Chapter 109 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

"Sister Olivia Melianne, that is your mission. Do you have any further questions?"

"No."

"Then you may set out."

"Praise the Goddess."

Olivia left the Administrative Office, her expression a bit complex.

She had received a new mission today.

This mission was related to a new policy the Church had recently introduced.

As the policy spread, all of Kaliron and the entire Holy Kelidos Empire were sent into a stir. After all, this was a tangible benefit that could aid all transcendents; no one could ignore it.

In a short time, various transcendent organizations had sprouted like mushrooms after rain, submitting applications to the Church.

Faced with numerous applications, the Church naturally had to proceed with caution. They could only grant recognition to truly faithless transcendent organizations; they could not possibly recognize groups that worshipped evil gods.

However, those that worshipped evil gods or had malicious intent might also submit applications, hoping to fish in troubled waters and fleece the Church for all it was worth.

Olivia's task was to investigate a transcendent organization to ensure it was legitimate.

It was a group called Blue Rose, established only a few days ago. Currently, it appeared to be a small organization without any powerful figures, which was why she was put in charge of the matter.

Walking out of the Administrative Office, Olivia looked up to see her two teammates waiting for her.

"Olivia, I didn't think we'd be fighting side-by-side again so soon. But your growth has been so fast; I feel like you're getting further and further away... Still, that's a good thing. Now that we're in the Church, I'll have to rely on you to look out for me."

Bethany spoke with a smile.

The other teammate was Mirabelle, the nun who kept secrets.

Unlike Bethany, who could speak to Olivia as if nothing had changed, Mirabelle's expression was inevitably awkward when she saw her.

If it hadn't been for the Church's arrangements, she wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere near Olivia. Even if Olivia didn't mock her, she felt embarrassed herself.

After all, not long ago, she had confidently told Olivia that she would surpass her and keep widening the gap until Olivia could only look up to her.

And now?

Now, Olivia had become a sensate with unexpected speed, while she was still a pilgrim.

Far from surpassing Olivia, the distance between them had only grown...

Olivia smiled and chatted with Bethany for a few moments, then gave Mirabelle a meaningful look.

"Let's go."

She led the two of them toward the cathedral exit.

As they walked, the image of Melanie flashed through Olivia's mind, and she felt a touch of sentiment.

Mirabelle and Bethany had originally been working under Melanie, but now they had been transferred to her. This was naturally because some changes had occurred on Melanie's end.

Melanie had advanced!

The chanting nun had become an oracle nun during this advancement!

The class rank corresponding to an oracle nun was a Domainist!

After reaching this new height, Melanie was faced with two choices.

First, she could lead her own small team of weaker clergy as the primary figure.

Second, she could join a team of stronger individuals as a regular member. This would allow her to see a wider world but would also involve more danger.

The Church never forced anyone in such matters, and Melanie's choice was the latter.

Thus, those who had previously followed Melanie were reassigned and scattered among different leaders.

After leaving the cathedral, the three of them boarded a carriage.

Mirabelle took the initiative to drive, heading toward their destination at a steady pace.

Olivia's target this time was the organization called Blue Rose.

As a group that had only surfaced recently due to the Church's policies, Blue Rose had no history to speak of, so an investigation was needed to determine if the personnel were problematic.

For others, this would be a tedious task, but for Olivia, it wasn't much of a hassle.

This was because the area where Blue Rose was currently located fell within the magic mirror's range of control.

Once settled in the carriage, Olivia intended to ask the magic mirror for detailed information so she could prepare accordingly.

'Magic mirror, magic mirror, why was Blue Rose established?'

【It was established to obtain benefits from the Church.】

'Mirror, do they have any connection to evil gods?'

【No.】

Receiving this answer, Olivia felt much more relaxed.

No matter the situation, once evil gods were involved, it was never a small matter.

As long as it had nothing to do with evil gods, the safety level could be said to have increased dramatically.

She continued her inquiry.

'Mirror, are there any other forces behind Blue Rose?'

【It is related to the Black and White Brotherhood.】

Hm?

The mirror's response made Olivia's eyes narrow as she sensed something unusual.

The name "Black and White Brotherhood" felt vaguely familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before, but she couldn't quite recall it.

But it didn't matter; the magic mirror would definitely know what she couldn't remember.

'Mirror, what kind of organization is the Black and White Brotherhood?'

【It is an organization primarily focused on human trafficking. They kidnap women and children from various places and sell them to distant regions for profit.】

Olivia's face immediately darkened.

Regardless of the era, she harbored a deep-seated hatred for human trafficking.

Blue Rose, Black and White Brotherhood—how bold of them to deliver themselves right to her doorstep.

Olivia felt her fists tighten.

She immediately asked the magic mirror a few more questions to quickly grasp the situation of this Black and White Brotherhood.

Detailed information surfaced in her mind in a short amount of time.

There were transcendents within the Black and White Brotherhood, but they weren't particularly strong. After all, the organization's primary goal was human trafficking and rarely involved transcendent matters.

However, these few transcendents were currently gathered in the South District, disguised as Blue Rose in an attempt to gain benefits from the Church.

Among them was even one of the leaders of the Black and White Brotherhood, a Shield Guard at the sensate level.

In the entire Black and White Brotherhood, there was only one sensate.

Having confirmed that the organization's strength wasn't terrifying, Olivia had no intention of turning back to ask the Church for reinforcements. The three of them were more than enough to handle these thugs.
