Dalun Li watched the struggle of the adventurers on the ninth floor with great satisfaction.
The residual Forbidden Fire on the Desert Sword Attendant was, of course, Dalun Li's masterpiece.
He had not created the version of Forbidden Fire the adventurers imagined.
The fire on the Desert Sword Attendant was merely an experimental prototype Dalun Li had fashioned.
After creating Feiwan, and possessing the knowledge of a fifth-rank mage along with the dungeon's power, he had used a dragon flame crystal to create this disposable Forbidden Fire.
It was a prototype Forbidden Fire.
At the same time, he utilized the power of plants to infuse a powerful life force into the Forbidden Fire.
This gave the Forbidden Fire a plant-like vitality that allowed it to grow, an ability borrowed from Zeno.
By combining these two powers, the Forbidden Fire not only possessed the terrifying heat of dragon flame but also the traits of being inextinguishable and self-growing.
As long as a single spark touched them, the Forbidden Fire could drain the target's life force to keep itself burning.
The trait that drove people mad was derived from the power of the pitch-black palace.
Specifically, it was the Evil God power of the Dark Starry Sky.
He extracted the madness-inducing quality from the Evil God power of the Dark Starry Sky and fused it into the Forbidden Fire.
This was how he had created the Prototype Forbidden Fire.
Once the Forbidden Fire attached itself and began to scorch, it would grow rapidly; the larger the area it covered, the more insane the victim would become until they eventually lost all reason.
Furthermore, the Forbidden Fire possessed another characteristic.
That was its light.
Even the light emitted by the Forbidden Fire could drive people mad.
Of course, it was not without flaws; this Prototype Forbidden Fire was a consumable that Dalun Li had temporarily cobbled together from various powers.
The forces within it were merely squeezed together by force, not fully fused.
Consequently, it could not be preserved indefinitely; from the moment of its creation, it was on a steady path toward collapse.
This meant the Forbidden Fire was only at its strongest at the moment of activation.
Afterward, it would continue to weaken.
To delay and compensate for this flaw, Dalun Li had created another magical artifact.
The Candelabra.
The Candelabra was a greater magic grade magical artifact created using magic iron ingots, a cut dragon embryo plate, layers of flame crystals, and a Large Piece of Earth Vein Essence.
[Candelabra] Greater magic grade magical artifact. Capable of resurrecting monsters and containing Forbidden Fire.
[Special Effects] 1. Monster Resuscitation: Consumes monster materials and uses dungeon coins as fuel to resurrect monsters within the Well of Eternal Imprisonment.
2. Forbidden Fire Container: Able to contain and hold Forbidden Fire.
As a greater magic grade magical artifact, the Candelabra only had these two effects.
However, there was not just one Candelabra.
This was a set of greater magic grade magical artifacts, totaling three pieces.
There were three candelabras in total.
The one held by the Desert Sword Attendant was just one of them.
With the aid of the Candelabra, the residual embers of the Forbidden Fire within the Desert Sword Attendant could be fully utilized, and its rate of dissipation was greatly reduced.
The materials Feiwan had sent back had proven extremely useful.
In total, two Large Pieces of Earth Vein Essence and twenty-four Small Pieces of Mana Essence had been extracted.
Dalun Li felt that he had finally achieved freedom from worrying about his supply of Small Pieces of Earth Vein Essence.
By combining these with the vast amount of materials in the dungeon, Dalun Li could now mass-produce lesser magic grade magical artifacts.
Dalun Li watched the struggle of this group of adventurers with anticipation.
"Die in greater numbers, and obediently provide me with nourishment."
What Dalun Li looked forward to most was the losses within Caiman's knight order.
Compared to other adventurers, Caiman's knight order was simply too powerful.
Maintaining a balance of power among the various invaders so they could keep each other in check was also part of the art of managing a dungeon.
...
Caiman commanded the knight order to quickly pull away toward one side of the desert.
The Desert Sword Attendant pursued them like a mad dog.
Its four arms brandished blades across the sand, the Sword Qi wreathed in flames melting and kicking up the grains of sand.
Wyverns composed of Forbidden Fire flapped their wings, opening their maws filled with fire to spit torrents of Forbidden Fire onto the desert surface.
There was nowhere to hide!
Two wyverns took the opportunity to dive, their outspread wings of Forbidden Fire acting like two sharp blades of flame.
Caiman stomped heavily onto the sand, kicking up a cloud of dust while he gripped his sword hilt, took a deep breath, and threw his blade in a reverse arc.
The Sword Qi wreathed the thrown blade as it spun through the air, cutting a circular arc and striking heavily against the diving wyverns.
The two diving wyverns were instantly sliced apart by the spinning blade, scattering into flowing embers.
Meanwhile, the mages chanted as they ran, conjuring gales that kicked up sand to blow away the splashing Forbidden Fire.
It was too strong!
The power of the Forbidden Fire was far too overwhelming!
It was simply not something that human strength could oppose!
Having thrown his blade, Caiman was currently without a weapon.
However, he did not panic; he quickly unstrapped the longsword he had been carrying on his back.
He had not used this sword since entering the dungeon.
This was because the sword was a greater magic grade magical artifact kept in the Grey family collection.
It was a greater magic grade magical artifact the Grey family had discovered in the Gray City dungeon, and it was far too precious to lose.
Thus, even as a peak third-rank swordsman, Caiman had not used this piece of magical equipment until now.
Instead, he had relied on mana armor and standard equipment.
Gripping the hilt and feeling the vast mana within the longsword, Caiman suddenly drew the blade.
In an instant, the mana was no longer hidden, and the surging magical power caught the attention of everyone on the battlefield.
"A greater magic grade magical artifact!"
Everyone let out a cry of surprise.
The Red Rose team also quickly pulled back, watching that direction warily.
Watching from a great distance, Zeno immediately received information about the sword from Tongmu.
[Forgotten Hero] Greater magic grade magic sword. The blade of a forgotten, nameless hero. Just as the sword is forgotten, no one remembers the heroic deeds or noble character of its master.
[Special Effects] 1. Oblivion: The Sword Qi can cause the target to temporarily forget one of their abilities.
2. Severance: The Sword Qi can directly divide the opponent's attacks, weakening their power.
3. Hero's Armor: Increases the defensive effect of Sword Qi, allowing for the condensation of a protective barrier.
The longsword looked somewhat ordinary, resembling a common steel sword, and even appeared a bit ancient and worn.
But there was no doubt that this was a genuine greater magic grade magical artifact.
Gripping the hilt, Caiman's entire body surged with Sword Qi as he slashed upward several times.
The incoming attacks were all sliced apart.
At that moment, the heavy warriors quickly pressed forward with their shields, blocking the remaining attacks.
However, the Desert Sword Attendant, its entire body burning with Forbidden Fire, showed no intention of stopping.
Holding the Candelabra, its three other swords worked in coordination as if three swordsmen were attacking simultaneously, pressing down upon the knight order.
The sparks of Forbidden Fire falling from its attacks were impossible to dodge.
Caiman took the opportunity to dash out from the side, the Forgotten Hero in his hand quickly slashing Sword Qi toward the Desert Sword Attendant.
The Desert Sword Attendant swung a sword to block, but its body was still struck by a bolt of Sword Qi.
The Sword Qi did not cause much physical damage, but it successfully triggered the special effect of the Forgotten Hero.
One of its abilities had been forgotten.
