Chapter 95 | Please Stop Possessing Me, Lord Evil God!

"What are you doing?" Gexi asked her, puzzled.

"Preparing for revenge. I'm the type of person who holds a serious grudge," Grinya said, glancing at her with a meaningful look that made Gexi suddenly shiver.

Was there a draft? Why did looking into those eyes make her feel a bit cold?

Gexi muttered to herself in confusion.

While the boost from the Arcane Woven Scale was significant, it was still far from enough for Lu Xun.

He still had quite a few treasures in his inventory sent by National Server Jungle King, and Lu Xun intended to use every single one that was available.

Don't underestimate his determination for revenge, you bastard!

The Destiny Soul Essence was described as a gold-quality item used to upgrade the quality of a Life Star, its value was self-evident. With just one, he could upgrade the Peerless Fencer's purple Life Star to gold.

There was also the Golden Life Soul, which could be used to upgrade character quality.

However, the process of upgrading character quality was somewhat complex, and a single Golden Life Soul was far from enough, though it could still provide a ten percent bonus to all attributes, which was a significant boost in combat power.

Finally, there was the Essence of Bond Faith, which guaranteed a purple-quality item from a single draw.

Without a doubt, this was absolutely insane!

A purple item that usually required a ten-pull to guarantee was now his with just one click.

One pull was better than ten!

Lu Xun did not hesitate and immediately opened the gacha page.

Unsurprisingly, a purple light flashed.

But this time, his mindset was completely different from before. He no longer cared about gentle, caring nurse characters or tsundere, cute noble ladies.

He only wanted equipment.

He wanted to kill that bastard NPC named Duoze!

Looking at the purple card on the screen, Lu Xun moved his mouse to click it with a heart full of nervous anticipation.

The card's illustration featured a red talisman bag woven with gold thread, decorated with two golden auspicious clouds and a large character for "Blessing."

"Nice, it really is an item!" Lu Xun was overjoyed, though one thing felt slightly strange: why did this talisman bag look so familiar?

He felt like he had seen it somewhere before.

He didn't overthink it and continued reading the equipment description.

【God's Blessing (Purple)】

【Unique Passive - Divine Luck: Immune to corruption from other gods.】

【Active Effect - Divine Blessing: For thirty minutes after activation, the character is immune to death. Cooldown: 24 hours.】

"Immune to death?" Lu Xun was startled, finding it hard to believe.

It was the legendary unkillable mechanic!

Didn't that mean he was already invincible?

Don't be fooled by the fact that the active effect only lasted half an hour while the cooldown was a full twenty-four hours. While it might seem limited, he could simply wait until his character's health was almost zero before activating the skill. As long as he wasn't hit by an execution move, he would gain thirty minutes of invincibility.

With thirty minutes of stress-free damage output, he could probably chip away at even the toughest boss until it died.

With this thing, Lu Xun couldn't even imagine how he could lose a dungeon run.

If a small purple-tier item had such a terrifying active effect, he couldn't imagine how powerful a gold-tier item would be.

Gexi was deep in thought. She still didn't quite trust this Grinya, who had suddenly become so strange.

However, the Diao Cult's plan to resurrect the Plague God was imminent, and she had to find a way to stop them.

How to handle her partnership with Grinya was currently her biggest headache.

"Um, Grinya, I think with your strength, trying to continue the infiltration is still too much for you. I think you should..." She was about to advise Grinya to retreat, but her voice stopped abruptly.

As a genius diviner, her senses were always extremely sharp.

A sense of extreme unease and terror rose in her heart for no reason. She looked up toward the distant sky.

There, a sky-piercing pillar of dark purple light poured into the heavens from behind the mountains. The thick layers of grey clouds were like a surging tide, constantly rippling outward.

The dark purple pillar of light continuously emitted energy fluctuations, turning the world completely grey and dull. The green of life faded away at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Flowers and grass withered, birds perished, and all traces of life seemed to be erased from the painting.

Without any resistance or struggle, the scene before her eyes turned into a literal hell in just a few breaths.

Gexi could hardly breathe; her skin was shriveling and becoming diseased.

Despite her agony, she could not mount any defense.

Because her divine tier was not high enough...

This was the plague released by the Plague God. Just a simple hint of His aura was enough to extinguish all life in the surrounding area.

Below the level of a god, there wasn't even such a thing as struggling.

For those with insufficient divine tier, even looking upon a god's presence was a capital offense, let alone facing a god's power head-on.

But... Gexi did not die.

Though she was in pain and both her body and mind were affected, she was still struggling.

Even Gexi found it strange.

She recognized that this was the plague power of the Plague God. By all logic, she should have been infected and died within seconds, yet nearly half a minute had passed, and she was still alive.

Furthermore, as each second passed, the peak of her pain subsided, and she could even feel her body gradually recovering.

"Could it be because my conviction is so strong that it allowed me to briefly suppress the god's corruption?"

Just as she was beginning to believe this reason, she suddenly noticed a brilliant gold light beside her. It was warm and holy, forming a light curtain that enveloped her as well.

Bathed in this golden light, she gradually became immune to the Plague God's corruption.

She realized something and snapped her head toward Grinya.

She saw Grinya gazing into the distance with a calm expression. Her eyes were fixed only on that dark purple pillar of light; the passing of life had no effect on her at all.

There was a small object at her waist, and it was the source of that holy and warm golden light. At this moment, it was emitting an incomparably dazzling radiance, painting Grinya's face in gold.
