"That's good."
It seemed this healing art was exactly what I thought; it wasn't just simple repair, but a conceptual "reversion to a healthy state."
Recovery, restoration, and reversion were similar, but their concepts differed.
Repair meant fixing broken parts.
Restoration meant healing injuries.
Reversion meant returning to a healthy state.
A normal nun's healing art was closer to restoration, using holy power to stimulate a patient's cells and trigger self-recovery.
As for repair, I wasn't quite sure yet.
However, my healing art felt more like reversion.
"Thank you, Your Highness. I..."
"Enough. No need for more gratitude, Lola. You are one of the few people I can fully trust now. I hope you won't let me down."
There were only a handful of people I could trust, and Lola was at the top of that list.
"Please rest assured, Your Highness. Even if I must give my all, I will never disappoint you."
"Good. Take this."
I reached into the nightstand drawer and pulled out a command token. This was an access token for the bedchamber; with it, she could enter and leave my room legitimately.
"Work hard."
"Thank you for your favor, Your Highness."
Lola knelt on the ground and raised both hands to accept the token. Receiving this meant that from today onward, she was officially my trusted confidante.
"Go now. Get some sleep."
"Your Highness, after you treated me, I feel energized. I don't need rest."
"Is that so? Look up."
Lola obeyed. The bloodshot veins in her eyes were gone. Her gaze was bright and deep, filled with vitality. She didn't look like someone who lacked sleep at all.
Did that sliver of light that flowed into her brain have this effect?
I suppose it makes sense.
Since my healing art was a conceptual reversion, even mental fatigue could be reverted to a healthy state.
"If you truly don't feel tired, I won't stop you. But Lola, I hope you treasure your health."
"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness. I am truly fine."
Lola lowered her head again, kneeling respectfully by the bed.
"In that case, go about your business. Urge the Mage Guild to repair the magic towers and restore communication as soon as possible. Recall the vanguard Guardian Knight Nar, and have all forces return to the city except for the mopping-up army."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Lola nodded, rose, and exited the room, remembering to close the door behind her.
Sitting in the room, I let out a long sigh and leaned against the headboard, my thoughts a mess.
The Kingdom of the Sun and the Snow Country had mobilized at the same time to pressure the Holy Church.
They had clearly caught wind of something. It was a great favor to the Kingdom of the Moon, one that had to be repaid.
However, unlike the Kingdom of the Moon, the other six nations of the Holy Church had their own royal families.
I wondered if the order came from the royals or the saintesses.
The immediate crisis was over.
This allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief.
My eyelids grew heavy. Despite sitting up, exhaustion surged over me.
Without realizing it, Luo Li drifted off again, her body leaning against the headboard as a silver lock of hair slid over her shoulder.
If an artist were to paint this sleeping beauty, it would surely fetch an astronomical price at auction.
The spring breeze goes unnoticed as cherry blossoms fall.
In the blink of an eye, the sun was high outside, and the streets were bustling.
Vitality was slowly returning to the streets of Brilliant City.
Although the demon invasion had only lasted three days, life had to go on.
People still had to live their lives.
Most people on the streets wore expressions of joy.
"This great victory has truly allowed us people of the Kingdom of the Moon to hold our heads high!"
"You bet! Those merchants used to say our kingdom was empty and the saintess was useless. Now, let them see—our saintess is a female general who can hack through any obstacle!"
At a small stall on the street, two men were chatting over a meal. A mother and son passed by, and the boy looked up at his mother upon hearing them.
"Mama, is the saintess really that amazing?"
"Of course. Those demons were so scared of her that they collapsed in an instant. The saintess is very powerful."
"Really? Then I want to be a knight when I grow up! I want to serve Her Highness!"
"Heh... my little hero wants to be a knight? You'll have to work hard then. Being a knight isn't easy."
"Mm! I'll definitely work hard!"
The child's heart was pure. His clear gaze fixed on the tallest Temple in the center of Brilliant City... the residence of the saintess.
He secretly told himself he would become a knight to serve her.
Similar scenes were everywhere in Brilliant City today.
The news that the saintess had led the army to crush the demon elites, heavily wounded the Demon Marshal Butcher Zuka, and killed the Demon Commander Barn had spread to everyone.
No one knew where the news started, but it traveled faster than the reports reaching the soldiers on the battlefield.
"Is that so? The news outside is spreading that fast?"
Luo Li, who had just woken up and was being dressed by Nara and Ella, looked at Nara in surprise.
"Yes, Your Highness. You have no idea—everyone outside is talking about how powerful you are!"
Nara laughed happily, looking like a child bragging about a favorite toy.
Even though I was the one who did the work... well, if she wants to brag, it's good for me too.
"Your Highness, such rumors aren't quite normal, are they?"
Ella whispered a reminder.
It was indeed abnormal. However, hearing this from Ella's mouth was even more unusual.
"It's fine. Let them spread. The more, the better."
I didn't know whose scheme this was. Sometimes a good thing could turn into a bad one if twisted.
I had to be on guard.
But Ella didn't need to know too much.
"Your Highness, please raise your arms."
Nara straightened the long hair behind her and picked up the corset.
It was more like a one-piece swimsuit that supported her chest.
The waist was a bit tight, which was slightly uncomfortable, but this body had long since adapted.
This waist cincher didn't feel constricting; it just made my movements look elegant.
A saintess wore only three layers.
First was the undergarment, then an underskirt that hung from the waist of the first layer, covering about a third of the way above the knees.
Finally, the Saintess's robe was draped over her shoulders.
Nara and Ella worked together to pull my long silver hair out from under the robe, letting it flow down my back.
Once the crown was placed, the standard saintess attire was complete.
"Where is Lola? Tell her to come see me."
