Turn into reality once more?
Did that mean... they had to kiss again?
Zhang Mingyuan's mind buzzed, instantly going completely blank.
He felt that Su Jinxue had definitely gone mad.
No, she was completely unhinged!
This crazy woman's brain had completely fried just because he had threatened her with the Projection Stone!
“Y-y-you... stay back!”
Looking at her eyes that glowed with a dangerous red light, Zhang Mingyuan was so frightened that his tongue felt tied. He yelled with false bravado, “I'm warning you, don't do anything reckless! I won't take responsibility afterward!”
Won't take responsibility?
Hearing those three words, the last trace of feigned calmness on Su Jinxue's cold, exquisite face instantly shattered.
This bastard!
Not long ago, he had taken advantage of her lack of preparation to steal her first kiss!
And now, he actually dared to say something like “won't take responsibility”?!
Slap!
A crisp slap echoed through the empty hall.
Zhang Mingyuan was completely dazed by the slap.
Cupping his burning left cheek, he stared at the woman in front of him in disbelief.
What was going on?
Just a moment ago, this woman had bedroom eyes, leaning in close to his ear to talk about “turning it into reality.” How did she flip her attitude in the next second and slap him?
Come on, even for a Red Dust Immortal, being temperamental shouldn't be taken to this extreme, right?
A surge of unprecedented rage rushed from the bottom of Zhang Mingyuan's heart straight to his skull.
He was truly furious!
He was the grand Sacred Lord of Qingyun Heaven, a peak Mahayana Stage powerhouse! Wherever he went, people would flock to fawn over him. When had he ever suffered such humiliation?
Did she really think he was a soft pushover she could squeeze at will?
“Su Jinxue, I am not someone you can just push around!”
Zhang Mingyuan growled, his accumulated frustration and current anger exploding completely.
He suddenly reached out his arms and pulled the woman in front of him into a tight embrace.
Before Su Jinxue could react, she felt her waist locked in his arms, and her entire body was pulled forward.
In the next instant, Zhang Mingyuan pressed his hand against the back of her head, giving her absolutely no chance to react!
He kissed those red lips—the very ones that had just uttered such cold words—with sheer force!
“Mmph—!”
Su Jinxue's eyes instantly widened, filled with shock and bewilderment.
It was overbearing, rough, and unreasonable.
There was not a single trace of gentleness, only pure aggression and possessiveness.
As their lips and teeth intertwined, a familiar yet foreign sensation instantly swept through their limbs and bones. Their heartbeats in the dead silent hall sounded like war drums, frantically spinning out of control.
At this moment, both of their minds went completely blank.
After a long while.
So long that Zhang Mingyuan thought the world was about to end, before he finally let go of Su Jinxue.
He panted heavily, his chest heaving as he glared at the woman in his arms, whose face was equally flushed and whose eyes were dazed.
He was just that overbearing!
This was him, Zhang Mingyuan, the grand Sacred Lord of Qingyun Heaven!
He wanted this smelly woman to know that even if she was a high and mighty Red Dust Immortal and he was just an ant in her eyes, he was absolutely not to be trifled with!
He had kissed her. For the second time.
Zhang Mingyuan had already prepared himself to die.
At worst, he would be run through by this crazy woman's sword.
He was ready to face Su Jinxue's thunderous wrath.
However, what happened next was completely beyond his expectations.
Su Jinxue merely looked at him quietly. The daze in her crimson eyes gradually faded, returning to clarity, but there was not the slightest hint of killing intent or anger. Instead, they held a trace of... probing?
“Have you wanted to do this for a very long time?”
Her voice was very soft, carrying a hint of hoarseness from having just been kissed. There was no cursing, no beating, and not even a ripple of spiritual energy.
Zhang Mingyuan felt his brain was completely fried.
He even subconsciously swept out a thread of divine sense, wanting to see if the Su Jinxue before him had been possessed by some evil spirit.
“What... do you mean by that?” Zhang Mingyuan asked warily.
“Answer me.” Su Jinxue's gaze locked tightly onto him. “Ever since we first met, you've wanted to do this, haven't you?”
Zhang Mingyuan furrowed his brows.
No, what on earth is she talking about?
“No!” He denied it without a second thought.
“No?” Su Jinxue sneered, her gaze seemingly able to pierce through everything. “Then why have you always opposed me??”
She began to list Zhang Mingyuan's “crimes.”
“During the Golden Core Stage, at the Dao Discussion Assembly of the younger generation, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, you insulted me and my sword dao in front of all the cultivators under heaven!”
“During the Nascent Soul Stage, I fought a Nascent Soul demon beast for three days and three nights for a Soul-Returning Grass. Just as I was about to succeed, you suddenly popped out, snatched the grass away with a broken sword, and sanctimoniously claimed that ‘it belongs to the destined one’!”
“During the Soul Formation Stage, you snuck into my Myriad Snow Palace, swapped all the Dragon-Scale Koi I had raised in the Ice Soul Cold Pond for eight hundred years with common grass carp, and even carved ‘Zhang Mingyuan was here’ on the stone monument outside my hall gates!”
“The Body Integration Stage, the Mahayana Stage... over these five thousand years, have you done any fewer absurd things?”
The more Su Jinxue spoke, the brighter her eyes became, as if she had found the answer to all her questions.
“You make yourself my enemy at every turn, opposing me in everything, just to attract my attention. And you still claim you didn't plan this all along!”
Zhang Mingyuan felt entirely numb hearing this accusation that completely turned black into white.
He had seen shameless people, but never someone who could convince themselves like this!
I stole your spiritual grass back then because I couldn't stand the sight of you!
I said your cultivation method was flawed because I didn't want to see your cultivation go awry!
I swapped your fish and carved your monument purely to annoy you and make you angry!
How did it become a calculated plot to attract her attention when it came out of her mouth?
This woman's train of thought was so bizarre it could wrap around the Xuanling Realm three times!
“I really didn't!”
Looking at Su Jinxue's absolute certainty that she had “seen through everything,” Zhang Mingyuan felt utterly drained. In the end, he simply gave up explaining and waved his hand.
“Fine, whatever you say.”
“So, you admit it?”
Su Jinxue took a step closer, a dangerous light flashing in her eyes. “You want to become my Dao companion?”
Zhang Mingyuan's heart skipped a beat, but...
He wanted to see what kind of tricks Su Jinxue was up to this time.
He simply decided to go all out. He stiffened his neck, wearing an expression of “you've seen through me, I won't hide it anymore.”
“Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely right. I've lusted after your body since the first time I saw you. I miss you so much I can't sleep at night, and I dream of becoming your Dao companion. Happy now?”
He thought these shameless words would infuriate Su Jinxue.
Who would have thought that upon hearing this, a faint yet breathtaking smile would actually blossom on Su Jinxue's face?
“Very well.”
Her red lips parted slightly, uttering a single word that scared the living daylights out of Zhang Mingyuan.
“Since your mind is made up, this Seat shall fulfill your wish.”
Su Jinxue raised her snow-white chin and said, word by word, in a declaring tone, “On an auspicious day, we shall announce it to the world, perform the Heavenly Marriage, and officially become Dao companions.”
The moment she said this, the smile on Zhang Mingyuan's face froze, and he felt as if he had been struck by lightning.
H-Heavenly Marriage?
Dao companions???
