The setting sun illuminated the Tower of Trials as Liu Yi walked out, carrying Ziyue.
Tiny ice crystals still clung to Ziyue's fur, and a storm seemed to swirl in her purple eyes.
Liu Yi gently stroked Ziyue's head. "Tomorrow is the finals."
"Bingbing."
Ziyue looked up and rubbed her chin against Liu Yi's.
By the window of the principal's office, Principal Shen accepted the Authority Card from a staff member. She watched them leave, a smile playing on her lips.
"It seems tomorrow's finals will be quite interesting..."
......
Night fell, and Liu Yi was back home.
Ziyue was perched on the sofa, eating Ice-type latent energy pills from the coffee table.
Liu Yi emerged after her shower, drying her hair as she checked messages on her electronic bracelet and phone.
【Special Reminder: The Finals will be held tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the Longwu Central Arena】
【Zimeng's Dream: Nanyun and I will be in the front row cheering for you tomorrow! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧】
【Green Lamp with Clouds: Adjust your state, and do your best.】
【The Beautiful Master of Cute Shadow: Liu Yi! Go, go! Shadow and Sister Qianfan and I will also be there to support you tomorrow! ヾ(≧∪≦*)ノ〃】
After replying to the messages, Liu Yi sat on her bed and began to meditate.
Two hours later, her meditation ended, and Liu Yi submerged her consciousness into her Beast Taming Space.
She pulled up Ziyue's information:
【Name: Ice Fox】
【Attribute: Ice】
【Level: Junior stage (109%)】
【Skills: Ice Blade (Expert level 44%), Frost Breath (Expert level 43%), Ice Armor (Proficient 61%), Ice Spike (Entry level 98%)】
【Trait: Ice Soul Awakening (Entry level 10%)】
Liu Yi's gaze lingered for a moment on the proficiency progress of Ice Spike and the comma after it.
During these two rest days, she and Ziyue had spent all their time on the 79th floor of the Tower of Trials, significantly reducing the time spent training other skills.
Liu Yi picked up two 【B-rank Pet Skill Proficiency Boosters: 1%】 and dropped them onto the words 'Ice Spike' on the information panel.
【Ice Spike (Entry level 98%) → Ice Spike (Proficient 10%)】
Next, Liu Yi took 20 【B-rank Pet Trait Proficiency Boosters: 1%】 and the 7 【A-rank Pet Trait Proficiency Boosters: 10%】 she had saved up so far, dropping all of them onto 'Ice Soul Awakening'.
【Ice Soul Awakening (Entry level 10%) → Ice Soul Awakening (Proficient 10%)】
Facing Su Wenxi and her Moonlight Marten, she had to be fully prepared. No one could guarantee that what they had shown so far was their full strength.
Having done all this, Liu Yi withdrew her consciousness from the Beast Taming Space.
Ziyue had already curled up beside her and fallen asleep, a tiny paw resting on her leg.
However, Liu Yi still couldn't sleep, so she picked up her phone to browse the forum for a bit.
She opened the Beast Tamer Forum, and the popular posts on the Longwu Region sub-forum immediately caught her eye.
《Championship Prediction! Liu Yi VS Su Wenxi! Junior pet VS Intermediate pet!》
【OP: Tomorrow is the finals! Both contestants crushed their way through to the final showdown! [Data Comparison] attached!】
Top replies:
【3L (Ice-type Enthusiast): I'm betting on Liu Yi! Don't ask why, it's just that Ice-type is Number One!】
【7L (Anonymous): Honestly, I didn't expect Cui Xiangming to be eliminated. I thought the finals would be Cui Xiangming vs. Su Wenxi...】
【13L (Boxing Bunny isn't a cute bunny?): 7L, stop bringing up old ghosts, we're discussing Liu Yi and Su Wenxi now!】
【34L (Tournament Fan): Rational analysis, two key points to consider.
1. Does Liu Yi have a way to counter the Moonlight Marten's Crescent Leap + Moonlight Slash combo?
2. Can the Ice Fox evolve during the finals?
At least in my opinion, a Junior pet cannot beat an Intermediate pet.】
【55L (Anonymous): Su Wenxi's Moonlight Marten might have more than just Crescent Leap and Moonlight Slash, which are B-rank skills.】
Liu Yi's finger paused on the screen.
It seemed someone else had the same thought as her.
Liu Yi exited and opened another popular post:
《Discussion: What will be the champion, runner-up, and third-place prizes for this year's Longwu High School Entrance Tournament?》
【OP: According to past practice, rewards usually include the following three categories:
1. Yan Country Coins (300,000-700,000)
2. Pet breeding resources
3. Evolution items required for the contestant's pet
What do you all think it will be this year?】
Top replies:
【2L (Accumulating Evolution Items Until Broke): I guess it'll be a breeding resource + 500,000 Yan Country Coins, just like last year.】
【10L (No Retreat in My Dictionary): I heard that sponsors increased their investment this year, and the champion might directly receive a pet egg with a high racial potential!】
Liu Yi pondered for a moment, then replied anonymously:
【99L (Anonymous): Is there a chance this year's champion reward could be a Myriad Realm Secret Realm entry qualification?】
Immediately, replies poured in like a flood:
【100L (Pet Groomer): Is the upstairs user dreaming? While the official conditions for Myriad Realm Secret Realm entry qualification have no set pattern, it surely wouldn't be given out at a Trainee Beast Tamer tournament, right?】
【103L (I Am an NPC): Wake up! The Longwu High School Entrance Tournament isn't that prestigious yet!】
【111L (Your Pet is Great, Now It's Mine): But there are indeed rumors this year that the rewards have been upgraded...】
Liu Yi turned off her phone and gently exhaled.
It was time to rest.
No matter what the reward was, her goal had always been the championship.

August 25th, Longwu Central Arena.
On the enormous circular screen inside the venue, highlights of the two finalists were playing on a loop:
— Liu Yi's Ice Fox used Ice Spike to self-inflict damage and break hypnosis.
— Su Wenxi's Moonlight Marten used Crescent Leap followed by Moonlight Slash to one-shot her opponent.

In the exclusive contestant area in the front row of the spectator stands, Huo Nanyun and Qi Zimeng were already seated.
Qi Zimeng held up the support sign she had made over the past two days, which featured a Q-version of Ziyue and the words 【Ziyue, Go!】 written beside it.
Huo Nanyun, though her expression was calm, also held the support sign Qi Zimeng had handed her, but she was too embarrassed to raise it.
"Nanyun, do you think Liu Yi will win?" Qi Zimeng asked nervously.
Huo Nanyun's gaze rested on the empty battle platform. "Just believe in her."
Just then, a voice came from behind them: "Are you Liu Yi's friends too?"
They turned to see a girl smiling at them, holding an elegant Phantom Cat in her arms.
Next to the girl sat a tall woman.
Qi Zimeng: "Yes, are you too?"
"That's right! My name is Baili Jinxuan, and I'm also Liu Yi's friend."
Baili Jinxuan happily leaned closer. "Your support signs are so cute! Can I have one?"
