gaze of the Ancient One.

Every student in the training hall collapsed to the ground simultaneously, gasping for air.

They looked toward "Bai Feifei" with confused eyes, not quite understanding why the session had ended early today.

"Listen up, everyone. Someone is coming to challenge us tomorrow," Xu Mo said, looking at Ye Yu and the others.

"I don't have any special requirements. Just hit them as hard as you can. If you win, you get a few days off."

"But if you lose... hehehe."

Assistant Lin: ...

She opened her mouth, wondering if this was how a pre-battle pep talk was supposed to go.

Forget it, nothing she said would matter anyway.

She gave up on the idea and turned to leave.

...

The next morning, the sun was shining brightly.

At the entrance of Qingping Academy, a line of pitch-black vintage sedans came to a slow halt outside the gates.

The doors opened, and the first to step out were a group of young people in uniform—students from the Yaoguang Academy Elite Class.

Following them, several reporters carrying cameras filed out, skillfully setting up their equipment at the school gate.

Yaoguang Academy had come for an exchange, yet they had brought a whole swarm of reporters with them. The spectacle was quite grand.

Then, several staff members ran out, carrying a roll of red carpet which they unrolled in front of the car doors! It was exceptionally flamboyant!

Finally, an old man wearing a deep gray robe stepped out of the second car.

His hair was white, but his back was ramrod straight, and he wore a relaxed smile on his face.

This was the Principal of Yaoguang Academy, Zheng Ziyun.

He stood at the entrance of Qingping Academy, scanned the surroundings, and looked at Assistant Lin, who was there to greet them.

"Principal Zheng, welcome, welcome."

"It was a long journey. Please, come inside."

Zheng Ziyun didn't move. His gaze bypassed Assistant Lin and swept across the area behind her.

Bai Feifei was not there.

Zheng Ziyun cleared his throat and spoke calmly, though his voice carried a hint of suppressed dissatisfaction.

"Qingping Academy still maintains its good habit of simplicity; you've even skipped the ceremonial cannons."

"However, Little Lin, aren't you missing a few people?"

Assistant Lin's heart skipped a beat, but she maintained her polite and calm expression.

"It's like this," she said, adjusting her glasses. "The Elite Class has some urgent matters to attend to, and Teacher Bai cannot step away for the moment."

"She is inside preparing the venue to welcome you."

She didn't even believe her own words.

Preparing the venue? Would that person ever prepare a venue?

Zheng Ziyun stared at Assistant Lin for several seconds before laughing.

"Ho ho, young people do have their personalities."

With that, he put his hands behind his back and began walking inside at a leisurely pace, as if he were a leader conducting an inspection.

The group of Yaoguang students and reporters followed closely behind.

The crowd marched through the campus paths of Qingping Academy, heading straight for the training hall.

Zheng Ziyun walked at the front, his mouth never resting.

"Young people nowadays really understand rules less and less."

"Back when I fought side-by-side with your Principal, Dawn City wasn't as peaceful as it is now. Back then, when Scavengers met, they never missed a single point of etiquette."

The reporters nearby hurried to thrust their recording equipment forward.

Zheng Ziyun continued.

"Later, when Qingping Academy was first built and lacked instructors, I even came to teach voluntary classes."

"Thinking back now, I can't even remember how many years it's been."

He spoke with a rhythmic sway of his head, as if recounting the glorious days of the past.

"And later... that girl Liu Yun. She was so young then, just an Edgerunner, and she even taught at your academy for a while."

"Now she's become a Prophet! Time truly does fly."

"I just didn't expect that as times changed, the rules would change too."

Zheng Ziyun sighed, looking like a man overwhelmed by emotion.

The Yaoguang Academy students following behind him all straightened their backs, their faces full of pride.

Their Principal was a figure from the same era as Prophet Liu Yun—even earlier, in fact. With such seniority on display, they felt a shared sense of glory.

The reporters' hands moved even faster, their recorders almost shoved into Zheng Ziyun's face.

The group marched on, moving at an extremely slow pace.

Everyone followed behind Zheng Ziyun. As he walked slowly, there were people in front of him constantly unrolling the carpet.

Despite saying it was an exchange program, he wasn't in any hurry; it was more like he was holding a press conference.

Assistant Lin walked beside him, a professional smile plastered on her face, offering a few supportive remarks from time to time.

This senior wasn't very easy to talk to, but she had dealt with even more difficult people lately, so she was used to it.

However, she now had an inexplicably bad premonition.

This senior loved to flaunt his seniority way too much.

Could Bai Feifei take this? With her temper, would something go wrong?

...

Qingping Academy, Elite Class.

By now, the massive training hall had been renovated overnight. The central training area had been cleared, and the surrounding stands were set up to facilitate the sparring, exchange, and learning.

At this moment, a figure walked out from the training hall.

Bai Feifei.

She was wearing a black training uniform with her sleeves rolled up past her forearms, revealing her pale, slender arms. She held a ruler in her hand.
