Chapter 221 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

The power of authority nudged the rules of the Land of the Undead. The power of creation flowed continuously through the connection passage, surging from the Land of the Undead into the Undead Divine Court.

Unlike the ghouls in the previous experiment, the moon's size was far too massive. The power of the creation authority could not penetrate it instantly; it had to seep in gradually, bit by bit, from the outside in.

The power of creation began to gather at the base of the moon, slowly spreading upward. The process was somewhat reminiscent of a lunar eclipse.

Only when the power of creation completely enveloped the moon could Chen Xu exercise his imagination to perform a special modification on this celestial body, unique to the world of the undead.

During this time, Chen Xu was also formulating a plan.

Originally, the Land of the Undead had no celestial stars—no moon, no sun, and certainly no Big Dipper. Nothing of the sort existed.

In this ancient and unique world, the sky was forever a leaden gray. The only light came from the drifting soul fires.

The starry sky—such a vast piece of uncultivated wasteland—was something Chen Xu intended to claim.

Throughout history, many generations of the Lord of the Undead had left too many marks of their rule upon the soil of the Land of the Undead.

There were all sorts of peculiar undead creatures, such as the Kunpeng's race, the Bone Kun. There was the miraculous Ghost Factory and various other miscellaneous things.

The earth had already been filled with the achievements of his predecessors. If a newcomer wanted to make an impact, they had to find a new path.

The starry sky was the new direction Chen Xu had chosen.

This vast, pure land had not been touched by a single stroke of color; it was one of the few original, pristine zones left in the Land of the Undead.

The sun and moon, the Big Dipper, the Southern Dipper, the Five Virtues, and the Twenty-Eight Mansions—Chen Xu wanted to fill the sky of the Land of the Undead and establish a Star Lord system.

Star Lords of all kinds would sit high in the deep void, patrolling the myriad worlds on behalf of the Lord of the Undead and suppressing any minor threats.

This Star Lord Project would begin with the moon.

The moon, the Lunar Star Lord, and Taiyin power—these perfectly matched the Yin-attribute of the undead.

Since this was to be the first Star Lord of the undead Star Lord system, Chen Xu decided to stack the odds—to stack them heavily.

The moon from the world of the Immortal Island alone had too shallow a foundation. How could it be worthy of the status of the first Star Lord of the Undead Divine Court?

Thus, Chen Xu sent a message to Xuan Chu, telling him to find Big Boss and bring him to the Undead Divine Court.

It wasn't long before Xuan Chu arrived at the Undead Divine Court with Big Boss. This was the second guest the Undead Divine Court had ever welcomed.

“My Lord, you were looking for me?”

“Yes. Big Boss, does the Wanbao Pavilion have any treasures related to the moon or the Yin-attribute in its inventory?”

“The moon and the Yin-attribute? Let me see.”

Big Boss pulled a scroll from his robes. This scroll recorded the more specialized merchandise of the Wanbao Pavilion. As a merchant spanning the myriad worlds, the Wanbao Pavilion's goods numbered in the hundreds of millions. Even with transcendent power, Big Boss couldn't memorize it all.

After a few operations on the scroll, Big Boss retrieved several items that met Chen Xu's requirements.

“My Lord, there are ten items related to the moon: six transcendent-tier, two epic-tier, one legendary-tier, and one mythic-tier.

“There are significantly more items related to the Yin-attribute. At the transcendent-tier alone, there are over a hundred; fifty-three at the epic-tier, six at the legendary-tier, and two at the mythic-tier.

“Should I bring them all for you to see, My Lord?” Big Boss looked at Chen Xu and asked in a low voice.

“Are there really so few items related to the moon? Most of the myriad worlds should have a moon, right?

“Forget it. Bring them all for me to look at first.”

“Yes, My Lord.”

Big Boss then left the Undead Divine Court, returning to the City of Miracles via the teleportation array to fetch the items Chen Xu required.

“ROAR!!!!! ROAR!!!”

Suddenly, two powerful roars echoed throughout the Undead Divine Court, brimming with raw wildness and dominance.

Chen Xu looked toward the source and saw that the commotion was coming from the Giant Valley. This special region had been unlocked for quite some time, but the two Behemoth corpses buried within had never finished transforming.

Unexpectedly, they had both successfully transformed today.

After their roars, the two Behemoths immediately began sprinting through the Undead Divine Court. They moved with incredible speed, and combined with their ten-meter-tall frames, they caused a massive disturbance.

It seemed that because they had slept for too long, these two Behemoths were bursting with energy, leaping and bounding all over the Undead Divine Court.

First, they charged into the Bone Thicket, using brute force to ram everything in sight, climbing trees and pouncing on skeleton soldiers.

After the skeleton brothers launched a collective counterattack and chased them out of the thicket, the two Behemoths charged to the edge of the Wailing Lake, roaring at the ghosts in the sky and the water.

However, these two Behemoths were only epic-tier. Facing swarms of ghosts, they were quickly defeated.

Even after leaving the lake, they remained restless. The two troublemakers actually set their sights on the towering Whispering Tree. They charged to its base, raising their massive claws to strike the trunk.

A hook flew from behind, binding the two troublemakers tightly.

“Children... must... respect... the teacher!”

Patchwerk's muffled voice came from behind. Today happened to be his turn to teach. Already feeling lightheaded from the lesson, he had perked up after being interrupted by these two Behemoths.

With a slight tug of his right hand, Patchwerk pulled the two Behemoths to his side and pinned them down firmly.

The two Behemoths continued to struggle, but the moment they looked up and saw Chen Xu, their eyes met his. The pressure from the root of their souls caused them to wither instantly.

“Whimper...”

After letting out a weak whine, they lay flat on the ground and stopped moving.

Chen Xu probed the two Behemoths with his mental strength and found that compared to other undead creatures, their souls were more active—even more active than the ghosts.

The form of the undead allowed these resurrected creatures to possess souls more vibrant than ordinary undead, which was why the Behemoths were so hyperactive.

However, the Behemoths were only epic-tier. After all this time, only two epic-tier creatures had transformed; Chen Xu wasn't very satisfied.

“I need to find a way to accelerate the transformation speed.”

The power of creation was a miraculous force that could turn the mundane into the extraordinary and the static into the dynamic.

Even a handful of dirt or a fallen leaf could gain life under the influence of the power of creation.

If a dead region had no soul and could not be communicated with, then he would make the region come alive, grant it a soul, and unleash its subjective initiative.

But performing spirit ignition on such a vast expanse of dead matter would require a great deal of effort.

As Chen Xu pondered, he reached out to stroke the Behemoths' fur, only to find that the soft-looking gray-white fur felt as hard as metal to the touch.

This hardened fur reminded Chen Xu of the dragon vassals in the Dragon Court. The kobolds who had undergone dragon blood baptism also had fur that changed from soft to hard.
