Chapter 28 | Reincarnated as a Prince in a Twisted Fairy Tale World

"I see. This is what you meant before, that an excellent teacher can also share their path experience?"

Faust had a sudden realization.

Wow, that was quite the combination. Talk about an exaggeration.

Now a teacher really could cram knowledge right into your brain.

【Throughout history, there have been far too few Sons of Man who could possess these three top-tier traits simultaneously. Let me think... the last time one appeared was over a thousand years ago. Even the elf herself doesn't understand the principle; she just stumbled upon the most effective method by chance.】

"But you know it, don't you?" Faust asked.

【There is very little I do not know.】

Mephistopheles' tone seemed to carry a cute "hurry up and praise me" energy, but the Qingxi prince ignored it.

An old-timer acting young.

Sure enough, Faust's initial thought was correct. The real cheat of the contract with a fairy was the latter's vast knowledge spanning history. By comparison, the blessings weren't nearly as crucial.

At least, a standard blessing would never reach this level. Only a primordial fairy who possessed insight into all things in the world could manipulate things to elevate a blessing that shouldn't have been much of a reward to its current state.

I can't do this anymore. Since it's such a miraculous encounter, I can't accept missing even a single day!

With an excited heart, Faust strode into the palace garden under the morning glow, where Mystoria was already waiting.

No matter how early the prince woke up, his tutor was always earlier.

The elf girl wore a sleeveless white shirt and a pleated miniskirt with a cinched waist. Her delicate, fair skin was bathed in the radiance of the morning sun, making her look full of youthful vitality—nothing like a being who had lived for nearly two hundred years.

Well... considering the long lifespan of elves, Mystoria was indeed quite young.

The elf tutor was picking out a weapon from the case for her apprentice to familiarize himself with today. Hearing footsteps, her pointed elf ears, adorned with crystal pendants, twitched as she glanced at Faust.

"Hmm?"

Picking a shortsword from the case, Mystoria blinked her golden eyes and asked, "Did something good happen to you?"

"Teacher Mystoria, why do you ask?"

"Because you look very excited. You're smiling a bit like a creep."

Faust finally noticed he couldn't keep the corners of his mouth down and quickly pressed them.

"The first smile of the day. It seems my self-control is still lacking."

Managing his expression, Faust didn't put on any armor. He picked up his runic longsword and stood before Mystoria, taking a stance.

"I simply can't wait to receive your instruction!"

Mystoria nodded, her golden eyes shining. "Then you're quite eager to learn."

In the elf girl's career, she had never seen an apprentice with such resilient willpower as Faust.

One had to understand that even those exceptionally talented warriors and martial artists couldn't stand her long-term tutelage.

Usually, after being defeated a few times, they would immediately express their gratitude and claim they had learned enough, not daring to trade blows with their senior again.

Not everyone could endure the masochistic, crude teaching of an elf martial saint. Thus, Mystoria never claimed to have any real students; she only said she had guided others in a few moves for mutual learning.

As for Faust... he was already the person she had taught the longest. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him her first apprentice.

"Teacher Mystoria, please instruct me."

After the routine greeting, the Qingxi prince took a heavy step onto the grass and then delivered a strike that let out a shrill whistle through the air.

Clang—

Without any surprise, Faust's slash was steadily parried by Mystoria. Then, the elf martial saint put one hand behind her back and began to suppress Faust with just one hand.

The elf martial saint's every move was as sharp as ever, but this time Faust didn't go out of his way to block. He took the less severe hits directly. Since they wouldn't hinder his ability to continue fighting, he decided to focus everything on his offensive.

Clang, clang, clang, clang—

Despite it being two hands against one and having the weapon advantage, Faust actually managed to hold his own against Mystoria's steel. Each time their weapons collided, rainbow-colored sparks flew.

The Qingxi prince fought more and more smoothly. Before this, he had already noticed the changes in himself. After Mephistopheles clarified the reason, he completely threw away the last trace of resistance in his heart and embraced the changes the elf martial saint brought to him.

It wasn't like a sparring match; it was more like a dance. Each of Mystoria's strikes allowed him to better blend into the rhythm of her footsteps, as he imitated his teacher with his whole being.

Bang—

Another collision of blades led to a struggle of strength. Mystoria's golden eyes, which always seemed calm and indifferent during battle, finally showed a flicker of emotion. She said softly to Faust:

"Your strength is constantly improving. In fact, you're improving a bit too fast. With your aptitude, it shouldn't be like this."

Mystoria wasn't aware of the synergistic effect of the traits she possessed. Faust's fighting style and techniques were becoming more and more like her own, and she assumed it was because he was working hard to imitate her.

Is he actually a genius? Did I misjudge him?

Faust forced his blade down, gritting his teeth as he smiled. "Thank you for the praise, but people's physical constitutions vary. Perhaps I'm just suited for learning your style!"

Hmm... It seems a fairy's contractor really cannot be measured by common sense.

The flaxen-haired elf girl thought to herself, the corners of her mouth curling up unconsciously.

As a pure martial artist, watching an apprentice make such progress and be able to exchange techniques with her was truly a gratifying thing.

Mystoria even thought about slowing down the pace to spar with the Qingxi prince a bit more.

But she quickly realized something was wrong.

Why... even though he could clearly dodge, did he deliberately take the hits and seem... so willing?

Furthermore, when Faust was being beaten before, though he was tough enough to grit his teeth and endure, his tension and pain were obvious, even if he never spoke of them.

But now... there was no discomfort at all. He was practically enjoying getting hit.

Mystoria tilted her head and thought about it. She had seen such people within her tribe—those who felt pleasure as long as they were treated cruelly.

There were even many people who sneaked into her ascetic sect, feigning asceticism while actually enjoying themselves, which angered the sect masters into purging those frequenters of degenerate gatherings.
