Chapter 92 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

Was this really a good thing?

If she were just a normal nun, this would undoubtedly be a blessing. With an unlimited expense account, she could live a comfortable and free life from now on.

The finest meals, the most pleasant entertainment, a house on expensive land, perhaps even a noble title, and countless spiritual materials... she could have it all.

But she had another identity: a spy sent by the Rose Legion to infiltrate the Church.

Olivia could almost imagine what the Rose Legion would make her do once they learned of her situation.

They would definitely force her to make outrageous expenditures. Even if the Church audited every transaction, the Rose Legion would never pass up such an opportunity to siphon benefits.

For her, this was anything but good—it was potentially fatal!

Though her future looked bright on the surface, she was actually standing on the line between life and death. One wrong move, and the stake would be her final destination.

As these thoughts flashed through her mind, Olivia spoke solemnly, "Lady Melanie, regarding this matter, how many people know? Regardless of the number, I hope the Church can suppress this news. I’d prefer it if people didn't know I’ve performed such a great service. Does the Church have any means of influencing memory? If possible, I’d like those who already know—like the people on Huys Street—to forget certain things they shouldn't remember."

Since her survival was at stake, Olivia had to be cautious.

Olivia's reaction took Melanie by surprise.

She looked at Olivia thoughtfully, then realized why she was being so prudent.

Sometimes, possessing too much would attract dangerous gazes; excessive wealth was synonymous with risk.

Just as a kidnapper looking for a ransom would target a wealthy family rather than a poor one.

"I understand what you mean. I will discuss this with the higher-ups immediately. Go and rest for now. I’ll take it upon myself to give you a few days off. You don't have to do anything; just get some good rest."

Melanie patted Olivia on the shoulder, signaling her not to be too tense.

...

After leaving the Administrative Office, Olivia still had her lips pursed, pondering her next move.

Ultimately, she had to find a way to break free from the Rose Legion to truly improve her situation. However, the Rose Legion's files were not easily accessible.

It was a pity. If only she knew where the Rose Legion's headquarters was. The next time she advanced, she could simply place the magic mirror's control range there. Then, no secret would be hidden from her, and every problem would have a solution...

Wait, the magic mirror's next range expansion would likely still be confined to Kaliron. She would have to choose an area within the city...

That meant it might take the time after next.

Olivia asked the magic mirror about this in her mind, and she soon received an answer that changed the look in her eyes.

【If the Master becomes a mid-level class rank transcendent, my control range will increase significantly. Next time, I will be able to control all of Kaliron. The time after that, I can bring any city in the Holy Kelidos Empire under my control.】

Olivia thought for a moment. The Rose Legion's primary area of activity was within the Holy Kelidos Empire, so their headquarters should be somewhere within its borders.

With that thought, Olivia immediately had a plan for the future.

She needed to raise her class rank. Before becoming a Domainist—meaning during her current Sensate stage or the upcoming Transcender stage—she had to uncover the location of the Rose Legion's headquarters.

Then, after advancing to the Domainist class rank, she would set the magic mirror's control range over their headquarters.

Finally, while at that stage, she would use the magic mirror's help to escape the Rose Legion's control and become a member of the Radiant Light Church once and for all.

While formulating this long-term plan, Olivia unconsciously walked out of the Daylight Cathedral.

She looked left and right, wondering if she had missed anything.

'Why do I feel like I've forgotten something?'

Olivia began to think.

Everything was fine with Rose; she was still at the hotel Olivia had arranged on Annus Street.

Speaking of which, if she really were to buy a house of her own, Annus Street would be a good choice. The economy there was better, and it was one of the most prosperous streets in the entire South District.

Suddenly, Olivia's expression changed as she finally realized what she had forgotten.

She took a light breath, turned around, and walked toward the left side of the street.

Before long, she arrived at the monastery.

Although she hadn't been back for a while, the monastery hadn't changed. The buildings were exactly as they had been, possessing a sense of tranquility that couldn't be found outside.

After identifying herself to the nun guarding the monastery and being verified, Olivia entered.

At this moment, it was break time, and many young nuns were walking to and fro.

These nuns all had their own aspirations for the future: novice nuns wanted to become full nuns, and full nuns wanted to become deaconesses.

'Church positions are linked to transcendent class ranks. To rise in position, one must first rise in rank... Hmm, I should be considered a deaconess now, right?'

Olivia realized this.

Melanie hadn't mentioned it earlier—had she forgotten because there were too many other things to deal with?

That was likely the case.

She recalled that a deaconess had significantly more authority than before. They could even apply to form a transcendent squad and handle various assigned tasks as a team.

Of course, one could also choose to join a more powerful team and work under chanting nuns or even oracle nuns.

Just as Olivia was thinking about this, she realized she had been surrounded.

She looked up and saw a group of chattering nuns had gathered around her at some point.

"Excuse me... are you Sister Olivia Melianne?" a nun with large eyes asked curiously.

"I am... and you are..." Olivia felt the girl looked somewhat familiar.

"I'm Rowan Marshall!" The large-eyed nun's expression instantly became excited. "It really is you! We were in the same batch of nuns, don't you remember me? I know all about you! I heard you've helped the Church handle many transcendent incidents and even saved an entire transcendent team. That's just... so amazing!"
