Chapter 115 | Survival for All: The Tower Witch with E-Rank Talent

Lan Qingyou didn't mind Chariot wanting to use her as a test subject.

In fact, almost everyone in the villa operated on this kind of mutually beneficial relationship.

Otherwise, things like the washing machine could never have been bought for a mere one hundred mana potions.

Besides, getting a free ride on a mechanical expert's design was a profit no matter how she looked at it.

Of course.

The most important part was that if she wasn't satisfied with the additions or felt something needed improvement, he would fix it immediately.

It went back to the same principle.

Mutual benefit, conducting research, and surviving well in this world were the unspoken rules of the villa.

After sending the thruster back to Chariot, Lan Qingyou took out the blue glow ball she had made earlier and hung it on the hook at the end of her Magic Broom.

Although the blue glow ball wasn't as bright as a magic lantern and didn't cover as much area, it had a repelling effect.

Exactly.

Back when she was designing it, Lan Qingyou had inserted the hook into the glow ball specifically so it could be hung on the Magic Broom at this very moment.

After all, she was going to be traveling.

So, whether it was the thruster or this glow ball, everything was preparation for her journey.

Checking the time, Lan Qingyou decided not to brew any potions today.

She sat down at her magic desk, took out her card, and opened the forum.

Don't misunderstand.

She didn't open the forum today to keep reading papers; she intended to write one herself.

Although it hadn't been long since she agreed to join Tarot Villa—only about half a month or so—the papers and discussion topics within the villa had been incredibly rewarding for her.

While getting a free ride made one happy, constant mooching wasn't Lan Qingyou's style, nor was it good for her image within the villa.

Besides, Tarot Villa was a community built on the foundation of academic research; since she had been here this long, it was time she contributed something.

Despite how much everyone chatted, Lan Qingyou suspected they hadn't been in the group much longer than she had.

If others were sharing and you weren't, then what was the point of joining this research group?

Right?

So, aside from reading papers, she had been planning to write one for a while.

She wasn't a professional, had never attended university, and didn't even know the proper format for a thesis.

But that didn't matter, because many people in the villa didn't know either.

Most of them just wrote whatever came to mind.

As long as the text was coherent and understandable for everyone—and as long as they didn't invent overly complex jargon—basically no one would complain.

After all, there were even two eighteen-year-olds in the villa.

Thus, Lan Qingyou clicked to create a post, opened a draft, and began tapping away at the keyboard on her screen to edit the card.

Lan Qingyou typed word by word.

She decided to make talent the theme of her first paper.

She didn't just write down her views on talent, but also included her perspective on the Heart's Image, which she had developed while researching talent ascension potions.

One could say the core of her talent ascension potion was her understanding of the Heart's Image.

However, she did not reveal the recipe.

That was something she had spent two nights slaving over; she certainly wasn't going to give it away.

As for the critical issue of blood in the recipe, there was no harm in mentioning it.

First, without the specific ratios, knowing the ingredients was useless.

Second, because she was going to make a talent ascension potion for Chariot, he would find out eventually anyway.

So, she wasn't worried about failing to keep a handle on that aspect.

Lan Qingyou spent the entire afternoon struggling with this paper.

Both lunch and dinner were sent directly by Gu Xiaobei using the magic desk, rather than being sent as Red Packets in the group.

When the people in the group noticed someone was missing, they asked what was going on.

Upon learning that Lan Qingyou was writing a paper, everyone began to look forward to what the first witch to earn a World Title would publish.

Lan Qingyou didn't make them wait long.

Shortly after nine in the evening, she finished the paper and posted it.

Everyone immediately flocked to the forum to read Lan Qingyou's paper.

《On the Necessary Correlation Between the Heart's Image and Talent》——by The Tower

【Talent is the longing of the heart, the heart is the guide of the soul, and blood is the medium of the soul...】

Hierophant: "This paper is very well-written."

Empress: "Indeed."

Justice: "If not for The Tower's paper, I wouldn't have known that talent is related to one's thoughts and inner desires at the time."

The Fool: "In that case, I really do love traveling, which is why I was able to awaken a talent that can ignore barriers?"

The Moon: "You could put it that way."

After reading it, Shang Chuan also reflected on the points in Lan Qingyou's paper.

The entire paper was essentially an analysis of human desire and greed.

While there wasn't much explanation regarding magic or mana, it wasn't hard to see that it was precisely this extreme human 'greed' that allowed one's own mana to be converted into magic.

Yes.

In Lan Qingyou's view, from the moment they were forcibly transported to the Kalim continent, they—who originally possessed no mana—suddenly had it.

The talent awakening on the small screens was merely the conversion of that mana into magic.

This was the theoretical support for Lan Qingyou's statement in the paper that 'talent' equals 'magic.'

High Priestess: "Then where did our initial mana come from?"

The Tower: "I think it should be from breathing."

The Emperor: "Huh?"

Wheel of Fortune: "I think so too. I'm not sure if you noticed, but when I took my first breath of air after being transported to the Kalim continent, I felt a slight, mosquito-bite-like stinging sensation in my lungs. That feeling vanished by the second breath. I think it's related to that."

Detailed—Wheel of Fortune was truly detailed.

To think he could notice something like that.

One could only say this guy's observation of details had reached a freakish level.

Justice: "Meaning our bodies were actually modified by the mana in the air the moment we arrived?"

Magician: "I think it's possible."

Once everyone finished reading, an intense discussion immediately broke out.

It was clear they recognized the validity of Lan Qingyou's paper.

High Priestess: "True. Although the writing is a bit messy, I have to say it's very thorough. I agree with Fortune's theory."

Chariot: "Shoo, you have the nerve to talk about others? Your own papers are a total mess too."

High Priestess: "Uncle Chariot, I'm only eighteen! I haven't even been to university. My papers might be messy, but they're understandable! That's already pretty good."
