Chapter 82 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

The next day.

Chen Xu arrived at the Heavenly Crafts Academy, took out his smart terminal, and sent a message to Xia Deliang.

After a short while, Xia Deliang flew up to Chen Xu while piloting a robot.

"Whoa! Elder Xia, you actually have something this cool? How much is it? Can you get me one too?"

"This thing's flight duration at full speed is less than half an hour. It is completely useless for travel. Why would you want one?"

Xia Deliang did not understand why Chen Xu was so excited. This type of engineering robot was specifically designed to assist researchers with heavy physical labor.

"Huh? Only that long? Why doesn't Heavenly Crafts Academy upgrade it?"

Hearing that the robot's battery life was so short, Chen Xu's interest instantly vanished.

"Upgrade what? It is an engineering robot. We have planes and other aircraft for long-distance transport. Why waste time on that? The task list for Heavenly Crafts Academy is booked until next year. Who has the time?"

"Anyway, a new task has been cut in line for you kid. We are installing equipment on your summoned creatures."

After saying that, he told Chen Xu to climb onto the robot's head. There was another seat behind Xia Deliang.

With a few leaps, Chen Xu reached the seat.

"Elder Xia, you are wrong about that. It was not me cutting in line. If anyone did, it was Daxia. I am just the laborer."

Xia Deliang ignored him and focused on controlling the robot, flying toward a newly constructed site.

Soon, they arrived at an open area featuring a massive pool. It was five hundred meters long and wide, capable of holding several Bone Kuns.

"Bring your Kun to the pool. We spent all night digging it. Several drill bits were even glowing red from the friction."

Chen Xu jumped off the robot and walked to the edge of the pool. With a wave of his hand, he summoned Kunpeng and another Bone Kun.

In the time it took for a night to pass, another Bone Kun had been generated in the Inverted Sea. The speed was much faster than when Kunpeng was created.

However, Chen Xu felt that this second Bone Kun was not as spiritual as Kunpeng. It seemed a bit dull. Although Kunpeng was not exactly brilliant, it was at least lively.

"Only two? But they are truly massive. They must be over a hundred meters long."

"Currently, there are only two. The others are still being generated. I estimate there will be five in total eventually."

Based on the fish corpses consumed in the Inverted Sea, Chen Xu estimated that three more Bone Kuns could be generated, making a total of five.

"Alright, I will have my people start the installation. Remember to control them and do not let them move around. My people cannot handle a creature of that size."

"Elder Xia, you can rest assured. These are undead creatures. What is the most important thing for the undead? Loyalty! I could make them float belly-up if I wanted to." Chen Xu patted his chest and gave Xia Deliang his guarantee.

"There is no need for them to go belly-up. Just keep them steady without any big movements."

"No problem. By the way, Elder Xia, how long will the installation take?"

"A conservative estimate is one day." Xia Deliang held up one finger.

"Huh? That long? It went quite fast at the Linghai Academy research institute."

"Nonsense. How much equipment did they have there? Do you know how many modules are in this set? There are fifty modules just for defense and energy alone. It is not on the same level as the equipment in Linghai."

"Fine. Elder Xia, is there a place to rest here? I cannot just stand here and watch you work. I would not understand it anyway."

"Yes, I have already arranged everything. Since you were warned by Fuxi yesterday for flying a fighter jet without a license, I have set up a crash course for you. If you learn quickly, you can take the exam directly."

"If you pass, go to the hangar and take a look. If you see one you like, you can just fly it away."

Hearing this, Chen Xu beamed with joy and quickly leaned toward Xia Deliang. "Elder Xia, you really think of everything. You truly are a master craftsman of the Heavenly Crafts Academy. You are so thoughtful."

Xia Deliang slapped Chen Xu's hand away and glared at him. "Stop being so cheeky."

Then, he called over a nearby researcher. "Xiao Zhou, take him to Sector B to find Old Fu. I already made the arrangements yesterday. Just lead him there."

"Yes, Manager Xia."

Under Xiao Zhou's guidance, Chen Xu arrived at the training room and met Fu Baichuan.

Fu Baichuan was a professional pilot who specialized in conducting various flight tests for the Heavenly Crafts Academy.

Under his arrangement, Chen Xu first quickly went through the C-type fighter jet operation manual and the response guides for various emergencies.

After that, he moved on to simulator operations.

During this period, Chen Xu left three times to return to the pool and release the newly generated Bone Kuns so Xia Deliang and the others could install the facilities.

...

Another day passed.

"You got your pilot's license that quickly? You did not bribe Old Fu, did you?"

Seeing Chen Xu jump down from the fighter jet with his hands in his pockets and a smug look on his face, Xia Qiming teased him.

"Elder Xia, what kind of words are those? I, Chen Xu, am a genius. Piloting a fighter jet is child's play for me."

"Heh, alright then, genius." Xia Deliang shook his head helplessly. "As it happens, I have finished my work here. Next, we will send them into the ocean."

"By the way, since there are exactly five of them, I added a temporary array module based on the Five Elements to form a Five Elements Array. If they encounter something they cannot beat, they can group together to activate the array."

"That works. I will have them act together then. There is no time limit anyway."

With a wave of his hand, Chen Xu withdrew Kunpeng and the others into the Undead Kingdom. He then boarded the fighter jet, waved goodbye to Xia Deliang, started the engine, and flew toward Linghai.

Soon, Chen Xu arrived at Linghai. Instead of landing, the jet continued flying toward the coast.

Once over the sea, Chen Xu turned the nose of the plane and dropped Kunpeng and the other four Bone Kuns into the water.

"Kunpeng, the device on your head will point out the location of the divine sacrificial vessels—the tasty things you ate the day before yesterday. Follow the coastline and eat them all."

After hearing Chen Xu's command, Kunpeng was overjoyed and wagged its tail wildly. The movement was so large that it nearly swatted another Bone Kun away.

Following Chen Xu's prompt, Kunpeng activated the positioning device and led its four subordinates toward the coordinates. They swam with incredible speed.

They charged ahead recklessly. Many unfortunate local fish along the path could not dodge in time and were violently sent flying.

The lucky ones were merely flipped belly-up and fell into a stupor. As for those who were more unfortunate, they went bang and turned into a mess of mush, drifting in the water and adding a different kind of decoration to the sea.

After releasing the Bone Kuns into the sea, Chen Xu rushed toward Xinwang City.

This morning, Qi Xuanheng had sent him a message saying that Xinwang City was completed and the opening ceremony would be held tomorrow, asking if he was free to attend.

Chen Xu replied immediately, stating that he was very much available.

As he piloted the fighter jet over Xinwang City, he noticed that the statues of Ye Bufan, Xiang Longwu, and himself were covered by a massive red cloth.

Furthermore, there were already many people in the city. It seemed they were the citizens of Mohai City who had been relocated during the Mohai Dragonslayer Incident.

After finding the airport markings on the ground and landing the jet, Chen Xu summoned Invincible and rode the horse toward the Dungeon Hall in the city center.
