“Hmm~ hmm~~”
The young girl was busy in the inn's kitchen. A pot bubbled with food, golden shrimp sizzled in a frying pan, and the room was filled with the aroma of wheat, rice, and stewed meat.
Twenty minutes later, she plated everything and carried the food to the bedroom. Pushing the door open, she saw a dark-blue-haired girl sitting on the bed.
She was sitting in a classic “duck sit” position.
Her short skirt paired with warm tights, and the graceful curves of her slender waist were a feast for the eyes. Her naturally beautiful face looked as delicate as porcelain, yet a faint sadness lingered between her brows. A few stray strands of hair fell by her ears, and her deep, gloomy, slitted eyes lifted slightly. The corners of her mouth curled up, but like a beginner learning how to smile, the expression was somewhat stiff.
“Little... Ya,” the girl said, uttering her name.
“Sister Tina, look at what delicious food I made today~”
She was Tina.
If one ignored the two spiraled horns atop her head and the eerie scales on the side of her face, she was simply a lovely, beautiful girl. However, these features, which only belonged to magical beasts, added a touch of eerie allure to her.
“Let me help you, Sister Tina.” Setting down the food, Sathya stepped forward.
But Tina shook her head.
As if to prove something, she placed her small feet, wrapped in black tights, onto the cold floor. She stumbled slowly toward the dining table in the bedroom, but ended up falling into Sathya's arms, burying her face in Sathya's soft chest.
Tina blushed, thoroughly enjoying the sensation.
“I told you, Sister Tina, you still can't walk yet.”
“Mgh.”
“Sister Tina, come see what you want to eat.”
A week had passed since that day—the day Sister Tina turned into a magical beast.
A lot of things had happened during those few days.
To put it simply, Tina was on the verge of turning into a magical beast, but for some reason, the process had slowed down.
Her body had been modified by Sathya, who was also a magical beast, and Sathya had managed to soothe her during the transformation process.
Sathya had become the savior of her soul.
Perhaps because of this, she did not continue to transform completely into a magical beast, retaining a part of her humanity.
That agonizing, heart-wrenching pain had not resurfaced. Although her condition was not yet stable, she retained her human consciousness and harbored no extreme rage or desires to destroy humanity.
Sathya firmly believed that if she hadn't stopped it that day, humanity would have faced total annihilation.
Tina's transformation surpassed any magical beast in history; even releasing a tiny fraction of the power of chaos inside her body could easily destroy a town.
...And currently, Tina was in a weakened state.
She couldn't stand, couldn't speak clearly, stuttered a little, and her thoughts were somewhat sluggish.
Her body was very weak, requiring fourteen hours or more of sleep every day.
They were not at the Holy Academy right now, but living in a town in a remote region.
This was the decision they made after walking out of the White Dusk Forest that day. Sathya had carried her on her back, walking on and on...
Just like before.
But this time, there was no coffin. In the beginning, Tina cried constantly, her tears soaking Sathya's shoulder like rain.
Sathya had to say a great deal to finally soothe her.
To avoid exposing her identity as a magical beast, they did not return to the Holy Academy.
Everyone knew that a magical beast had awakened in the White Dusk Forest, killing two Cardinals and even leaving the Sword God heavily wounded.
Fewer than a few hundred members of the entire knight order survived. For the Church, this was an extremely devastating loss.
From the rumors of villagers and townspeople, they learned that the Church was currently focusing its efforts on searching for the beast, preparing a massive army to subjugate it.
The situation was far more dangerous than imagined.
It would take time for Tina to recover, and during this period, Sathya would protect her no matter what.
At that thought, Sathya smiled and brought a spoon to her lips.
“Ah, mgh.”
Tina opened her mouth. A spoonful of rice coated in rich curry melted on her tongue, the thick sauce bringing layers of spices and savory meat flavor.
“How is it?”
“I can... taste... it.” Tina tried to smile. Although she succeeded, it was so stiff that it made Sathya giggle.
“That's wonderful! Have you finally regained your sense of taste? Still, Sister Tina~ you seem a bit dazed.”
Tina puffed out her cheeks. Of course she understood what Little Ya was saying.
But then, Sathya leaned in close and sniffed her.
Though a look of bliss washed over her face, Sathya still asked seriously, “Has it really returned? You aren't lying to me this time, are you, Sister Tina?”
“No.”
As if remembering something, Tina opened her mouth, revealing a row of sharp yet cute teeth. She desperately tried to squeeze something out of her throat, finally saying, “Really... no...”
But it was already too late. Sathya had already moved in close, wrapping one arm around her waist.
“Let me confirm it for myself. You won't refuse, right, Sister Tina? When I gave you a physical exam yesterday, you agreed to everything.”
“Mgh.”
Tina's lips were bitten.
It lasted for a long time, leaving her breathless, but she could tell that Sathya was very happy.
Sathya dominated what little space remained in her mouth, as if trying to suck out her very soul.
Then, in her joy, two black tentacles replaced her arm around Tina's waist, while her actual hands cupped Tina's face, savoring her taste.
A warm current flowed down Tina's throat and into her body, making her feel cozy all over.
This time was slightly different; Sathya had eaten some candy, so her mouth tasted sweet.
It felt so good. She loved Little Ya so much.
This was so nice. How wonderful, my Little Ya...
After the kiss, Sathya didn't seem satisfied yet. She held Tina's body and pinned her down onto the bed.
Tina's lower abdomen felt warm.
“Not... like... this...”
A blush crept onto Tina's face, yet her hands simply couldn't push Sathya away.
This was far from the first time.
Sathya had been unable to hold back her affection before, but back then, Sister Tina couldn't react.
Now, Sister Tina could laugh and cry, and she could also feel shy and resist—though, of course, it was likely just playful reluctance.
“I am... a magical beast...”
A glimmer of clarity returned to Tina's eyes. Feeling her body grow hot and restless, she immediately tried to warn Sathya that she was a dangerous monster—a monster that could hurt her at any moment.
Sathya's response was extremely simple.
She released her miasma, and a scarlet cross appeared within her pupils.
“I am a magical beast too, so don't be afraid.”
Only at times like this would Tina seem to remember something, gladly accepting it all.
She reached out to embrace Sathya, pulling her close. Her somewhat slow mind couldn't process too much information, but her mouth kept repeating a single name.
Or rather, a single person.
“Little Ya... Sa... thya... my Sathya.”
