Chapter 118 | Reincarnated as a Prince in a Twisted Fairy Tale World

Enemies who were just at each other's throats a moment ago had united in the face of a greater crisis, forming a common front; this development was simply too classic.

One could only say that the wheel of destiny had truly run out of new ideas.

However, Faust naturally welcomed the assistance of Dathrohan and the others.

To be honest, he didn't have much of a grudge against them. In fact, to some extent, Faust had to thank these veteran powerhouses for providing him with so much experience and merit.

It wasn't him who was being constantly stepped on and humiliated, after all. Furthermore, Faust had heard from Viviana earlier that the grail knights summoned by Azure Maiden had been thrashed by her and Selena again.

Grail knights, it turns out you really are professional stepping stones! It brings a tear to my eye.

"Fine. In that case, you two, come and lend us a hand!"

Faust, piloting 【Zilliax】, laughed as he cleared space for the two Knight-Gods.

The professionalism of the grail knights was still commendable; even though Faust had frequently used trash talk to insult their goddess, they were able to let bygones be bygones at this moment.

In the battle against the Dragon's Eye, they were even willing to step forward and take hits for Faust, allowing 【Zilliax】 to use the 【poisonous module】 stacked with the 【windfury module】 to deal damage.

Compared to Faust, who focused on self-preservation, stayed on the periphery, and waited for opportunities, the grail knights' complete disregard for their own lives made them look more like people who knew the script of fate.

Faust skirmished without committing; the grail knights were the ones doing the heavy lifting against the dragon!

However, Faust also had his reasons. It wasn't that he liked being a bystander, but rather that the pressure was too immense—so immense that he didn't dare take risks.

Looking at the battlefield now, there were two grail knights, one high warlock, and if Faust in 【Zilliax】 was included, that made four 【hero】 level combatants.

It sounded impressive—four 【hero】 level fighters. An ordinary kingdom couldn't find that many high-end combatants even if they searched everywhere; it was enough to subjugate a fiend terrorizing a region.

But in a battle to slay a dragon, four heroes didn't even have the qualifications to be cannon fodder; they would be reduced to ashes with a single glance from a true dragon.

Of course, the current Dragon's Eye could not be compared to a real giant dragon. But as a vessel for a curse, even if it had spent nearly half its mana to break the spell barrier, its remaining power was still difficult to shake.

As for the two witches?

They were indeed anomalies beyond the standard scale, but the authority of a witch also followed basic laws; one could even say their limitations were quite significant.

It was currently daytime, so Viviana's 【one night's dream】 was completely useless, and Selena's witch trait likely wouldn't have much effect on the Dragon's Eye.

The safety of the witches wasn't a concern, but the Queen of Midwinter on the spell workshop didn't have a plot armor protection.

Due to the corrective nature of the wheel of destiny, Faust had ample reason to suspect that if they were defeated, Lola would likely sacrifice herself to protect Selena.

And the threat of the Dragon's Eye would probably dissipate afterward.

Faust's guesses regarding the script of fate were always correct. Just as Mephisto said, he was a genius when it came to perceiving the trajectory of destiny.

To protect Mama Lola, Faust could not lose; he had to preserve his utility.

He had finally managed to rewrite the script of "Snow White," proving he had the ability to interfere with the witches' feast.

If he failed because of insufficient ability, Faust would never be satisfied!

The confrontation between the group and the Dragon's Eye continued. Logically, if they held on like this, they could exhaust the curse, but clearly, things would not go so smoothly.

Finally, Royce was caught in a moment of weakness while driving his Knight-God forward to strike.

"Screeech—"

Accompanied by the sharp sound of tearing steel, the dragon projection extended its claws, piercing the Knight-God mecha and tossing it away.

The moment the mecha disintegrated, Dathrohan caught him at the critical moment.

The bronze-skinned grail knight was covered in blood; his spine had been mostly torn apart by the dragon claws. However, such an injury was not fatal for someone with the 【Fairy's Blessing】, though it was difficult for him to continue fighting for the time being.

Royce gave a bitter smile.

"I'm still not quite used to piloting a Knight-God."

"Who told you not to practice before! You've truly crippled your own skills!"

Dathrohan cursed angrily, but his body honestly carried his colleague away from the battlefield.

Having finally defeated one grail knight and forced the other to temporarily leave the field, the Dragon's Eye gained a moment of respite. Seizing this opportunity, it began to chant obscure dragon-speech at high speed.

The so-called "dragon-speech" was originally the prophecy of a fairy; it was a voice from beyond the starry sky. Even if the chanter was a walking corpse, it did not affect the ethereal and profound sense of vastness in the words of the fairy.

【The authority of a fairy can only be fully exerted after a dragonfall. What the son of man calls a dragon-speech spell is actually the re-weaving and shaping of reality. Theoretically, it creates a distorted rule that only lasts for a short time. However, for the sake of efficiency, most dragon-speech spells only perform evocation.】

Mephisto was still calmly explaining the principles to Faust, but the prince could no longer settle down to think.

He only heard one meaning from Mephisto's words.

"So, can we start running now?"

Faust turned around, wanting to avoid the spell, but unfortunately, he was a step too late.

"Vroom—"

A ringing sound vibrated through his form, and his ears were filled with a sudden roar.

Then, all sound seemed to be stripped away, and an eerie silence filled the world.

Immediately after, light was also snatched away, as if night had suddenly descended.

But this didn't mean the Dragon's Eye had truly changed heaven and earth.

Rather, the light it released was so brilliant that everything around it paled in comparison.

This terrifying prelude lasted only an instant, yet it gave the illusion of time and space being frozen.

On a time scale almost imperceptible to humans, the entire field outside the Mountain Father was enveloped in light in an instant.

"Boom—"

The sound was returned, and low-pitched explosions and tearing sounds swept across the land like a vengeful gale.

With the center of the rift as the origin, dark red magical fluctuations spread rapidly, crushing, annihilating, and pulverizing almost all matter!

Under this world-destroying dragon-speech spell, whether it was a Knight-God or a titan, they were all blown away. The grail knights bore the brunt of it, taking the maximum damage as they were embedded into the rock layers, their fate unknown.

Lola's workshop barrier was directly breached, and it wobbled as it fell, coming to a stop at the foot of the mountain.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

【Zilliax】 was embedded in a ravine. Inside the 【Neural Link Pod】, Faust spat out mouthfuls of blood. Because the blood choked his throat, he had to awkwardly roll onto his side.

Even though he had only been lightly grazed by the aftershocks of the Dragon's Eye's spell, Faust, sharing senses with 【Zilliax】, felt an unprecedented pressure.

It was as if his limbs, bones, blood, and muscles were all kneaded together in an instant, and his head throbbed with a splitting pain, like a knife twisting inside.

Faust looked at the tragic scene around him. Because of another eruption from the Dragon's Eye, of everyone present, he was actually in the best condition—at least 【Zilliax】 could still move.
