Chapter 4 | My Beast Taming Space Hides a Gacha Pool

When she looked at Ziyue, the fox had already opened a bottle of C-grade nutrient solution that had appeared on the ground and was licking it.

Liu Yi walked over and patted Ziyue’s head. “How is it? Does it taste good? How does it compare to the newborn pet nutrient solution we have at home?”

“Bingbing!”

Ziyue nodded happily, feeling that this one tasted much better!

Seeing Ziyue’s energetic appearance, Liu Yi thought to herself that the nutrient solution from the gacha seemed to be better suited for pets.

“Alright, now that you’ve had your fill, come and help me with something.” Liu Yi picked up Ziyue and walked to the stone pool.

Ziyue tilted her head. “Bingbing!”

No problem, leave it to me!

Liu Yi smiled, placed Ziyue in front of the light screen, and pointed at the ten-pull button. “Then I’ll have to trouble Ziyue to click this for me.”

Ziyue raised her small paw and pressed it.

The pool water churned, and card phantoms began to spin rapidly. Then, ten cards flew out in sequence: five whites, four greens, and one blue.

【C-grade pet nutrient solution * 10】

【C-grade recovery liquid * 10 (recovers 10% stamina, takes effect immediately)】x2

【C-grade energy liquid * 10 (recovers 10% energy, takes effect immediately)】x2

【B-grade pet skill proficiency booster: 1%】x2

【Frostberry】

【B-grade pet skill book: Ice Spike】

【Ice Fox exclusive evolution item: Ice Heart Stone】

Is this color distribution right?

When she had pulled just now, only one green had appeared. Now that Ziyue was pulling, not only were there greens, but even a blue had shown up.

It was hard not to suspect that the system was targeting her personally.

Seeing the Ice Fox exclusive evolution item, the Ice Heart Stone, Liu Yi frowned slightly.

She remembered from the information she had looked up on the Ice Fox evolution chain that an Ice Fox didn't need any evolution items to evolve into its next stage, the Snow-Drinking Fox.

As long as its energy was full at the Junior stage, it could evolve into the Intermediate stage.

So what was this item for?

...

Liu Yi withdrew her consciousness from the Beast Taming Space, sat down at her computer, and summoned Ziyue out as well.

After Ziyue emerged, she jumped onto Liu Yi’s lap and lay down obediently, her tail slowly swaying from side to side.

She needed to check which high school to apply for in advance. Every high school had different advantages and different application requirements. She needed to prepare and train during this summer vacation.

Liu Yi turned on the computer and pulled up the information on the beast taming high schools in the Longwu Region for comparison.

【Longwu No. 1 Beast Taming High School】

- Advantages: Strong faculty. The principal and vice principal are both Master rank Beast Tamers, and several Advanced rank and Quasi-Master rank Beast Tamers teach at the school.

- Application Requirements: Awakening development progress reaches 11% or higher, or place in the top eight of the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament.

【Qinglan Advanced Beast Taming Academy】

- Advantages: Rich field combat courses. The school owns several Secret Realms suitable for Trainee and Junior stage Beast Tamers to gain experience.

- Application Requirements: Participate in the academy's Secret Realm summer camp and complete tasks, or place in the top sixteen of the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament.

【Xinghui Beast Taming Experimental High School】

- Advantages: Strong scientific research capabilities, specializing in pet evolution and breeding research.

- Application Requirements: Submit a training plan for your pet that reaches at least the Advanced rank.

【Yunhai International Beast Taming Academy】

- Advantages: Fixed slots for cross-continental exchange students.

- Application Requirements: Pass the school's written exam and practical test, or place in the top three of the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament.

...

【Tianqi Beast Taming High School】

- Advantages: Relatively free, loose school management.

- Application Requirements: Register for the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament; no specific ranking required.

These schools were all investigated based on the top ten recommended rankings, but the last school she found was a bit eccentric in terms of its advantages and requirements.

Liu Yi prepared to note it down separately and look into it more closely later.

However, almost all the application requirements mentioned participating in the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament. It seemed that in the eyes of these schools, whether a Trainee Beast Tamer could cooperate well with their pet in actual combat was quite important.

While she was taking notes, her phone suddenly vibrated.

Liu Yi picked up her phone and tapped it open. It was a push notification from the Beast Tamer Forum: 《Shocking! Super Genius Appears at the Longwu Beast Taming Association Administrative Hall—14% Development Progress Right After Awakening!》

The original poster, "Frontline Gossip," had posted a candid photo of the detector, and the comment section was already exploding:

【2L (Your pet is great, it's mine now): Classic case of starting with one photo and making up the rest, right?】

【3L (Fire Type is Number One): Photoshopped, right? My uncle has worked at the Association for ten years and has never seen such a case.】

【15L (Why isn't Boxing Bunny considered a cute bunny): +1 for being at the scene. I saw it with my own eyes; both times the detector measured 14%.】

【30L (The Self-Cultivation of a Beast Tamer): How is that possible? It took me three years after awakening to reach 15%.】

【45L (Don't ask, if you ask, you're right): Replying to 30L, is it possible you're just a noob? (dog head emoji for safety)】

【70L (Tournament Fan): I heard it’s Liu Ran’s younger sister. Genetic advantage.】

【72L (I want a Dragon Type too): Who is Liu Ran?】

【75L (Tournament Fan): Liu Ran, a 21-year-old Quasi-Master Beast Tamer. She won the championship in the Luohai Region's regional competition this year. She was at 12% when she first awakened.】

【90L (I want a Dragon Type too): 21 years old? Quasi-Master Beast Tamer? I know both of those terms separately, but why do they feel so foreign when put together?】

【133L (My Little Electric Tiger can do a backflip): Then doesn't that mean this sister with 14% at her first awakening could be just like Liu Ran in the future, or even better?】

【198L (Anonymous): Heh, maybe she used some prohibited drugs...】

【199L (999th Day of Being Zapped by a Thunder-Patterned Hound): ↑ Pure envy.】

Liu Yi read through all the comments. She didn't post her own opinion but simply gave a like to the comments from 75L and 133L.

After exiting the post, a stickied title in red on the Beast Tamer Forum caught her eye:

《Recommended Junior Pets for Newly Awakened Young Beast Tamers' First Contract》

Although Liu Yi had already contracted an Ice Fox, based on the high school application requirements she had looked up, she was basically certain to participate in the Longwu High School Entrance Tournament.

The Longwu High School Entrance Tournament was an event for all Trainee Beast Tamers, most of whom would be teenagers her age who had just awakened and contracted their first pet.
