Chapter 89 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

Seeing the King's Domain being searched out, Annie couldn't help but panic.

"That's mine!" she said, her eyes wide.

This was a rule-grade forbidden artifact, not something that appeared easily. It could be considered the most precious thing she possessed.

"It won't be yours anymore," Olivia said unhurriedly.

Although Annie was already under Rose's control, it was entirely possible for her to try and do something secretly through the King's Domain. Therefore, Olivia had to prevent that from happening.

"Sister, here," Rose said, handing over the King's Domain.

Seeing this, Olivia's heart skipped a beat, and she didn't quite dare to take the forbidden artifact.

This was a forbidden artifact that could not be sealed. It possessed extremely terrifying dangers, and a single mistake could lead to horrific consequences.

She couldn't help but mutter in her heart.

'Magic mirror, magic mirror, what are the negative effects of the King's Domain?'

【This forbidden artifact will randomly and erratically trigger its own effects within its range of influence.】

Olivia was speechless. In other words, if she couldn't control the King's Domain, holding it in her hand would almost immediately attract the attention of the Church. Who knew how much trouble that would cause?

'If I hold the King's Domain, can I ensure it serves me and that its effects don't trigger randomly?'

【No.】

The magic mirror's answer was simple and direct, leaving Olivia feeling helpless.

Ultimately, her class rank was still not high enough.

Annie was fine holding the King's Domain, which was clearly related to the fact that Annie herself was an Evolver.

Rose was even more beyond question; her own authority was higher, enough to suppress the changes of the King's Domain.

But Olivia couldn't.

So, Olivia could only shake her head. "Rose, this is a very dangerous thing. I can't touch it either, so I'll have to ask you to keep it for me. Remember, don't let Annie take it back."

"Oh, I understand." Hearing this, Rose rolled up the King's Domain and tucked it into her clothes.

A rule-grade forbidden artifact was seemingly within reach, yet she couldn't take it, causing Olivia to sigh inwardly.

But thinking carefully, she just couldn't hold the King's Domain herself; it wasn't as if she couldn't use it. Couldn't she just ask Rose to help her use it?

Because she still remembered Rose, her relationship with the girl was naturally much closer. Asking Rose to help use the King's Domain shouldn't be an issue.

Not just now, but in the future as well, as long as she could find Rose.

Thinking of this, Olivia said, "Rose, do you have any goals now? For example, is there somewhere you want to go?"

Rose shook her head. "I don't have anywhere to go. I don't know where I should go. I just walk around, searching for my future, but I don't know where my future actually is."

Olivia quickly said, "In that case, don't run too far for now. Just wander around a fixed area. That way, I'll be able to find you, and I can bring you something to eat from time to time."

Olivia's idea was very simple.

As long as Rose's range of activity remained within the magic mirror's control, she could find Rose at any time.

So even if there were places where she needed to use the King's Domain in the future, she could just come looking for her.

While it still wasn't as convenient as holding it herself... she simply had no way to hold it, didn't she?

A rule-grade forbidden artifact had too high a specification; it wasn't something a Sensate was qualified to possess.

Next, Olivia mentioned several streets—all of which were streets the magic mirror could monitor—and told Rose it would be best if she only moved within those streets.

Rose agreed to this.

In this second meeting, her attitude toward Olivia was completely different from that time at the orphanage.

That time had just been a chance encounter. Everyone encounters thousands upon thousands of people by chance in their lives; that represents nothing, and that single encounter might be the only one in a lifetime.

Furthermore, she was always easily forgotten by others.

But this meeting was different. Everyone else had forgotten her, yet this Sister still remembered her.

Rose didn't say it, but when she heard someone call her name from behind, her heart had beat much faster in that instant.

This kind of address, like a greeting between friends, was far too rare for her.

She was being forgotten by the world, and she was also forgetting herself. The entire world was like a pale void, filled with a sense of desolation. But that one call of "Rose" was like a wind blowing from outside the world, making the desolate world become vivid.

The entire world had color from then on.

"You damn brat, you'd better pray I don't get my freedom, or I'll make you wish you were dead!"

While Rose was feeling sentimental, Annie, beside her, cursed Olivia with a vicious tone, feeling extremely indignant about losing the King's Domain.

Even though the King's Domain was still on Rose, even if it was on Rose, how could she possibly get it back? Did she not already know how strange and eerie Rose was?

"You are not allowed to say such things." Rose slapped Annie on the head. The slap made Annie stagger, and she felt as if her head had been run over by a carriage; her vision blurred briefly.

Olivia couldn't help but find this a bit amusing.

Normally, if an Evolver-rank transcendent appeared before her, she could only face them with extreme caution. But because of Rose's existence, everything had become full of drama.

"Let's go, Rose. I'll take you to buy some food first. You must be hungry."

Olivia took Rose's other hand and began walking down the street.

Although the chaos had only ended recently, many civilians had already started working, not daring to waste too much time, so buying some food was achievable.

Rose walked in the middle, one hand held by Olivia and the other gripping Annie's arm.

'Right, it's fine for me to walk with Rose, but with Annie there too, what will happen if people from the Church see us? Does the Church actually know what Annie looks like?'
