Chapter 47 | Please Stop Possessing Me, Lord Evil God!

"Teacher Zephu, stop staring. We have to deal with these unconscious students," a teacher said, pulling on Zephu's arm.

"Hey, that girl just now—something is very wrong with her!" Zephu said urgently.

"Don't worry about that for now. The students are more important. Look, Assistant Kaiya has already gone over to question her. Let him handle those concerns."

...

Lu Xun looked at the golden eyed youth who had suddenly blocked his path. The man's face was dark with resentment, veins bulging in his neck. He practically wore his displeasure like a mask.

What's this?

Giving me attitude?

Do you know who I am?

Xun Shen!

Believe it or not, I'll drag you into a dark room and give you a beating!

"Is there something you need?" Grinya asked expressionlessly, her tone slightly dissatisfied.

"Wuxin Island..." Kaiya gritted his teeth, his voice escaping through the gaps. "Everyone else is unconscious. Why are you the only one acting as if nothing happened?"

His ferocious expression looked like he wanted to swallow Grinya whole.

"Because I'm awesome. Got it?" Grinya tilted her head.

"..."

Looking at the white haired girl's matter of fact face, Kaiya was suddenly speechless.

For some reason, Kaiya felt like the person standing before him wasn't human, but some kind of lunatic with a brain defect. Consequently, much of his anger dissipated.

"Did you see anything in the secret realm that left a deep impression on you? Any specific scenes or images?" Kaiya asked anxiously.

Grinya watched him quietly, like a motionless doll.

"Speak up!" Seeing her like this, Kaiya's subsiding rage flared again, and he shouted.

Grinya unhurriedly crossed her arms over her chest, a trace of a cold sneer appearing on her icy face.

"You've lived all these years and still forgotten the rules for being an NPC? Is this how you act when you're asking someone for a favor?"

"En... En-pee-see?" Kaiya was stunned, asking in confusion, "Who is that?"

Grinya shook her head. "There's no explaining it to an emotionless virtual person like you. If you don't understand the proper attitude for asking for help, then get lost. Don't stand in my way."

Before her voice even faded, Kaiya stood frozen as if struck by a bolt from the blue. Horror was written all over his face.

An emotionless virtual person...

How had she guessed his true identity?

At this moment, Kaiya's mind went blank, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Grinya.

His true self was just an android composed of data strings. No one in the Katar Kingdom was supposed to know about this!

If his true identity were exposed, then all the effort he had put into being an undercover agent for the Rubite Kingdom for all these years would be wasted!

His identity was the fuse for the war between the two kingdoms and the key for the Rubite Kingdom to defeat the Katar Kingdom.

No one could understand the fear Kaiya felt at being seen through so completely.

What should he do?

Should he kill her here to keep her quiet?

Kaiya glanced at Zephu and the others who were moving students. Seeing that no one was looking, his expression turned ruthless. A flow of frost magic suddenly condensed in his palm.

Just as he was about to lash out, Grinya suddenly said nonchalantly:

"I suggest you think carefully about your own identity and status before you do anything."

Kaiya's hand stiffened slightly.

Grinya sneered again.

A mere NPC—where did he get the courage to speak to me in such a tone?

Did he think I was some five star citizen in Crime City?

"Next time, remember to keep your eyes open. If you don't understand which people you can't afford to offend, your end will be very miserable."

Grinya coldly walked past him, leaving Hero Square and leaving behind a Kaiya who was already drenched in cold sweat.

"Was she... was she just threatening me?"

Kaiya murmured to himself.

"If I had made a move just now, I definitely would have been killed... Who exactly is she? Could the disappearance of Wuxin Island be related to her..."

"She spared my life; it was just a warning. And she didn't expose my identity..."

More and more questions crowded Kaiya's head, causing him great distress.

Suddenly, a spark of inspiration hit him: "Could it be that she's also an enemy of the Katar Kingdom?"

In the distance, Princess Ruiya, lying in the crowd, quietly opened one eye. Seeing Grinya leave, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Good luck indeed; she had survived another day.

Although she didn't know why Grinya hadn't exposed her identity, perhaps the god had some deep intention.

It was best not to speculate too much on the thoughts of a god.

...

Reaching a relatively quiet corner without outside interference, Lu Xun opened his inventory with a wicked grin.

The rewards from completing this quest were truly too abundant. Setting aside the items, his Source Crystals and Prestige had reached 2,500 and 1,400 respectively. This was a very substantial sum.

With 1,400 Prestige, he could pull from the gacha pool 14 times.

He didn't believe that after 14 pulls, he still wouldn't get anything good.

"Heavens above, earth below, O Great Lord, show your power..."

The evil god was murmuring words she didn't understand again. Grinya hadn't intended to pay attention; she was already used to the evil god occasionally muttering forbidden phrases she couldn't comprehend. After all, a god was an existence humans could never understand. No matter how absurd the evil god's actions were, there was surely a reason behind them.
