Chapter 202 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

A Domainist is actually a rather special class. Regardless of the path a transcendent follows, they do not gain new abilities after becoming a Domainist.

Of course, saying it that way isn't entirely accurate, because the domain itself is a very powerful ability. It's more accurate to say that the ability everyone gains is the domain.

On the surface, one domain may seem much like another, but in reality, they contain subtle differences.

Different domains have different roots of existence, which affects the composition of the domain's power itself.

For example, an Ascetic's domain is composed of intertwined emotions.

If one were to encounter an attack targeting emotions that destroyed all emotions in an area, the deployment of the domain might fail.

An Arbiter's domain, on the other hand, exists with positive spirits such as justice and fairness as its root.

If placed in a lawless or extremely chaotic setting, an Arbiter's domain would be weakened or might even fail to manifest.

A Priest's domain exists with light as its root.

Therefore, at night, a Priest's domain is correspondingly weakened. In absolute darkness, it becomes difficult for a Priest's domain to unfold at all.

Olivia felt that an Ascetic's domain should be quite difficult to target. After all, who doesn't have emotions?

And even if others lacked emotions, she had her own, which could serve as the root for the domain's birth.

She could also manipulate emotions, amplifying those of others.

The deployment of the domain was no longer an issue. What she needed to focus on next was the establishment of rules.

In truth, rules within a domain could not be set at will; they required the consumption of power, and the power consumed was closely linked to the root of the domain's deployment.

In other words, if Olivia wanted to create rules within her domain, she needed to consume emotions.

Any emotion would do, even those of small animals. As long as there were emotions to consume, she could establish all sorts of rules. Naturally, the more absurd the rule, the greater the consumption of emotions.

Olivia deployed her domain inside her home and began conducting various experiments, wanting to see exactly how much emotion different rules would consume.

Of course, she did not study it for long. After familiarizing herself slightly, she stopped her movements.

A thought suddenly occurred to her.

"Magic mirror, previously when I needed to advance, I had to master all my prior abilities and find a sense of completion before I could hold the advancement ritual. But now, I don't seem to have any extra abilities to master. Doesn't that mean I can advance directly?"

As for finding that sense of completion, after finishing this advancement, Olivia felt it wasn't particularly important anymore.

Because of the magic mirror's existence, she could know exactly what her success rate for advancement was at different times. As long as the probability reached one hundred percent, she could bypass that search for completion and advance directly.

【Master, theoretically you could indeed advance directly, but the success rate would not be high. Looking at the current time periods, the highest success rate does not exceed 20%. Master, you still need to continue familiarizing yourself with the Domainist class. It would be best if you could find that sense of state completion within this rank.】

"If I can't find that sense of completion, does that mean I can't advance? Don't you know when I'll have a 100% success rate?"

【Master, true fate is ever-changing. I can only judge that today's highest success rate does not exceed 20%. Tomorrow's is difficult to determine.】

Olivia understood.

If that was the case, she would simply have the magic mirror judge her advancement success rate every day.

However, as long as the probability wasn't 100%, even if it was 90%, she couldn't take the risk. She had to ensure her advancement was foolproof.

From this perspective, familiarizing herself with the domain deployment abilities of a Domainist and searching for that sense of completion were still necessary steps.

While it wasn't possible to directly become a Skywalker, as a Domainist, Olivia felt she had enough power to handle her business.

Yes, she still had business to attend to.

This business was, naturally, closely related to Everett.

She wouldn't have needed to complete her advancement ritual early, but Everett's appearance had disrupted her plans, forcing her to choose to advance ahead of schedule to possess greater strength to deal with the situation.

Olivia immediately questioned the magic mirror, wanting to know Everett's location.

The magic mirror quickly provided the answer.

When the answer appeared, Olivia's heart skipped a beat.

Because Everett's current location was actually in the ruined park that led to the underground ruins.

That fellow had actually found his way there!

If he were allowed to continue, the underground ruins would inevitably be exposed, and Thales would certainly be found.

However, now that she had become a Domainist, it shouldn't be impossible to deal with a Skywalker.

If such a thought were held by any other transcendent, that person would be considered utterly mad or delusional.

But when it came to Olivia, at least she herself felt there was no issue.

After all, back when she was still a Transcender, dealing with a Domainist hadn't been that difficult. Now that she was a Domainist, why shouldn't she be able to deal with a Skywalker?

With so many cheats active, if she couldn't fight above her level, wouldn't those cheats be for nothing?

She even felt that as a Transcender, she might have been able to fight a Skywalker, but the Skywalkers she faced were either Thales or Everett—both of whom were Skywalkers with one foot already in the door of becoming an Evolver.

If they were just normal Skywalkers, she might not have even needed an emergency advancement to cope.

Regardless, it was time to act.

Dressed in her nun's habit, Olivia took out the King's Domain. With a single teleportation, she arrived in the Main District.

With another teleportation, she arrived at her destination: the ruined park.

She continued to ask the magic mirror in her mind for Everett's exact location and learned that he had already found the passage to the underground ruins and was currently walking through it.
