Chapter 214 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

Hearing the voice, Olivia turned around to look.

Emerging from the teleportation array was a group of people dressed luxuriously. The man leading them was tall and majestic, with an extraordinary aura.

This gentleman had short, slightly curly deep blue hair. Although his expression was majestic, he wore a smile, and his deep blue eyes were fixed on Olivia.

He was the one who had called out to her just now.

Olivia recognized the man before her; after all, his face had been all over the newspapers lately.

"So it is Emperor Aisrether," Olivia said, identifying him immediately.

Axel Aisrether couldn't help but chuckle at her words. "Sister Olivia, you can just call me Axel."

Although Axel had recently become the emperor of the Holy Kelidos Empire, he did not dare to put on airs, especially when facing someone from the Church.

Of course, it was primarily because the person standing before him was Olivia.

Olivia had not intentionally built up her reputation, so not many people knew of her. However, since Axel was able to become an emperor, he naturally had a relatively deep understanding of the Church's internal information.

He knew very well who the person standing before him was. This was no ordinary member of the clergy, but a Domainist who had already attained the status of an oracle nun.

One had to realize that he himself was only a Skywalker; his class rank wasn't even as high as the previous Emperor Frederick, Cassius.

That wasn't even the most important part. The most important thing was that Axel knew Olivia was also one of the Church's Protagonists of the Era!

This was the reason why Axel had proactively come to greet her after hearing that Olivia had arrived in Aisrether City.

The future status of a nun with such strength within the Church was easy to imagine. Being a bit more polite would definitely not be a mistake.

"Is the Emperor looking for me?" Olivia asked.

"Hearing of Sister Olivia's arrival, I naturally had to come and say hello. Otherwise, it would have been remiss of me," Axel said, placing himself in a very humble position.

This posture caused a hint of interest to flash in Olivia's eyes.

Axel continued, "However, there are indeed some matters I would like to inquire about."

"What matters?" Olivia asked.

Axel immediately said, "It's like this. With the appearance of Aisrether City, I believe this city will gradually become more prosperous in the future.

"Therefore, I hope the Church can also establish a cathedral in Aisrether City, much like the Morning Light Cathedral in the Main District and the Daylight Cathedral in the South District."

Hearing this, Olivia felt that Axel was not wrong.

However...

"I am not responsible for such matters. You've sought out the wrong person. You should go directly to the Main District to find Sister Sybil," Olivia replied.

Axel smiled and said, "I mainly feel that if you, Sister Olivia, were willing to be the person in charge for the Church in Aisrether City, it would be a very good thing."

"Why would you want me to be the person in charge? My strength is far from enough." Olivia shook her head.

"For a Protagonist of the Era to be willing to serve as the person in charge would be the honor of Aisrether City, and my honor as well," Axel said.

Olivia still shook her head. "This isn't something I have the final say in. Regarding such matters, Emperor, you should still propose them to the Church through normal channels. I cannot handle this."

"Very well. Then I shall present my suggestion to the Church later." Seeing that Olivia had no interest, Axel could only say this.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now." Olivia did not wish to converse further.

She only needed to ask the magic mirror in her mind to know what Axel's goal was.

This new emperor might look calm on the surface, but in reality, his heart was very tense and he felt a great lack of security.

His rise in status hadn't brought him much joy; instead, it had generated quite a bit of fear. Therefore, everything he did was simply to maintain a good relationship with the Church.

And as the Church's recognized Protagonist of the Era, Olivia naturally became a target for Axel to build a relationship with.

As long as she was willing, Axel would invite her to the highest-specification banquets and present her with the most brilliant gems, the most expensive luxury goods, and so on.

But Olivia had no interest in any of that.

What Axel could give her, she could obtain herself.

Lest it be forgotten, she had a vast amount of accumulated merit with the Church. If she were to use it, what good thing couldn't she trade for?

So, in the end, Olivia simply waved her hand and turned to leave.

Watching Olivia's back as she gradually moved away, someone beside Axel couldn't help but say, "Emperor, this nun doesn't seem to hold you in high regard at all. She lacks sufficient respect for you."

"Why should she respect me?" Axel asked in return.

"This... because, Emperor, you are the Emperor."

"Heh, Emperor. I can only be the Emperor because the Church needs me to be," Axel said with a self-deprecating smile.

"But that nun, she doesn't represent the Church itself. Isn't she being a bit too dismissive of you?"

"Do not speak of such things again." Axel did not want to continue the topic.

He ordered his subordinates to stop discussing the matter, took one last deep look at Olivia's departing figure, and then let out a sigh.

A Protagonist of the Era... how truly enviable.

If possible, he would also want to become a Protagonist of the Era, rather than some Emperor Aisrether.

In this world possessed of transcendent power, those increasingly formidable transcendent means were what people truly yearned for. By comparison, what did the seat of an emperor even amount to?

...

Olivia wandered around Aisrether City for a bit.

After finding that the city was indeed quite dull at the moment, she left immediately.

She didn't choose to return via the teleportation array. Instead, she used the teleportation function of King's Domain to leave and return to her home at 88 Annus Street in the South District.

Over the next few days, Olivia took a good rest.

From time to time, she would go to the theater to watch a play, go to a café for a cup of coffee, or have a small gathering with her fellow book enthusiasts.
