"Another level of competition?"
Olivia was thoughtful.
Sybil stopped after saying those words, took a sip of the Midnight Rose in front of her, and looked at Olivia with a smile.
Seeing that Olivia did not ask anything more, Sybil finally said, "Are you not curious about what it is?"
"If it is something I am allowed to know, Nun Sybil, you will surely tell me. If it is something I should not know, then there is no need for me to ask."
"Olivia, I am beginning to admire you more and more."
Sybil felt that Olivia was truly a very sensible nun, her eyes filled with praise.
What she did not know was that during their interaction, Olivia had already understood most of the situation through the magic mirror in her heart.
Nothing that happened in the Imperial Capital, Kaliron, would ever be a secret to Olivia.
"Since I mentioned it, it is naturally something you can know," Sybil spoke slowly. "The Nature Sect, the Earth Church, the Tower of Stars, and the Moriah family all want to test the foundation of our Radiant Light Church."
"However, they will not engage in a major conflict. The means of testing are limited to the level of a mid-level class rank transcendent."
"Simply put, they want to send transcendents of three class ranks—Transcender, Domainist, and Skywalker—to compete against transcendents of the same class ranks from our church to see who wins or loses."
"And you, Olivia, I hope you can represent the Transcender class rank and secure this victory for our church."
That was the situation.
It was quite common for different organizations to test one another through transcendent confrontations, and they usually chose mid-level class rank transcendents.
After all, there were too many low-level class rank transcendents, their range was too wide, and their strength fluctuated too much to serve as a proper standard.
High-level class rank transcendents, on the other hand, were too important and could not be deployed casually.
Therefore, the best choice could only be mid-level class rank transcendents.
"If they want to test us, then let them."
"But our Radiant Light Church is not so easily tested. We must ensure that we emerge victorious in the battles of all three class ranks."
"So Olivia, I have chosen you."
"Because I am very clear that within the Transcender class rank, no one should be able to defeat you."
Hearing Sybil say this, Olivia’s expression was subtle.
She could not help but ask, "Nun Sybil, do you perhaps place too much trust in me?"
Sybil smiled and said, "I have no reason not to trust you. After all, you have a special constitution that allows you to freely control various forbidden artifacts. You have no reason not to be powerful."
"Can forbidden artifacts be used in such a probing battle?" Olivia asked.
"No," Sybil shook her head and said, "but even without using forbidden artifacts, I believe it will not be that difficult for you to win this battle."
Sybil was not unfamiliar with Olivia’s personal circumstances. After all, she was the top official of the Morning Light Cathedral and held great power, making it a point to understand such matters.
She knew that Olivia could enter a special state that could suppress even forbidden artifacts as if they were sealed.
But entering that state did more than just suppress forbidden artifacts.
In a normal battle, she believed that state could also exert extremely powerful pressure on an opponent, thereby establishing an advantage.
Seeing Sybil looking at her with a smile, Olivia could only agree. "If the church needs me to act, then I naturally will not refuse."
"If you are willing to step forward, we will be able to save a lot of manpower."
"Save manpower?"
"Yes, you are quite powerful and more stable. In the Transcender class rank, if you act alone, we will not need anyone else. Unlike the Domainist or Skywalker ranks, where we have to arrange several people."
Sybil did not hide anything from Olivia and clearly stated the convenience of having Olivia step in.
The same-rank Transcenders sent by the two great empires were not just one or two, but a whole group.
So normally, the church would also send a group of people to respond.
But Sybil felt that doing so would be a waste of manpower.
One had to know that the church still had to arrange for people to deal with various matters in Kaliron; the workload was very heavy.
So that was one of the reasons why she wanted Olivia to take action.
Given Olivia’s uniqueness, one person was enough to deal with all the Transcender class ranks.
"Unfortunately, among the clergy in our church who are of the Domainist and Skywalker class ranks, there is no one who possesses your kind of uniqueness. We have to send more people to ensure victory."
Sybil even felt some regret. If possible, she only wanted to send one person for each class rank.
Olivia was somewhat speechless hearing this. It turned out she had to deal with a whole group of Transcenders from the two empires alone? The pressure of this battle did not seem small.
At this moment, another question occurred to her, and she could not help but say, "Nun Sybil, if I participate in this kind of battle, will it have any impact on my undercover mission in the Rose Legion? Will my true identity be discovered by the people of the Rose Legion?"
Sybil said, "There is no need to worry about that. The testing between the three empires is an internal matter and will not be made public, so outsiders will not know about the process."
Olivia understood. However, would the people from the other two empires have any contact with the Rose Legion or the Frederick family and thereby reveal any information?
Thinking of this, Olivia wanted to ask more, but after a moment, she felt it was unnecessary.
She possessed the magic mirror and would use it from time to time to understand various events in Kaliron. If such a thing truly happened, she would likely know immediately and did not fear anything going wrong.
Furthermore, the two great empires should also know about the conflict between the Radiant Light Church, the Frederick family, and the Rose Legion. As long as they did not want to trigger a great war, they had no reason to intervene.
"When will these three internal tests begin?" Olivia asked.
Even though she could find the answer through the magic mirror, she still had to ask the questions that should be asked. She could not appear to be indifferent to everything.
"The exact time has not yet been determined. You can continue doing your own thing for now. Once the time is set, I will notify you," Sybil replied.
"I understand," Olivia nodded.
Next, their topic of conversation shifted to afternoon tea.
Sybil began to introduce Olivia to other afternoon teas besides the Midnight Rose and provided her critiques. The atmosphere between them became very relaxed.
It was not until an hour later that Olivia left the Morning Light Cathedral.
