Chapter 101 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

Inside the Undead Kingdom, Chen Xu ascended the Overlord's Castle once again.

Since reaching the mythic-tier, the Overlord's Castle had grown several times larger. Standing on the castle walls now, he could see much further and observe even more undead soldiers.

It was a pity that most of his forces had already been dispatched to clear dungeons. Otherwise, the sight of hundreds of millions of soldiers assembled in formation would have been truly spectacular.

Chen Xu first issued a command for all undead creatures within the Undead Kingdom to gather before the castle.

Then, he began summoning Black Knights.

With a single thought, he separated three strands of his soul, each the size of a hair, and transformed them into Black Knights under his control.

Unlike before, where the transformation process for summoning a Black Knight took about ten seconds, it now happened instantly for him as a mythic-tier powerhouse.

Three brand-new Black Knights knelt on one knee, paying their respects to Chen Xu.

"Respected Lord of the Undead, your most loyal servants are at your service!"

"Good. Following the order of seniority, you two shall be called Xuan Shu and Xuan Ji. As for the remaining one, let me think."

Chen Xu's difficulty with naming flared up again. Although he could simply use numbers, he really didn't want to give generic names to the Black Knights, who were the core combat strength of the Lord of the Undead's system.

"Since the first sequence is finished, let's move to the next. Your name shall be Xuan Tian."

"Thank you for the name, my Lord!"

After summoning the Black Knights, Chen Xu returned to Blue Star. He first placed the Black Knights into the remaining two dungeons, engaging in a four-front operation.

Xuan Shu led an army of Skeleton Mages to conquer the third dungeon.

Xuan Ji and Xuan Tian led a mixed high-tier force of Necrotic Knights, abominations, and ghosts to clear the final dungeon.

With this, all four dungeons were being cleared simultaneously. It was a highly efficient four-front operation.

After making the arrangements, Chen Xu returned to the Undead Kingdom to handle the backlog of summoning skill enhancements.

First was 【Raise Skeleton】. This initial Necromancer skill had reached level 100 under the influence of Chen Xu's talent and the support of over a hundred million skeleton soldiers, and it had stopped rising.

【Raise Skeleton (Level 100): Summons a skeleton. If a corpse is consumed for the summon, additional bonuses are granted based on the quality of the corpse. Current enhancements: Cold Enhancement, Aura of Cold, Special Curse. (Total skeleton soldiers: 100 million+)】

At first, Chen Xu thought it was just taking longer to reach level 101 because of the massive experience required.

It wasn't until he was bored during the barbecue party in Yinglun and checked his status panel that he realized he had reached the skill limit. Beyond this point lay the domain of the Dao.

【Detected that the Destiny Seeker possesses a level 100 skill. The Heavenly Dao provides the following special explanation: Level 100 is the limit for a skill, but not the limit for a professional. Beyond that lies the domain of the 'Dao'. The Dao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Dao. The domain of the Dao must be explored by the professional themselves.】

In addition to the special explanation, the World Will also included a special prompt.

【Special Prompt: In truth, a level 100 skill is already a skill approaching the Dao. Those who can enter the domain of the Dao are a tiny minority even among the myriad worlds. As a professional holding a level 100 skill, you can be considered a top-tier powerhouse above all others, second only to the Dao itself.】

After reading the special prompt, Chen Xu nearly spat out the grilled meat in his mouth. He hadn't expected the temperamental World Will to issue a special prompt just to comfort someone.

Was it really that hard to break through from a skill to a Dao?

As a candidate for the Lord of the Undead, Chen Xu didn't have such worries at all.

As long as he eliminated the other competitors, he could ascend that supreme throne and become an eternal-tier powerhouse. And an eternal-tier powerhouse was also honored as a Dao Lord.

Therefore, the matter of the Dao didn't concern Chen Xu much for now. He focused on applying the enhancements for 【Raise Skeleton】 and summoning the remaining four skeleton heroes.

【Raise Skeleton】 had gained four additional sub-skills at levels 70, 80, 90, and 100: Zeal, Blood-Soaked Bone Spikes, Shield-Shattering Bash, and Indestructible Bone.

Zeal was a rapid continuous attack technique that allowed skeleton soldiers to strike several times in a short burst, leaving only afterimages of their blades.

Blood-Soaked Bone Spikes was a sneak-attack skill that could generate a sharp bone spike from any part of the body to pierce an enemy.

Shield-Shattering Bash added a shattering effect to the existing Shield Bash. The bone fragments flying from a shattered shield could easily tear through heavy armor. It was said that the Armor Burst state of the Bone Kun was inspired by this.

And Indestructible Bone was a passive skill with an effect that left Chen Xu truly shocked.

【Indestructible Bone: The skeleton soldiers have reached their limit and now possess a weakened version of mythic immortality. Their bone strength has been significantly increased, and they have a very high immunity to damage below the mythic-tier. (The Land of the Undead is full of skeleton soldiers, but for them to grow to this extent is simply beyond the common sense of this world.)】

Of course, what surprised Chen Xu the most was his talent's special enhancement of the skeleton soldiers.

After all the enhancements were applied, the skeleton soldiers transformed from having only their hands and left legs crystalized to having their entire bodies crystalized.

With deep blue, transparent crystal bodies and perfectly elegant curves, the skeleton soldiers no longer looked like undead creatures, but like works of art.

Yet beneath that beautiful exterior was an extremely concentrated and terrifying power of ultimate cold.

【Raise Skeleton has reached level 100. The 996 talent has been triggered, granting the effect: Permanent Contract (Your hard work has been recognized by everyone in the company. The Board of Directors has decided that you are the employee of the year!). The power of cold has been enhanced to its limit, granting the passive skill—Ultimate Cold Power.】

【Ultimate Cold Power: Ice! Cold! Frozen! Chill! The Path of Ice begins here! (You have mastered a high-quality elemental power and now possess the key to the domain of the Dao.)】

This was the first time Chen Xu had seen such a strange skill description, so he decided to test its power using an old method.

The great art of skeleton self-detonation.

He commanded a skeleton soldier to walk far away from the group and then detonate on the spot.

Instantly, a magnificent Ice Ring rapidly expanded from the skeleton's remains. Ice pillars sprouted wherever the Ice Ring passed. Most terrifyingly, the Ice Ring covered a radius of one kilometer in just a single second.

Chen Xu nodded, very satisfied with the power of the Ice Ring.

"With such a massive range, not many people should be able to escape if caught off guard."

Just as Chen Xu was about to look away and prepare to summon the skeleton heroes, the ice pillars formed by the Ice Ring began to melt into water and flow toward the center.
