Chapter 206 | Reincarnated as a Prince in a Twisted Fairy Tale World

Faust was stunned. A combination of 【Brave One】 and 【Overlord】 had not appeared since the founding ancestor of the empire, that hero who truly slew a dragon with his own hands.

He had not expected that among his descendants, another chosen child with the same dual fate-stars would be born.

Sigh, heroes beget heroic sons, and the empire's legacy passes down through the generations.

Is this world even salvageable anymore? He felt a sense of despair.

Faust felt as if his own sky had gone dark, and he could not help but sigh in his heart.

【Is it possible that it is not dark, but rather that the umbrella I am holding is too large?】

Oh, so I have a fairy above me as well. That is fine then.

Compared to the enviable dual fate-stars of 【Overlord】 and 【Brave One】, a contract of life and death with a primordial fairy was even more transcendent. Faust's mindset balanced out instantly.

Alexander seemed to trust Artedinis deeply. He immediately exhaled the gloom from his chest, bowed his head, and saluted:

"Since Her Imperial Highness has said so, I am naturally willing to set aside my displeasure."

Artedinis nodded with a smile and then looked toward the prince of Qingxi:

"Prince Faust, this is our first meeting, is it not? But I have already learned about you in advance. Now it seems she was not wrong at all."

"She? Do you mean Sister Helen?"

Hearing this, Faust looked at the golden-haired, golden-eyed nun. Since the Sanctuary had required him to cooperate with the princess, they would naturally inform Artedinis of the situation.

However, this princess, who possessed stunning beauty and an elegant, composed demeanor, smiled mysteriously and shook her head:

"No, I am not talking about Sister Helen... but rather the Lady of the Lake, Azure Maiden. You should know her, right?"

Hmm?!

Faust raised an eyebrow: "Azure Maiden... what did she tell you?"

According to Mephistopheles, ever since Azure Maiden suffered a setback in the Midwinter Kingdom, she had been plotting something, constantly linking things together. Not only had she connected with the Sanctuary, but she actually had a friendship with the imperial princess?

Her Imperial Highness tapped her cheek with a slender finger, her single visible indigo eye, not covered by her hair, drooping slightly as she said:

"Some interesting things. That Lady of the Lake said you could fulfill my expectations and ignite this tedious life. I should have held reservations about that, but after what just happened... hehe, it is indeed worth looking forward to. I have decided to agree to the suggestion she proposed."

"What do you mean?"

"Why be in such a rush? Secrets are most charming only when the moment arrives to reveal them."

Artedinis placed a slender finger to her lips in a gesture of silence.

Then, she raised her hands above her head and clapped near her ears, saying:

"Very well, everyone, since the duel has ended, I have an announcement to make while everyone is still here. Please return to the banquet for now and wait a moment."

"Yes!"

"As you command, Your Highness."

"Your will..."

The princess's voice was not particularly aggressive, yet almost every guest present, whether from the empire or not, responded with respectful trepidation. Artedinis's prestige was evident.

However, thinking about it carefully, it was quite normal. After all, this was still Saint-Vevia, Artedinis's home base. Most of the nobles here had sworn allegiance to her, and even those who were not imperial nobles would pay their respects to such a distinguished figure.

Do not let her youth fool you. After the great civil war of the empire, there were few imperial governors left. With a lack of successors, Artedinis was the only one among the new generation of the royal family capable of shouldering the burden.

Faust could tell at a glance that this imperial princess's strength was simply unfathomable.

Even among those at the 【hero】 rank, there were levels of distinction, and she was likely only a step away from becoming a 【Saint】...

Although rank did not explain everything—true measurement of strength relied on the path—the other party's path was the specialized cheat class 【Radiant King】.

If Alexander had only gained the qualifications to become a 【Brave One】 because he obtained the 【Blade of Praising Gods】, then Artedinis was purely talented enough to be called a 【Brave One】 without any other assistance.

Artedinis asked everyone to return to their seats to wait, while she herself turned and left the banquet. It was unclear what she intended to do.

Faust returned to his lover's side. Selena approached without reservation and embraced the prince.

"Faust... my dear Faust, my guardian knight, the warrior who won the victory for me, how should I reward you?"

Although the prince's performance was a bit too heavy-handed, regardless, seeing one's beloved prince step forward to defend her and win a victory was a scene any princess would dream of.

Snow White was no exception; after all, being love-struck was the base code for a witch.

Faust smiled: "There is nothing more suitable as a reward for a knight returning in triumph than a passionate kiss."

The beautiful princess with long black hair raised her head and smiled:

"Hmm... a kiss? You are truly greedy, but I am not such a casual woman."

Faust immediately apologized: "It was my impoliteness. It is just that your beauty has left me soul-stirred."

Even though they usually played quite wild games, often involving grand, overflowing passion, at this moment, they tacitly pretended to be pure.

This kind of tacit understanding was a little romantic interest that Faust often engaged in with the young women. No matter how long they spent together, they always seemed to maintain a state of intense, burning love. The dopamine just would not drop!

Whether it was due to their constitution or the hand of providence, Faust had to admit that he enjoyed this state of "eternal infatuation," as if all the happiness in the world were held within his grasp.

"Your Highness, during your battle with that Brave One candidate just now..."

Viviana asked about the situation during the duel.

Perhaps to outsiders, Faust was showing true feelings, but to those close to the prince who knew him well... it was not that they doubted the man's determination or thoughts.

But the performance was still too exaggerated. Faust was simply not that kind of person.

"I was just so excited at the thought of a victory kiss."

The pale-gold-haired girl said this and, without further ado, took the prince's arm:

"I see. Since that is the case, it would be unreasonable for me not to offer a reward kiss."

Viviana did not really care about the reason. Rather than getting to the bottom of it, she very naturally built upon the topic and kissed Faust affectionately.

Selena liked things a bit more reserved and subtle, but childhood sweethearts rarely had such interests. As an excellent representative proving the suppression of the 【witch】 star, this pure and gentle knight girl could consume several liters without changing her expression.
