After the silence came panic.
The first to break the silence in the crowd were, ironically, the students who still had no idea what was going on.
“What blood vessel?”
“The Old... what? Isn't that just a legend?”
“If that thing just now really has to do with an Evil God... are we all going to go mad?!”
“I saw it just now!”
Fear gripped everyone's hearts, spreading through the crowd like a plague. As time ticked by, they felt themselves drawing closer and closer to death.
Xie Jin stood frozen. Hearing “Bai Feifei's” words, his expression filled with utter disbelief as he looked down at the camera on his chest.
On the other side of the camera, Xie Xuan sat before the monitoring console at the camp, his expression no different from his younger brother's.
Shock, bewilderment, and a trace of blankness from having his worldview completely shattered.
Yet, when put that way, it actually made perfect sense!
After all, even the remnant pages of the Book of Answers couldn't identify what that thing was.
Related to an Evil God? In all of Turing City, no one had ever dared to think in that direction!
Turing City prided itself on being at the pinnacle of human cognition, yet they didn't even know they had an Evil God in their own collection room.
If Bai Feifei was right, then those traitors stealing the object was practically equivalent to clearing a landmine for Turing City!
Beside him, Liu Yun also wore a solemn expression, her eyes darting back and forth to the lagging video feed.
In truth, after learning the Masked Hermit Society's goals and seeing them remain here, she had already harbored such a suspicion.
She had simply been too afraid to admit it.
An Evil God's blood vessel?
Just the thought of it was enough to make one break into a cold sweat. For all these years, Dawn City had essentially been built on top of a powder keg!
...
On the red soil, Wan Qianhong was still half-kneeling on the ground, the blood at the corner of her mouth not yet wiped clean, and dried droplets of blood still clinging to her eyelashes.
She was processing the information she had just received.
Then, she suddenly noticed someone beside her trembling, and she looked over in confusion.
He Jinfan stood beside Wan Qianhong, the corners of his mouth beneath his mask curling upward frantically.
An Evil God's blood vessel!
He knew it. He knew the Masked Hermit Society was real!
He was shaking all over with excitement. To be able to witness this with his own eyes—his life was truly complete!
“Hahahahaha!”
Finally, unable to hold it in any longer, he burst into roaring laughter!
“I knew it! I knew it!”
“I definitely came to the right place. This area really does have those bastards' corpse parts.”
As he laughed, his aura began to skyrocket like a launching rocket, looking as if he was about to erupt.
Of course, in Xu Mo's eyes, he was still Level 52. Just like at the start, it was pure bluffing.
Listening to his words, Zhulong's features began to contort.
“That is not some mere 'corpse part'!”
He suddenly roared, his face twitching violently. His pupil-less eyes glared daggers at He Jinfan, his killing intent practically palpable.
He could not accept this.
He could not accept the other man's flippant tone.
How could a word like "corpse part" be used to describe such an existence? Merely uttering it was a form of blasphemy.
What he found even more unacceptable was how this guy seemed to know the Mother Goddess even better than he did!
He hadn't even known it was a "blood vessel"!
His gaze darted back and forth between He Jinfan and the distant “Bai Feifei.”
These two—no, this organization—were they finally planning to get serious now?
From the very beginning, their actions had defied all logic. They had been laughing and joking the entire time, as if they were just playing a game.
The woman had been inexplicably slacking off, while the yellow-masked guy had basically been window-shopping the entire time.
It wasn't until just now, when Her power manifested, that these two finally showed any signs of taking things seriously.
Zhulong's pupils contracted. He felt an extreme, overwhelming contempt radiating from the Masked Hermit Society toward him!
They had never once regarded him as an opponent. From start to finish, their target had always been the Mother Goddess!
How bold!
Zhulong clenched his teeth, his anger and killing intent toward this organization reaching an absolute peak.
“Stop playing dumb!” Zhulong's voice suddenly turned exceptionally hideous.
He raised his right hand, slowly clenching his fingers in the air. His voice was as calm as the dead silence before a storm.
“In that case, let's get serious.”
“Since you look down on me so much, then today, I shall bury all of you right here!”
Xu Mo found this completely baffling.
His contempt for everyone was perfectly equal.
Why was this guy suddenly throwing a tantrum? Did he have sensitive skin or something?
But Zhulong had no intention of wasting any more words. As his voice fell, his aura suddenly began to skyrocket!
Within moments, it far surpassed that of Hong Jiu and Xie Jin, who had been locked in a fierce battle with him earlier, reaching a terrifying height.
On his exposed skin, the tattoos seemed to come alive, slithering along the contours of his muscles and glowing with a faint, inky green fluorescence.
Xiao Xinghan's face twitched, and he moved instantly.
He wasn't the type to give his opponent time to complete a cast animation.
The ground exploded instantly as dozens of sharp stone spikes burst from the earth, thrusting toward Zhulong from all directions simultaneously.
Zhulong stood there, completely motionless.
The stone spikes abruptly stopped a few meters in front of him, as if slamming into an invisible wall, before shattering one after another into a cloud of dust.
Xiao Xinghan's expression changed.
The next second, Zhulong's right shoulder suddenly bulged.
It wasn't a bulge from muscle expansion; rather, something was pushing outward from within.
The skin was stretched until it was translucent, revealing dark red flesh and white bone fragments beneath.
Then, a head squirmed and struggled to grow out from the bulge!
Its features were contorted, eyes tightly shut, and mouth wide open, looking as though it were in extreme agony.
Immediately after, the areas under both of Zhulong's armpits began to shift.
Bones cracked and popped, accompanied by the sudden sound of tearing skin.
Two arms grew out from beneath his original arms.
One new head, two new arms.
The original human form was now completely distorted. He stood there like an evil god stepped right out of some cult mural.
Zhulong's upper body swelled violently, looking as if the bodies of two people had been forcibly fused together.
Hong Jiu's eyes widened, and he cursed aloud, “What the fuck is that?!”
Everyone present took a step back. Even the aberration horde was terrified; some of the aberrations on the outer perimeter actually turned and fled!
In the distance, Xu Mo raised an eyebrow as he looked at Zhulong's new form.
Then, with great surprise, he commented:
“You've actually got some neat tricks.”
“Evolving from one head and two arms to two heads and four arms?”
Bai Feifei: ...
Why did she feel like the Old-Timer was secretly swearing at him just now?
Zhulong cast a glance at “Bai Feifei.”
The killing intent in those eyes had almost solidified.
Just then, a sudden cry of alarm came from the back of the crowd.
A student from Qingping Academy stared blankly at Zhulong, pointing a trembling finger in that direction, a face looking as if they had seen a ghost.
“D... Dean?!”
