An aura of revival appeared on Olivia, exuding an extremely mysterious feeling.
But in reality, this aura didn't emanate from Olivia herself; it was emitted by the King's Domain she carried.
Upon detecting the spread of this aura, Everett's spirits lifted, and his eyes brightened as he looked at Olivia.
As a Skywalker, Everett immediately judged that this was the manifestation of a forbidden artifact beginning to revive.
If a forbidden artifact was used for too long, such a situation would occur, which was precisely the beginning of the artifact's backlash.
The backlash he had been waiting for was finally here!
Everett was ecstatic. While defending against Olivia's continuous attacks, he kept his eyes fixed on her, wanting to see how this nun would handle the backlash.
At that moment, Olivia also pulled out King's Domain from her clothes and glanced at it.
This map-shaped forbidden artifact was currently trembling slightly, with a terrifying aura spreading from it, as if a sleeping giant beast was waking up.
It was beginning to become uncontrolled.
When Olivia used the teleportation function, she even detected a hint of sluggishness, and this sluggishness would only increase as time passed.
"Heh, not listening?"
Olivia wasn't panicked; she simply stared at the King's Domain in her hand.
Immediately after, a flash of red light suddenly bloomed within her left eye.
Everett saw Olivia's left eye transform into a crimson pupil. That pupil looked exceptionally eerie, as if the crimson moon had been condensed within it, giving off a highly uncomfortable feeling.
Just by looking at that eye, Everett felt a sense of danger welling up, though he didn't know why the eye evoked such a feeling.
When this eye appeared, the King's Domain, which had been restless and reviving, quieted down in an instant.
The so-called backlash of a forbidden artifact was nothing before Olivia; a single glance was enough to suppress it.
Olivia then raised her head, looking at Everett with those crimson eyes.
"How is that possible?"
Everett also noticed that the signs of King's Domain's backlash had vanished without a trace. He understood clearly that this was the result of the forbidden artifact being suppressed.
It was all because the opponent's eye had changed.
Just what kind of method was that? Why could she suppress forbidden artifacts so easily, one after another?
Everett couldn't understand it; he couldn't understand it at all.
But he knew his situation was becoming increasingly dire.
If the opponent's forbidden artifact couldn't trigger a backlash, then continuing this stalemate would bring him nothing but harm.
Even as a Skywalker with one foot in the door of an Evolver, he might not be able to preserve his life in such a terrifying crisis.
He had to retreat.
With a movement of Everett's hand, several arrows erupted with incredibly brilliant light, shooting toward the passage above his head.
He intended to carve a path through the earth by force to leave this place.
As long as he reached the outside and took to the sky, he believed a Domainist wouldn't necessarily be able to catch him.
However, Olivia knew exactly what Everett was thinking. How could she let him leave just like that?
Her figure flashed, appearing beside Everett, and the Cross Grace in her hand, stained with red light, slashed down heavily.
The two sides began another fierce exchange.
Except this time, their clash was no longer a mutual struggle of offense and defense, but one side attempting to flee and the other pursuing with all her might.
This allowed Olivia to seize much more of the initiative, and her offensive became particularly violent. In a short time, she left a large number of wounds on Everett's body once again.
Everett was already covered in wounds before he could even break through the ground to reach the surface.
Yet he still chose this path because, according to his judgment, the underground passage wasn't too far from the surface, and he should be nearly there.
He endured the attacks Olivia inflicted on him once more, then let out a loud shout, using the fired arrows to blast through the final barrier and fly up to the surface.
"I'm free!"
Having flown out, Everett moved to soar straight into the sky. Once he was high in the air, the nun would certainly be unable to do anything to him.
But just as he took flight, his heart gave a sudden leap as he sensed something was wrong.
He discovered that the four directions and the sky above had turned into a vast white mist, as if a barrier had trapped him within this small area.
With his rich experience, he immediately recognized that this was a method from a forbidden artifact, sealing off an entire area.
Even as a Skywalker, breaking through such a seal would definitely be no easy task.
Everett's expression darkened instantly.
At that moment, Olivia flashed beside Everett again, her sword slashing down heavily and without mercy.
"Bang!"
Everett held his bow horizontally in front of him, blocking Olivia's attack.
Then, he said in a low voice, "This should be our first meeting, right? In the past, we had no grievances. Why must you fixate on me? I have never offended you; there's no need to be so ruthless, is there?"
As a Skywalker, having to say such submissive words to a Domainist made Everett feel like he was losing face significantly.
But he had no choice, for at this moment, he could no longer afford to be aggressive.
"I'm with the Church, and you're with the Rose Legion. Do I need any other reason to move against you?" Olivia said with a half-smile.
Everett's heart skipped a beat. He was a member of the Rose Legion—how did the other party know that?
"You've got it wrong. I'm not with the Rose Legion; I'm just a passing transcendent," Everett tried to argue.
"Still trying to make excuses for yourself at this stage? Is there any point? You came here looking for Thales, and you still say you're not from the Rose Legion?" Olivia said, amused.
Hearing Olivia mention Thales, Everett's heart skipped a beat again.
This companion he had been searching for earlier was likely in a dire situation as well.
Just as Everett wanted to argue further, Olivia said, "Enough, there's no need for more words. Thales is already dead; you should go to the world of the dead to accompany him. After all, you are good friends, aren't you?"
As Olivia spoke, the offensive in her hands became violent once more, every movement carrying intense killing intent.
