Chapter 28 | Please Stop Possessing Me, Lord Evil God!

"By defeating magical beasts, there's a chance to directly awaken a Life Star skill?"

Grinya asked in surprise, "That doesn't seem right. Aren't Life Star skills supposed to be blessings from the power of gods?"

The doctor finished packing the cold medicine and smiled, "I'm not exactly sure about the specific reasons myself. All I know is that if you don't go to Hero Square to gather right now, you're going to miss the Wuxin Island trial."

"Oh no!"

Grinya looked up at the wall clock, her face turning pale.

It was already seven-fifty, only ten minutes away from eight in the morning.

With no time to think, Grinya hurriedly swallowed a packet of cold medicine and rushed out of the infirmary.

Sure enough, every figure Grinya could see at this moment—whether they were freshmen or seniors—was running along the campus paths with all their might.

Grinya could only join the army of students rushing for their eight o'clock start, gulping down bitter tablets as she ran.

"It's the very first day of school. I can't be late on the first day..."

Grinya was terrified.

...

In a rented apartment in Donghai City, on the seventh floor.

At this moment, a certain college student named Lu Xun was still curled up in his bed. Too lazy to even open his eyes, he scratched his backside, rolled over, and continued sleeping.

An eight o'clock class?

Never heard of it.

...

Hero Square was already buzzing with the sound of voices.

Hundreds of freshmen were crowded there, divided into six lines according to their classes, standing before a massive stone statue.

It was said to be the first principal of Yiertaya Academy, Ledavich Atuoya.

As a human, he had won the favor of the God of Order and was the deity's most trusted subordinate. During the ancient war of the gods, he had participated as a mortal, sacrificing himself and making great contributions to the side of the righteous gods.

Though he was not a god, he was effectively a demigod.

To commemorate him, Yiertaya Academy had specially built this tall, majestic stone statue and named the square Hero Square.

Buze stood straight, his head held high, looking at the statue of Ledavich with a solemn gaze.

Ledavich was the pride of the Katar people, and the blood of the Atuoya family flowed in his own veins.

As a descendant of a hero and a member of the Kritov family, he felt a deep sense of pride.

However, that pride had now been shattered by a commoner from the countryside!

He could not accept it!

"Hello, students." A young teacher walked over. He wore gold-rimmed glasses, but his eyes were vacant, giving off a listless and decadent vibe.

He looked like an unlucky fellow who had suffered a major, unexplained blow and lost all self-confidence.

"My name is Evan. From today on, I will be your homeroom teacher for your four years at the academy. If you encounter any trouble in the future..."

He paused for a moment and sighed deeply, "Don't come to me. I'm useless and can't solve any problems. If you have business, go find Teacher Zephu next door."

Buze: "..."

The students: "..."

Buze's sharp gaze swept across the class, and he frowned slightly.

Through his behind-the-scenes manipulation, that woman named Grinya had been arranged into the same class as him. However, with the trial about to begin, he still hadn't seen her.

If that woman wasn't here, how was he supposed to wash away his shame?

He clenched his fists, his fighting spirit not diminishing with time but rather increasing.

Suddenly, Buze's gaze froze, staring intently at a figure jogging hurriedly from the other side of the square.

"Finally, she's here..." Buze sneered.

Zephu walked over to Evan's side. Seeing his decadent state and out of concern for her colleague, she asked caringly, "Evan, how are you feeling now?"

"Yeah, I'm fine now. It just takes a bit of time to step out of that shadow." Evan rubbed his brow hard. "That truly was the greatest proctoring accident of my life."

Zephu knew what Evan was talking about. After all, that proctoring accident had already spread throughout the teacher circles.

In a room of a hundred examinees, not a single decent exam paper had been collected. Such a bizarre event was practically one of the ten great mysteries of the new century at Yiertaya!

Evan had also been severely criticized by the principal because of it, and he had been depressed ever since.

"Don't worry about it, Evan. That was just an accident."

"An accident?" Evan suddenly remembered that female student; her incredibly confident expression was still vivid in his mind.

Just thinking about how her chaotic exam paper had single-handedly broken the mental state of the entire examination room made Evan shiver with fear.

Damn it, who gave her that confidence? Even he had been fooled!

However, Evan quickly tried to comfort himself:

"It's fine. As long as I don't run into that Calamity Child again, I should be able to step out of the shadow soon."

"Sorry, Teacher! I'm late!"

Hearing the voice, Evan subconsciously turned around, and his eyes met the familiar face from his memory.

Evan: "!!!"

Grinya froze for a moment and greeted him somewhat awkwardly, "Hello, Teacher. We meet again."

"It's you! That Calamity Child!"

Teacher Evan's broken scream could be heard clearly throughout the entire square.

...

Eight-oh-five.

Some students were already getting impatient. Most of them were children of nobility, and waiting outside in the wind and sun was more painful to them than death.

Consequently, the atmosphere in the square gradually became restless.

"Frivolous." Buze glanced at these impatient peers with slight dissatisfaction.

Then, he quietly stole a glance at Grinya.

Grinya was standing at the very back of the line, appearing quite inconspicuous.

It seemed that Teacher Evan's breakdown earlier had made her feel embarrassed, as she was currently hanging her head and fidgeting with the hem of her clothes.

'To be so composed, neither panicked nor restless... no wonder you're so strong, Grinya...'

But in Buze's eyes, Grinya's behavior took on a completely different meaning.

He expressed high recognition for Grinya in his heart, but then he sneered again.

'I admit you're very capable, but the glory of the Kritov family passed down through generations is not something a mere commoner can shake. Just you wait.'

The noisy square suddenly fell silent at this moment.

A young man wearing a white shirt and a black coat strode toward the most eye-catching high platform, a faint smile on his confident face.

Everyone nervously and curiously turned their gazes toward him.

"Freshmen, welcome to Yiertaya Royal Academy."

The young man faced the crowd, and his resonant voice sent tremors through everyone's hearts.

Could he be the principal?

"As you can see, I am this year's principal's... assistant."

Kaiya smiled. Facing the boos from the crowd below, he didn't mind and continued, "Because the principal has some important matters to handle and cannot find the time to meet everyone, I will be speaking on the principal's behalf."

"First of all, I am very glad that everyone chose Yiertaya Royal Academy. As everyone knows, Yiertaya Royal Academy has a long history. The first principal, Ledavich... (eight hundred words omitted here)... Therefore, I believe everyone will certainly learn precious things at Yiertaya Royal Academy, and I hope everyone has a wonderful and unforgettable time at the academy."

"However, being admitted to Yiertaya Royal Academy does not mean your tasks are finished. On the contrary, this is the beginning of another part of your life. you need to face this new chapter with an even more proactive and diligent attitude than before... (eight hundred words omitted here)... Yiertaya Royal Academy will always be your solid fortress!"
