Chapter 59 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

【Dungeon Exploration Progress: 30%】

【Dungeon exploration has reached the third stage. Unlocking primary transcendent information: God's Creations. Beneath the yellow sand exist countless sandworms. But can this barren land truly nurture so many insects? Perhaps the broken tomb beneath the desert can provide the answer.】

"God's Creations?"

This third-stage dungeon hint came as a surprise to Chen Xu.

As everyone knew, anything related to gods was a good thing.

Gods and dragons shared many commonalities in this regard.

Divine blood, divinity, and divine power crystals; their entire bodies were treasures.

The tombs built for them by their divine kingdoms or followers were even more filled with countless treasures.

If there was a difference, it was that the strength of a god far exceeded that of a dragon.

Consequently, there were many dragonslayers in the world, but godslayers were rare.

"Commander Wu!" Chen Xu called out to Wu Houde ahead of him.

"You saw the dungeon hint too, right?"

"Yeah." Wu Houde's already wide grin stretched even further.

"God's Creations and a tomb. Brother Chen Xu, we're going to hit the jackpot this time."

A dungeon involving a god had a high probability of producing related items as the final reward. At the very least, it would be legendary-tier.

"Then Commander Wu, does your warband have anyone skilled in grave robbing? Or perhaps underground exploration? I can handle the fighting, but I don't have much experience in exploration. Moreover, the sand down here has a strong repulsion toward mental strength, making it impossible to scout."

Compared to the potential dangers within a suspected divine tomb, Chen Xu was more worried about not being able to find it.

In a vast, boundless desert, finding a tomb buried under the sand was no easy task. Even if millions of skeleton soldiers dug bit by bit, there was no telling how long it would take.

"Don't you worry, Brother Chen. The other vice commander of our Hurricane Warband is a Feng Shui Master, and an epic-tier one at that! With him here, there won't be any problems.

I already arranged for someone to notify him to enter the moment I saw the dungeon hint."

"A Feng Shui Master? Can they even read the tombs of foreign gods?"

"Hehe, so-called feng shui looks at the pulse of heaven and earth and the rotation of the universe. It isn't just limited to Daxia. As long as there is a sky and ground, it can be read."

Wu Houde patted his chest in guarantee, showing immense trust in that vice commander.

"Then Commander Wu, let's speed up the clearing of the sandworms. Perhaps that tomb is the final objective. Maybe the fourth-stage dungeon hint will give us more information."

"No problem."

Upon receiving Wu Houde's reply, Chen Xu signaled Bone Guard One and the others to exert their full power.

With Vanguard's Courage activated, the war robe behind Bone Guard One billowed without any wind. The power of the aura spread through the robe to all the skeleton soldiers, directly breaking the skill's limits.

The war robe was a symbol of authority bestowed by the Lord of the Undead. Being the first great general was not just a title; it represented the honor of sharing that authority.

Through this authority, Bone Guard One could apply the aura's power to every single skeleton soldier.

The skeleton army, bolstered by the aura, advanced with even greater speed.

The unstoppable effect also rendered the sandworms' dragging useless. Their mouthparts could only bite onto the skeletons' bones without being able to pull them down. Instead, they were dragged along the ground in a frantic dash.

Some unlucky ones were even treated as prey and bitten or torn apart by other insects pouncing from the sand.

"Wuuu~~~"

The other bone dragons were summoned once more.

Since the skeleton soldiers were moving faster and faster, the Skeleton Archers and Skeleton Mages at the back could no longer keep up.

Chen Xu planned to bring them onto the bone dragons to provide long-range fire from the air.

"Wuu, roar!"

The Undead Bone Dragons were still somewhat repelled by low-level creatures like Skeleton Archers and Skeleton Mages. They shook their bodies left and right, trying to throw off the skeletons Chen Xu had teleported onto them.

In the Land of the Undead, these were things they used as chew toys, and now they were being ridden by them.

"Behave!" Chen Xu barked a stern reprimand.

"Roar!"

Sindragosa also roared at its kin.

Under the double intimidation, the bone dragons reluctantly accepted the arrangement.

Soon, the eight bone dragons were fully loaded. Under Chen Xu's command, they flew swiftly to catch up with Bone Guard One.

"Commander Wu, I'll head on first!"

Chen Xu patted Sindragosa's head and followed after them.

Watching the charging skeleton army and the rapidly departing Chen Xu, Wu Houde shouted toward the sky, "Brother Chen, wait for me! How about taking me along too? I can even sit on a bone dragon's claw!"

Unfortunately, Sindragosa's flight speed was too fast. In the blink of an eye, it vanished from Wu Houde's vision.

"Did Commander Wu say something?" Chen Xu looked back, feeling like he had faintly heard Wu Houde's voice.

"Wuu~~"

Sindragosa shook its head, indicating it hadn't heard anything and that Chen Xu must have misheard.

"Maybe. Forget it, never mind. Sindragosa, full speed ahead. It looks like Bone Guard One has run into something interesting."

At Chen Xu's command, Sindragosa increased the speed of its wingbeats and headed toward Bone Guard One.

Soon, he saw Bone Guard One wrestling with a massive insect.

That long worm looked completely different from the other sandworms. Its slender body measured a full twenty meters long just for the part exposed above the sand. Its sides were lined with insect legs covered in barbs. Its entire body was yellow-gray, blending perfectly with the desert.

The most prominent feature was the giant mouthparts on its head, consisting of a pair of serrated mandibles over three meters long. At that moment, it was tightly biting Bone Guard One's shield.

Its slender body was coiled several times, binding Bone Guard One firmly. Hundreds of insect legs were continuously striking Bone Guard One.

"Sindragosa, fly down, grab that insect, and pull it out."

Sindragosa dove down, its four sharp dragon claws sinking deep into the long worm's body, causing a significant amount of fluid to splash out.

"Screech!"

The long worm let out a sharp cry and began to loosen its mandibles and legs from Bone Guard One, wanting to retreat back underground.

But Sindragosa had already flapped its wings to fly upward.

"Wuu~~"

However, the situation exceeded Chen Xu's expectations. Even as Sindragosa flapped its wings with all its might, it failed to pull the long worm out of the ground.

"Bone Guard One, you help pull it out too."

Upon hearing the order, Bone Guard One put away his shield and bone blade, grabbed the long worm's legs near the ground with both hands, and began to pull upward.

Only with their combined strength were they barely able to pull the long worm out bit by bit.

Yet there was no telling how long this insect was. After pulling for a while, they had only extracted half a meter. Dragging it out like this would take forever.

Just then, a spear flew from a distance, accurately piercing through the long worm's head. Instantly, the long worm lost its ability to resist and stopped struggling.

Sindragosa also surged upward, continuously pulling out the parts hidden beneath the sand.

"Haha, Bone Guard Two, I should have brought you along on Sindragosa. With your ability, dealing with these enemies is much more convenient."

Sindragosa continued to fly up, ascending a full hundred meters before the insect was completely extracted.

At the end of that slender insect body was a large mass of bloated flesh covered in holes, from which tiny sandworms were continuously crawling out.

"It seems this is the queen worm."

Seeing that tail-end flesh mass that resembled a reproductive organ, Chen Xu confirmed that this was the target he was looking for, a sandworm queen worm.

Just as Chen Xu was thinking about how to deal with such a massive queen worm, the queen worm, now entirely exposed to the air after leaving the desert, began to undergo sandification from its tail.

The hundred-meter-long body of flesh and blood turned into sand and scattered into the air in an instant.

【Killed a yellow sand queen worm, gained 50,000 experience points. Obtained a Sand Crystal.】

"It just died like that?"

Chen Xu opened his panel, wanting to confirm if this sandification was an escape skill of the queen worm or if it truly died upon leaving the desert.

The result was that the panel indeed showed a kill notification.

"A God's Creation that cannot leave the desert. Is it a restriction left by the god? Or perhaps as the guardian of the god's tomb, it was placed under a curse that prevents it from leaving the desert."

With no other information, Chen Xu could only speculate.

Killing one queen worm had given a full 5% of dungeon progress. Combined with the contribution from other sandworms, the dungeon progress had now reached 38%.
